I actually liked EP2 the most, then EP3. Can I ask why it was boring? I laughed so hard at Tankhun, even though…
I'm glad you asked XD But forgive me if I get anything wrong about the show in my explanation below.
Episode three, in my opinion, had very little going for it. Nearly half the episode was spent on comedy with Tankhun, which honestly felt like forced humor. I know they were going for a 'Tankhun is so weird, you would have met no one like him' feels and the audience grasped that in the first 5-10 minutes. I did give out a laugh or two, but they could have shortened the humor down to how much was required and could have used the rest for plot building. And then, as I said, it got better for me when they started having a 'real conversation.' (I did mention I had a problem with the pacing of the first 20-25 mins only)
Also, it's been three episodes, and maybe the directors or filmmakers may have their own plans, but I don't see much depth in the background or character of anyone except Porsche. Kinn might have a little 'I wasn't given a choice' thing going on, but I wish the show would keep us in the light, if only gradually, about his life since he's supposed to be the other protagonist. And we honestly don't see much of any other character apart from these two. We saw Te and Time twice or thrice so far, and they weren't even introduced well.
Another thing that got to me is that many scenes were spent in the bar, dancing, and it was all fun to watch the first time, but it just got repetitive later. They could have shortened the montage and spent that time on other meaningful stuff. Like I really appreciated the conversation Pete and Porsche shared about the 'heroes' and the conversation Kinn and Porsche shared at the deck in the end. It gave their relationships some depth. I don't expect the whole show to be a mix of such scenes, but adding them when necessary is essential, and they could have had a significant number of such scenes in the third episode.
I hope you get the basic idea of where I am coming from.
I am one of those who's been waiting for this show since its first trailer came out nearly two years ago. I have been just as excited as everyone else to watch it after the long wait. And I still have the patience to watch this till the end even if it's absolute crap, which gladly it is not.
But I wish the pacing gets better and the plot gets more serious. I want to fall in love with the characters rather than just merely liking them, and I think, for many (at least for me), that will depend on the kind of storytelling sequence that Kinn and Porsche are incorporated into.
Honestly, the first half of episode three made me question why I was watching this in the first place... that's how bored I was :') But I guess the latter half got quite good. Like the show in itself is not bad so far. The first episode was amazing, the second one not so much, and the third one had its ups and downs. I just hope it gets a bit more consistent with the plot and emotions and action cause I can hardly feel any connection with anyone except Porsche. Despite all that, I can't wait for ep 4!
I LOVE THIS SOOOO MUCH! It was perfect and I'm not even done watching it. Still on ep 9. I'm kinda dreading the last episode cause there won't be any more after that.
Personally, I felt like the first 28-29 mins of the episode was a bit weak.... especially the introduction of Kinn (could have gone hard with the character intro for him)... but then the later half of the episode had won me over and now I can't wait a week for another one.
I'm sooo lost... will I have to get a VIP iQiyi account to watch the series? Or will it be free on YT and iQiyi? Or will I have to pay only if I want to watch the Uncut version? Can someone please explain :')
I'm late to the party, but I finally got around to ordering the HOB vol. 1 book as the prices finally went down (for a day), and my joy knows no bounds ðŸ˜ðŸ˜ðŸ˜ðŸ˜ðŸ˜ðŸ˜
Is this what winning the world feels like??? I HAVE BEEN ECSTATIC FOR TWO DAYS NOW, AND I STILL HAVEN'T EVEN HELD THE BOOK YET !!! (Gonna arrive next Thursday :'))
The second episode was BEAUTIFUL :') This show is so minimalistic. Not with the budget, but with the drama and fluff. And I love that about it so far. It's so serene to watch with the right amount of emotion, and it's the perfect break for me as I deal with the stress of uni... also falling in love with Xiao Zhan ALL OVER AGAIN...
This is by far the best Korean BL I've seen so far! The cast was great, the acting was great, the script was great, the music was great. They used up every short minute of the show carefully. I only wished there was one more episode before the 6th episode so there was more story to develop the feelings between the leads so we connected to it more. I love it!
This show is super cute and all, but it feels like a bunch of clips from a person's life put together. It's probably the editing...? Like the previous scene and the next scene sometimes feel disconnected or random. But still like the sweetness of the plot :)
The production value is definitely low and the script is meh but the main leads are doing a decent job and I'll watch it to the end. At this point, I'm just happy we are getting BL's in Chinese one way or another lmao
Hey! Can you please cover this as a spoiler!!!Um so I watched WOH LONG AGO so my memories are kind of vague. Ah…
The novel doesn't even have the story that happens in the drama so it doesn't answer questions 2 and 3. But someone in the comments seem to have answered it for u :)
