my dyslexia can't keep up. if anything even remotely looks similar in a translation my brain is like "oh that's the thing from before not a new word...nothing to see here."

I thought the only way she defeated him was because she completed the method herself. dude I am so confused now. I thought the reason she was in so much pain & dying was because she completed the method. or was it just because to took a blow from someone who completed it? I thought the whole explanation happened in the flashback in episode 33/34 with Mu's journal thing.

So Ping Shu killed her husband to complete the whatever method right?
So WHY didnt Qi Yun Ke kill his wife in the same way? Why go through all the mess to find his daughter if a spouse would work just as well? He had to have known that Ping Shu didnt kill any of her family members yet she stayed mentally stable. it just makes no sense. & "he's already gone mad" excuse isnt going to cut it...because he's obviously known this for a while & didnt have the ingredients to cause the crazy yet.

I dont know if she ever blames him, I believe he has a lot of guilt around it. (this plot hasn't happened yet in the show. I just know from excerpts from the novel)

They get separated when her village is attacked after he goes back to his true identity. like physically lost from one another I believe.

No other way around. ChangYu's family died because of Xie Zheng's family.

He was a member of the Wei Army & married to the daughter of a General. He was the one who was sent for reinforcements that never came. He had possession of the letter that showed Wei Yan's inaction. That was what he gave General He to give to Wei Yan to stop him from killing his daughters as well. He let the Wei assassins kill him & his wife to protect their children & gave the evidence to prove they have no knowledge of his past.

ChangYu's father is connected to the events that happened 16/17 years ago with the death of Xie Zheng's father. Changyu's father had evidence & knowledge of multiple peoples involvement. He was a loose end as well as his whole family who might have knowledge as well. The letter that Wei Yan burned from General He was the evidence that ChangYu's father gave to protect his children. He sacrificed himself(& his wife did the same) to protect ChangYu & NingNing.

oh my god...the absolute tragedy/angst that is about to unfold at the midway point. I might have to save Friday's episodes for Saturday or Sunday, cause im not ready for this.

Xie Zheng doesn't know ChungYu's father, he recognized the fighting style. The man training young Xie Zheng is, General He. The same man that swore to protect ChungYu and Ning Ning, and the one who trained Li Huai An.

I cant with the one episode a day. I'll save up like 3 or 4 at a time. so I still havent watched 31 & 32 yet. too much yet not enough happens in each episode.

ChangYu's father was a soilder in the Wei Army & went by another name. He married the daughter of a General(ChangYu & Ningning's mother) that he served under. General He & he were soilders together & would have learned the same fighting style, which is why Xie Zheng noticed the similarities. The unmarked grave i believe is from when ChangYu's parents faked their deaths 16 years ago.
There are a lot more people to meet to understand the full picture, but Xie Zheng's family pretty much caused ChangYu's parents murder. so angst incoming.

yes he is. His father's death was directly related to his uncle's inaction...Xie Zheng isnt aware of this yet. His uncle raised him to be a fighting forces for the Wei faction but you know what they say about raising tiger cubs...

im watching on Tencent because I got fed up with iqiyi & their popup reminders about the features on the video player.(I havent found a way to turn that off.

the "invester" Qi Min, I believe is a prince and the father of Madame Yu's son & her abusive ex. his face was injured and covered when they knew each other. it's been about 8ish years since they last saw each other. he is a main villain.
Li(the one who gives Chang Yu a lift in his carriage)is a rival of Xie Zheng, but they share a master/teacher, General He. The Li and the Wei family have old beef involving the court. Li is the grandson of the Grand Tutor, and Xie is the Nephew of the right chancellor Wei(also not a great man). Li is on the side of the people like Xie Zheng...he doesn't like getting involved with his family or the court.
the guy from the academy is Xie Zhengs best friend & he is the head master of the academy. the Emperor's sister, the Grand princess, has a crush on him. The dowager empress(her mother) wants to set up a betrothal to the grand tutors grandson aka Li.

i left a few things out but major spoilers. Their father was a former member of the Wei army. But he worked under a different General(father of their mother) at some point. the case 16years ago is why the Fan family were in hiding from Wei. Their father had already faked his and his wife(and daughter's) death once. he knew they(wei & another) would keep coming & gave up the evidence & his life to protect his daughter's as they didnt know anything. He wife is too close to the evidence to stay alive too. The letter the Wei assassins were looking for was already in General He's possession & was to be sent to Wei if his(fan) daughter's were ever in danger.
