Im not going to sit and pretend its used properly in every sense. Because that would be false. But I feel like with a show like this trying to explain and discuss things with characters like this it handles it surprisingly. I think compared to the novel, the show overall does a much better job at showing it as a negative thing and not making it seem like it isnt.
Such a heart wrenching episode but a needed one. Also can we applaud Deep in for actually arresting the rapist and finally getting justice in some capacity? This is why no tik tok can convince me the series romantizises it. They show actual reprecussions of the act and even extends passed it and talks about it. These repercussions also do extend to ZX in some capacity. I love how they use ZX as ways to explain why they toned it down its genius. But still doesnt erase the orginal work and acknowledges it in some way, even critically discusses the original works implication. Wen Dao clearly wanted to respect the original work as much as he could in todays landscape and I appreciate it so much. These conversations feel so in character and not pointless drama for the sake of it. For all the relationships in the show built in these toxic ways there really isnt a healthy outcome, until they approach them differently, on an equal and healthy mindest they will be forever turbulent amazing ep!

Yeah tbh I dont see the ending being rushed at all, there is alot of stuff about GZ in the back half that they removed which frankly I dont mind. The point still comes across of whats going on and his self destruction without needing to show every second of it in detail.
The director is truly flexing this episode! The transitions are absolutely gorgeous and truly brings this concept to life! Amazing episode yet again. Also shuyuan stole this one today I applaud him for being absolutely amazing this episode!

There are a ton of tiny things that would take forever to list but as far as big plot moments they havent changed much. They removed alot of sex scenes because there is a ton of them its a smut book so.. and removed some filler stuff that doesnt have overall huge significance. The car scene went a bit different GZ didnt ask at all basically FC raped him..under the guise of therapy. But id reccomend checking it out yourself its a good novel overall. some parts I dont like but...still worth checking out if your curious about the detailed differences.

This is easily one of the best BL's ive seen come from china and the year in general...its so complex and its just immaculate im consistently blown away.
Just have to say YES YES YES! To how they adapted the car scene..look I know exaclty what the novel was going for originally but even so I feel like this adaptation was right for the screen and made the scene sit much better with a modern audience but still got the point across that FC is deeply crossing the boundaries he should keep as a therapist. But I also love the way they were arguing about the scene too and like actually critiquing it, FC, and its original intent. I absolutely loved that approach Thank you director!

Yeah this is my biggest worry, I hope they make some changes here and find other avenues of FC. because the book is on another level. And seeing that acted out would be lowkey impossible to sit through.
Finally an ep like this was finally done and needed, GZ and FC's relationship is SUPER important for the story and im glad they kept it so close to the novel because this is where its established and you begin to see the abuse of power, and the obsession begin for both the characters you havent seen before. I loved it! This parallels directly to their real life relationship thematically as well. Im sorry to say guys they have more story in the novel than zx and zz do and are just as vital so be prepaerd for more of it.
By the way, the story they are shooting is integral for the entire series if they just removed it the future eps wouldn't make sense as well as thematically. So stick with it guys, you wont regret it.
Another amazing episode each one is getting better and better. The drama scenes and ending was amazing and thats so well juxtaposed to confusing, sexual, and blurred spiral both ZZ and ZX are both experiencing are just mirroring each other so well. ugh amazing work...
This show feels just as good as Breeze of Love which is one of my all time faves. I love how quiet and intimate everything feels, the subtle glances and the amazing acting just carry the unspoken words and create such meaning, these two are such stellar actors and i cant help but be in awe.
