Very likely that Dong Hee is the killer... he seems almost obsessed with Chi Yeol... it isn't explicitly shown, but in the 10th ep, when Chi Yeol went missing, he seemed too anxious rather than concerned. And in normal dramas, with someone who has as much screen time as Dong Hee, we'd know at least a little bit of his personal life, but that isn't the case for him. He's almost too good to be true, but still, everything about him is a mystery. And Hee Jae seems like the killer, which must be a misdirection because both Dong Hee and Hee Jae have a similar build.
Edit: And I also see that a lot of ppl have guessed the same below... but guess we'll find out soon and it isn't dragged too long.
Anyone else find it strange that they didn't address the bad teacher being murdered in this ep and they carried…
I don't think u missed anything... I was wondering about the stalker too. And then I assumed since it was just a metal ball shot from quite far, it should have just knocked her out and not killed her? Maybe she'll surface later in the show? Maybe the bad teacher's body isn't found yet? (but this seems unlikely since the academy should have checked up on him once they couldn't reach him, right?) Too many unanswered question, and I just hope they don't turn into plot holes...
I understand that your comment comes from your point of view, and I respect it, but if you are interested, here is how I see the show through my lenses while I oppose your views. The games of season two might not seem as exciting because the story becomes repetitive. It's them just trying to survive over and over again, just playing different games and we all as viewers know for a fact that Arisu most probably will win all of them. So, if getting an adrenaline rush while watching action isn't your cup of tea, it's totally normal to feel bored (I did too, for a few moments here and there). However, since you are almost done with the show, I highly suggest you to complete it (if you didn't already) and maybe see if you like the ending? The story, imo, has little significance when compared to the immense character development of each character. Despite being an action thriller, it's safe to say that this show is a play on emotions, survival, and meaning. The backstories make us empathise with the characters more and more and (answering you) we should care because many of these stories are what happens to people around us irl. But cinematically, the backstories exist to help us connect with the life and deaths of the characters we slowly grow to care about and I think it worked for quite a few of us considering the super high ratings this show got. I personally found the main leads' romance to be wholesome and very cute.
They really just left the joker card to us, didn't they.... the way this show played my heart isn't something I'll get over in a day or two... my goodness this show was something else entirely...
I so agree - her female shape is plainly accentuated by the choice of costumes. And she does look too mature and…
She's been growing on me ngl... I have also never questioned her acting because I just know how well she can act. And the fight sequences are just chefs kiss. And about the age... it's not entirely about how old the actress is but the aura she carries. For example, Yang Zi, despite being 30, can pull off playing a 16 year old, but Dilraba, despite being 30, can play a 40 year old because of her mature stage presence imo. But 16 is not it for her...
So... I'm 26 episodes in, and I did skip quite a bit of the plot, but that's because most of the plot after ep 15 felt like it was just Ashile Sun saving Li Chengge... and Ashile Sun's undying love for her that she's too stubborn to value... I love Wu Lei and started watching this for him, but the romance is just so frustrating, and I seriously hope it gets better...
I so agree - her female shape is plainly accentuated by the choice of costumes. And she does look too mature and…
Wait a min... she's supposed to be 16?? What? (And how old is Ashile Sun supposed to be?) Then they should have gone for Zhao Lu Is or someone with her air as the first main lead... she pulled it off in LLTG...
I'm just one episode in, and these are just my personal opinions... No hate to the actress at all, but Dilraba seems too mature to have a voice that sounds like a 15-year-old... She's great when she's fighting but the moment she starts talking, I can't take her seriously lol... the voice actor should've been different. I imagine her as someone playing a powerful CEO boss lady rather than a young playful princess... so it's a little unsettling, if I may say so... And if they were going to disguise her as a man, maybe put in some effort with the disguise? The action so far is AMAZING, but the camera angles are just soooo weird someone pls tell me the editing gets better :')
I absolutely love the King, the Queen, and his concubine! They are such nice people to the ML and FL so far (as nice as they can get, at least), smart, witty, and upright, which isn't really a trait that's given to characters in their positions in most palace dramas.
Is it just me, or did the script get super good in the second season? Like the FL's lines are so wholesome now... or maybe it's cause of character development? Anyway, I'm loving it!
Just my opinions: I knew that the FL was 15 in the start of the show, but considering everything that happened in the first 24 episodes, I thought she'd be like 17 or smt when she got engaged. I'm not one for hating on the age gap or any of that, and I get that all this happened even irl back in the day, but the FL's emotional intelligence when it comes to love right now is akin to that of a 10-year-old. Despite her being cute, clever, witty, and intelligent, I think someone as mature and independent as the ML doesn't deserve someone who still hasn't sorted out her own definition of love. However, I can't blame her since the ML pulled out a scum move by not even giving her a chance to reject his proposal. I get that he didn't want to lose another chance with her, considering how willing she is to get betrothed to whoever might put forth the idea and sweet-talks her for 30 seconds, but it frustrates me to think that this is the solution he thought of.
Also, I don't dislike CSS's mother. She is definitely not a mother I'd want to have, and she's not ideally perfect in any way. She's also at fault for how she deals with her daughter a lot of the time, but I can't help but like her as a character. I want to see what effort she puts into redeeming her relationship with CSS in the future (I hope she does have some character development cause I'd be sorely disappointed if she remains this way throughout). Considering she's an accomplished military figure, her current role has been restricted to being a mean mother and a wife, which I thought was a waste of a well-written character; however, I'm assuming the politics don't extend to the family part of the show.
It takes a while, but it's worth it! (idrc which ep exactly, apologies) If it helps: She doesn't really like the…
Heyy got it! I think where I am rn, I am very involved in the plot but the main leads chemistry is undeniably great and despite my complains, there's no way I'm going to stop watching it. :) On ep 22 and it's gotten quite interesting.
I'm at ep.10 and it still so boring.... when the romance get started already?...it is really too slow
The plot itself is quite slow. I'm on ep 16 and the romance is close to nil. I honestly am quite engaged with the acting and cinematography and to an extent, even the plot, but so far, the romance is a total bummer... (In fact, I'm also quite frustrated with the relationship between the FL and her love interests)... But I personally will continue watching. So if you are watching for the romance, maybe this isn't going to be very satisfying? I don't know...
Guyss... do any of you know how to find an English translation of Sui Yu Tou Zhu (Crushing Jade and Casting Pearls) and Mint Stained Shirt? I've been dying to read these two books, but the translations have been taken down :')

I can deal with slow burn, but not when a harem is involved ahhh this is torture...
Can someone pls tell me when the FL will finally realise she might like the ML?
This was a beautiful and heartwarming watch.
