I feel like I must have missed a scene or an episode or something. Did we see the scene of Yan Ke getting the lantern? Cause episode 36 starts and he has it. are the episodes out of order or something or did my episode end early on accident?
I see so many bored souls in the comment section. So far the only thing annoying about the show(which is my pet peeve with all modern set kdramas) if the fact I can practical set my watch by when the advertising will start. Roughly 50minutes into the episode btw. Wish it wasnt necessary as it takes me out of the drama every time, but so far it only seems to be one real ad read per episode.
Almost caught up, but will have to finish next weekend. this is my day off show because it's more complicated & sad than the others im watching. Even Rebirth is less confusing and those mofos keep coming back to life with new beef unlocked...
I didnt previously have the lore context needed to understand the basics of Veil of Shadows I do now so it's become easier to understand. First drama in a while ive had to do actually research for. 🌈the more you know🌈 level learning.
guys anyone know which kdrama has the highest number of comments?
I believe this one. as previously I thought it was Till the End of the Moon. but this one has more. I think there were already a lot before it ever aired and with so much drama with agencies etc there was lots of chatter about release time going on as well.
I'm currently watching LBTG. I felt that the romance was a little stiff and I think Arthur Chen's acting is the…
I've seen both Reba & Arthur in romance which is why I know they both can perform it well and believably. When Destiny Brings the Demon and Love Story in the 1970s were the two dramas ive watched of his that lets me know he is only partly responsible for the final product of LBTG. I'm just not sure this director knows how to do playful romance, I can see she's good at toxic/darker moments, but true romance...the camera language, atmosphere, lighting...lacks well, love. I thought, for a long time, it was because the characters were still closed off to each other, and was meh about it. But now...there is still a lack of visual warmth...attraction is show, but imo love...is muted. It's like watching a play from the nose bleeds and the actors are performing it like they would for a camera and not an audience.(really hoping you understand the difference between stage and screen acting and get what I mean). We arent really getting close to them for very long. we dont get to linger in their "inner feelings". With Love Scenery the romance felt juvenile, which was fine(I do actually like that drama) but at times felt stilted, I let that fall on the actors' performances at the time, but now seeing LBTG im seeing a...recurrence...I've never seen Lost You Forever so I cant comment on that production. It's just missing that...je ne sais quoi.
whenever they update the cast for ep 15 I need to find He Xiao's actor's name. I recognize him, but for the life of me cant remember which drama. I just remember calling him Dopey because I thought he was adorable in whatever role he was playing. because the role wasnt large i cant get the full frame/scene to see another actor/actress in my memory to track it down that way. I remember it was a period drama, but for me that doesn't narrow it down in the slightest. anyway just if you happen to know who he is or see that the cast list was updated by the admins give me a shout please.
Flower Crew got beef now😆. First time seeing Byeon Woo Seok in a lead supporting role was Flower Crew...first thing I ever saw him in was Scarlett Heart. Please please let them release the bloopers/NG. Everybody in the lead/lead support are too funny to not have diabolical NGs.
you are just gay admit it this drama haven’t been released yet so where did you watch your own ?
You know, gay means "happy" & can also mean same sex attraction. So I admit it, I am a happy queer person. I have no clue how this pertains to critiquing a director's body of work, though. It appears English either isn't your first language, which, if that's the case, go off polyglot queen. Or, you need to study more on reading comprehension & critical thinking skills. Because, the comment is about the director's ability to film romantic scenes. I cited her most recent work, Love Beyond the Grave, as the reference to WHY I feel nervous about THIS show. The show that is, checks notes, a ROMANCE. If you don't understand film critic just continue about your day. I'm talking about the technical aspects that create a piece of art.
I think i finally figured out what is missing with the cinematography...atmosphere. the thin smoke that adds depth to scenes. you might not notice it in everything you watch but when it's missing something just feels...off. I couldnt figure it out until I was watching a scene at night time interior shot in the mortal realm. everything looks too clear. there are not particles in the air to case streams of light...there is not incense or candle smoke lingering in the air. I know this is 100% not going to matter to most reading this, but for me it explains the lack of "romance" to the shots. atmosphere brings mood, depth, reality...I can understand it missing from a spirit world...but when it's missing from a mortal world it looses the grounding that connects feeling to a still image.
Watching LBTG has made me a bit nervous for the romantic scenes in this. The director is okay, but it's just not hitting like a romance should imo...idk I might be nervous for nothing, but yeah, I can't think of the best way to describe WHY I think the way I do...I'm enjoying LBTG, but I do have some critiques of the film language, lighting, framing, and overall cinematography...
I think imma have to stay out of the comment section. every time I see someone bashing this show for x, y, z reason I look up their watch list & ratings & realize why. so many people coming into a show with a preconceived notion of what it should be and that it will never be as good as x, y, z thing & so-and-so will never be as good as this person that is plastered all over my profile page...but imma act like i am a totally impartial 3rd party...😒🙃 I'm just fascinated that so many people can watch the same thing and come away with actual opposite opinions/takes. I dont recognize enough of the commenters to "hear" their voice when reading, so all it's doing is leaving a bad taste in my mouth when I original came to enjoy the show.
yall just have your tissues on stand-by.
