I love how oblivious Xie Zheng is his own feelings for Fan Chang Yu. He's been down bad since observing her before agreeing to the marriage, but he still hasn't fully clued in that he's fully sunk.
Qi Min, I believe is a prince, & the father of the boy. His face was injured when she knew him before, so she's never seen his face before. but she ran from him with their unborn child, and I think he's been hunting her ever since.
Im hoping the little gang she adopts comes back into play when she joins the army. I enjoyed their dynamic & if she's going to be separated from Xie Zheng & Lil sis, imma need her brothers to stand ten toes down with her on her hunt.
I love this director because of his attention to detail & cinematography choices. Definitely recommend watching…
This only his second long drama. Blossom was his first. Because it did so well he got a boost in financing for this show(they had just started filming this show when Blossom was airing). He brought over a lot of his short drama techniques over into a larger production. aka knowing the shot he wants before even stepping on set with the whole cast and crew instead of just setting up multiple cameras and pulling the edit after the fact. He does a lot of practical lighting & is very good at setting the mood he wants with the light style and color. dreams/non reality are bluer, interest/love warmer tones.
Thats Chairman Mao badge. I think most people wear that in Cultural Revolution era to shown their loyalty to party
the restrictions lifted families returned. private property was reestablished, college entrance exams was started up again. This was a boom of ideas, engineering & innovation.
I really like our lead couple & his sister & her husband. Can't really get into the brother and bestie's relationship cause everything about them is either boring or straight pissing me off. I usually end up watching their bits at 2x or even 3x speed. I feel bad, it's just feeling repetitive with them unlike the other couples who seem to make headway or new information is dropped.
Im hoping that because this is set in 1975(the tail end of the Cultural Revolution Period) that we might actually get to see Fei Ni accepted into university, once the entrance exams are put back into effect. I'm only on episode 4 so if more time has passed in recent episodes im unaware. That period in time upended in the 3rd quarter of 1976. 1977/78 was a huge boom for China academically speaking, setting the groundwork for decades of academic & engineering achievements. I'm loving the slow burn romance so far. Got the very beginning of what im assuming will be the second couple with his sister & the doctor on the train. Arthur truly excels at longing, which is what you need in a ML for a slow burn.
Im only 2 eps in.. does the ML have any character development or does he stay weak until the end?
Of the younger generation he's the strongest technically speaking. He's putting on an act, & he is also poisoned...so we've never seen him at his actual full strength.
15 years ago, Aunt kills Nie Heng Cheng 10 years later so 5 years ago, Aunt (Cai Ping Shu) dies of her internal injuries from the fight ten years prior. 2 years ago MuMu's father succumbs to his poisoning. 1 year ago MuMu shows up to Chang Fort injured and freshly poisoned. EP1 MuMu(disguised as Chang Ning) meets Zhaozhao for the first time. A month passes of him at Qingque Sect healing from the unknown attackers of Chang Fort massacre. She then arrives at the sect to learn for a year. Parents leave little brother with her for about a month or two to investigate in the Li(demonic) sect about what happened at Chang Fort.
I'm not 100% sure what time of year it is anymore. I don't know how long it's been since Zhaozhao originally came to Qingque sect to train as of episode 19.
I don't know how old the lead characters are supposed to be to accurately gage when the generation above them were doing things and meeting each other. Like how long ago did his uncle meet his aunt etc. I think we'll get to that information soon though. Also we've seen the demoness who eloped with villains. but we still haven't met the one who lived with beasts or the one obsessed with poisons. I'm wondering if the editing made us lose more insight in to the beast one because she did use her blood to hatch the dragon egg....so....did I have a long blink or did we just get screwed over in the edit? But it's very clear all the Luoying valley were maliciously maligned because they saw the good in the Li sect or others who the "righteous" sect deemed to be evil.
I'm wondering if it's someone we've already met, like the wheelchair-doctor-uncle. Or if Mu's uncle is still alive,…
Her master was in love with her Aunt. Her Aunt fell in love with Mu's uncle and most likely wanted to runaway with him. I suspect the master most as the man in black because he has the greatest incentive to kill off the Mu family. I think that wheelchair uncle might suspect him as well and that's the susness I'm picking up from him. He definitely knows more than he's telling Zhaozhao. I'm wondering if he witnessed her master killing fellow sect members. I can't remember if they've shown how wheelchair uncle was injured yet. But I think that her Master manipulated her Aunt into believing her lover killed her sect members. I'm spit balling based on how prominent obsessive love plays into this story.
ML’s face saved the first 10 episodes 😁 but now the story is getting more interesting. His mother is the…
I can only think of MiLs or step-mothers in the cdrama's I've watched lately that were this level. I wonder if this is what the women of 'My Journey to You' would have been like if they didn't actually fall for their targets. Other than The First Frost I can't think of any protagonists' mother being down right evil/abusive person in a cdrama. The Glory, Reborn, Our Generation, and Love's Ambition all dealt with difficult mother's who thought they knew what was best for their child(The Glory, Reborn) but Our Generation and Love's Ambition had a bit more abuse/neglect both emotional/physical.
Sooo looking forward for the next episodes... 💕💕Now, who's the man in black..The wheelchair guy gives me…
I'm wondering if it's someone we've already met, like the wheelchair-doctor-uncle. Or if Mu's uncle is still alive, but I would be so sad if his father's twin killed his father and also poisoned him. There is even a chance it's Zhao's own master. I don't really trust any of the men in the righteous sects at the moment. I could see her master wanting to kill the Mu family after her aunt fell in love with ML's uncle(twin brother of his father).
Literally the only issue with this show is some editing mistakes. I can over look the mistakes for the most part, but I can understand if others have a harder time overlooking it. I had a really hard time with Speed and Love's editing problems. It progressively got worse as the production went on. I'm hoping that the back half of this show has less issues. So it's not going to be a 10/10 for me because I actually have this aspect of a show listed as a rating point, but the other aspects are keeping the score high.
Generation to Generation the Mu men of the Li sect are obsessed with the women of Cai Zhao's family. Obsessive, possessive devotion to the women in her family line to the point of absolute devastation. Every generation a new pair of star-crossed lovers fall and meet a tragic end. Because of their sects' misconceptions and deep-seated hatred for one another the lovers are always pulled apart or destroyed from within. The women are labeled witches and demonesses all because they saw the humanity in the Li sect and tried to stop the slaughter of both the demon and righteous sects.
I'm looking forward to diving deeper into her Aunt and his Uncle's past and how they ended up enemies once more. Also, there seems to always be a fellow member of the woman's sect who "loves" her and ruins everything, by not minding their business. An endless cycle that is at the end of the line, because he is the last Mu(that I'm aware of).
I just think it's kind of convenient that Qian Xue Shen body was destroyed seconds after death. The character that can alter other's appearance, to the point you can't tell it's not the original person without killing them and the original appearance returning. He looked like he recognized the man at the inn(the one who swooped in and grabbed the boss lady). So he's on my "to be determined" dead list as of now. They also gave attention to a little toy sword. So I hope we circle back to that later for something.
