Yeah it's that "Oh, so this is what that feels like." moments for him as he had never even thought about people in a romantic or loving sense. His walls were built high and strong, but Dou Zhao is a nine layered weed that can grow in the harshest of climates.

Um...I say this with kindness, are we watching the same show? This isn't really a very slow on the slow burn scale & I watch a LOT of slow burns. It's an average slow burn with payoff a little past the midway point.
It's a period costume drama. Going back over my notes for the year, the romance is right on track if not ahead of some dramas with similar lengths and/or plot type.
EDIT: can't get a read on what you actually enjoy watching based on your watched list as it isn't active so I can't give examples that I know you would know/understand.

I've only seen 4 of his dramas. The one thing I can say with 100% certainty is that the boy knows how to kiss for the camera. The Best Thing should be airing soon and from the clips and BTS i've seen for that production I have high hopes of his improvement over time.
As he only just really started in the industry a few years ago...switching from electrical engineering to lead actor...imma give the man some grace.
I always give actors about a five year grace period from the start of their adult career as an actor, less so if they are classically trained, but for those street casted kids, I let the pot simmer before writing them completely off.

PS...Saw your plan to watch update...Brewing Love is binge-able, but have those tissues prepped for episode 8. This drama falls under what I call a "healing drama". So be prepared to be in your feels for the majority of the show. But for the most part is adorable and worth it.

I was like, wait a minute I've only ever really seen him in iQIYI dramas and Mango TV. Had to keep scrolling to 2021 Flourish in Time to find his last Tencent drama. Since his first drama was a Tencent drama I hope this one goes well.

After Blossom's success all eyes will be on this production. I'm hoping they got an influx of budget after the numbers came in for Blossom, but with production starting this week any added budget might not be able to go to all departments that could make use of some extra moola.

ZLH normally has great chemistry with all of his FLs, and TXW was amazing in amazing in A New Life Begins. & just going based off of this director's work...if there is one thing I know...he makes DAMN sure that his romantic leads understand the assignment...even going so far as to give them homework😉🤭🧑🏻‍❤️‍💋‍👩🏻

EDIT/PS: Production started this week so lets give the paps sometime to get those set videos rolled out to really gauge chemistry levels.

We are wrapping up a lot of arcs by episode 23, so going forward we are going to be seeing more peoples' involvement with the overall conspiracy. We'll see what once were tertiary characters moving into secondary character position. As those who were taking up side-plot showtime are now no longer relevant we have new players coming on the stage.

I don't think express will happen any sooner than the 22 because that's when the per episode express expires...if you know what I mean/or have bought express episodes before...we shall see. I just need it to drop on a day off for me because I work Christmas Eve and Day and need to be on my toes/fully rested for that crowd.

Her father at the time was out of favor in the court and she was living in her mother's home town and making a living by selling things like food. Dou Zhao's mother asked her husband to check on her friend. Zhao's father got ill while studying for the exams and the stepmother was the one who took care of him. Because the family was not in favor they didn't have the same amount of staff/servants that they once had.

By the 22 I think we'll have the final express released. Well I'm praying for the 22 because that's my day off and if they drop the final episodes on Christmas eve or day I'm cooked as I have work on both.

Episode 25 looks like someone is going to get sick and possible fireworks like the signal Song Mo uses with his men to attack.
Episode 26 looks like either a ledger of some kind or an official document.
Episode 27 have dice so gambling of some kind or leaving something to fate
Episode 28...most likely any emoji used would be too much of a spoiler or this is a transition episode
Episode 29 Dou Zhao finds out she's pregnant. (if they include the scene of him seeking advice from the palace on how to be intimate with ones wife as to not hurt the baby I will actually loose my shit)

There have been at least 3 different ones so far. Which episode are you referring to?
Once we get to Song Mo trying to court Zhao it's the actors duet that plays at the end of each episode.

Also the actress and director did an amazing job showing her fear to the audience, but keeping her calm and stoic for the people looking to her for guidance. And the scene where she can finally breakdown because he's there to catch her....yeah...cinema.
