So happy this aired today! Liu Xueyi is magnificent as usual! Really liking it so far!

Definitely, I’m a die hard Liu Xue Yi fan so I watch anything he is in! I just had read the novel and happened to have Qian Yan as my favorite character and so was sad about him not being cast.

It’s just a shame because his character has a lot of depth and really was an ally to Mei Lin. I just wonder how they’ll change the little himbo Yue Qin to fill in the gap

Wait so they completely cut out an important character, Qian Yan?! Is it because he’s gay… so they switched and had her marry Yue Qin instead? What about the ghost guy from the stone forest…

I actually hope they don’t change it as it would take away from the author’s intention to write an anti-war book. Soldiers are suffering like Li Zan daily and it’s good for people to be aware of their suffering, and understand the realities of PTSD etc.
just my hope/opinion for the drama.

I feel it’s a realistic ending even with the extra chapters. For me I felt emotional but content after the ending so I won’t call it a bad ending.
