Why did the author do that? Did the production team disrespect their wishes? :(
I definitely wouldn't want my novel censored, but if it were to be made like the Untamed, or Word of Honor where the romance, though not blatantly obvious, is quite clear, I think I wouldn't mind it as long as it does the story justice. And well... from what I comprehend after reading the letter, it seems like there were problems during the production... which is when she cut ties right? Can't really blame the author tho... who wouldn't want their works to have adaptations?
For non-VIPs, 3 episodes per week, Mon-Wednesday 7PM on their Youtube Channel. The latest episode we have now…
Thank you! and ... Oh noooo :"( Will have to wait very long then, but glad today is a Monday!... better than kdramas, but 3 per week is just.... depressing for me rn
Guys, what is the schedule for the release of English subs? How many episodes do we get each week?... I'm trying to watch it as slowly as possible but I am already on episode ten... and it's scary how much I am addicted to this show rn... :')
be in the look out for Immortality, Winner is King, seizing dreams, chasing the light... Meanwhile, if u want BL, then check out We Best Love, I Told Sunset About You (amazing imo), Life Senjou No Bokura, Cherry Magic and check the recommendations of those pages (though not at all comparable with the Untamed, and not of the same genre, they are engaging enough) Or if u want bromance, then, Word of Honor is the next close thing to TU u will find. Although currently airing and they're of different themes, the story and plot and bromance in WOH is great! Winter Begonia- though I haven't watched it yet, I hear it is very different and worth a watch. Killer and Healer- I still haven't watched it but again, heard good stuff about it.
Some people say the bromance dies down halfway??? I really hope not!!!!
The thing is, I wouldn't have notice this if I didn't read the comments... Like I would have been happy just watching it... but after reading those comments that said the bromance dies down, I'll probably be in the lookout for where that's happening and will fail to enjoy the show the way I could have. :'( .... I guess we just gotta judge it for ourselves and watch it from our perspective... For me, as long as Wen Kexing and Zhou Zishu care for each other and smile at each other with sparkling eyes once in a while, I will consider it fulfilling and it differs for each... :") Let's just hope for the best.
You all should watch Ever Night if you haven't yet. I swear feiyu's performance in it completely outshined rest…
Glad to know there's someone else out there with the same opinions as me ;) XD Meatbun is my goddess and I will forever worship her! See the thing is, as superficial and picky as this might sound, I'm sure I'll be unable to watch Ever Night for a few years after watching Immortality cause I wouldn't be able to unsee Feiyu as Mo Ran and it's be weird seeing him with another girl.... so... I am still thinking of what to do haha And yasss... Word of Honor is GOOD! I'm on ch 61 and ep 9 and I haven't liked a drama this much for a while.
Why did the author do that? Did the production team disrespect their wishes? :(
Idk anything about this novel, drama, author...I just came here randomly from the recommendations of Word of Honor... and read this article cause I got curious. Ngl, the author's letter sounds like it is filled with sarcasm. I don't know if the translation is not right, but if the translation of her letter is perfect, then it feels like she is unhappy about the changes made and is telling the scriptwriter that she gives up and trying to change their opinion by calling them great and mocking herself... Is that really the case? If yes, that's too sad...
Let me just put this here... all morals and what they did wrong and what could have been right aside (talking about the drinking incident here), as a viewer, as a fan of the very light-hearted and warm, cliche season one, I would just like to say that a good show is supposed to make you feel with it and empathize with it, and here, I am able to empathize with both the characters as I should (be it the one in the wrong or right). The acting has upgraded by a lot, especially Yu's(the scenes where he's super angry) and I LOVE it! The angst is real and I'm all here for it... Overall, so far, I dare to say I like this more than season 1... and as a danmei reader, this feels straight out of a danmei novel haha... since we don't get Chinese BL's, this is a great alternative XDXDXD It's a personal opinion, please don't hate. (The comment section on this page is crazily opinionated and argumentative and it's a bit scary XD haha)
Thanks! And thank you for the link to the interview! ... TGCF is in good hands indeed! I am so happy with the way the first season turned out... really couldn't ask for more! And... lets not talk about the adaptations from the west XDXDXD... especially not Fallen...lmaoo... And trueeee! Chinese adaptations try their best to be true to the story despite the censorships and even if they change the story, most of the time the essence remains the same (there are a few exceptions of course)
You all should watch Ever Night if you haven't yet. I swear feiyu's performance in it completely outshined rest…
Oh my gosh... I really want to!!! Don't get me wrong... I have watched about a hundred K, C and J 'straight' rom coms or romances and I have nothing against them... But every since the Untamed, I've been watching only BL and Bromance and I am unable to watch 'straight romances' after that :'( (It's not that I want to be this way... but I'm unable to help it...) I even tried watching Chicago Typewriter, Arsenal Military Academy, It's Okay Not To Be Okay, (... a few others...) and even Love Is Sweet (for Luo Yunxi... I watched half the drama before I lost interest and I watched half the drama FOR Luo Yunxi..)... and gave up in less than 5 episodes in most cases.... so this is the state Untamed has put me in.... And I heard Ever Night was realllly good and I don't want to spoil it for myself watching it half-heartedly just for Chen Feiyu... So I've been holding myself back until I find the right time... I'm a bit baffled at how long this phase is lasting tbh XD....
Thank you! I randomly opened a chapter about two months ago to see how the MTL was and.... well.... I think that was the wrong chapter... I randomly opened another chapter rn and it seems decent (above my expectations actually)! DAMNNN OMG I think I am going to read this veryyy soon! (Currently reading Tian Ya Ke because of Word of Honor lol) And woah... the VA of SQQ was sooo quirky hehe... I look forward to it even more now! And I think it's a part of their marketing strategy to drop bombshells...? XD.... I mean, it'd be a lie if we say it didn't work in building the hype... And how do u know they have confirmed only 3 seasons???!!! OMG THIS IS A BOMBSHELL FOR ME NOW! Where and when have they said that??!!! :'(((( I think I'm going to cry.... oh god noooo... even if the next two seasons have 11 eps like the first season, then I doubt they'll even be able to reach the end of book 1 at this pace :'(.... let's just hope that the popularity of TGCF only goes up... And HOB's LA is the first drama ever that I'll be following from it's initial pre-production and I plan to treat it as a baby... XDXDXD For my entertainment purposes of course, but also because I'm a devoted danmei lover... I also trust Chinese casting... Immortality, Word Of Honour, The Untamed... these all have only deepened my trust XDXD But latest rumours say Ding ChengXin is gonna play XL... and I honestly don't mind! (The story of an edit of Ding ChengXin on this account https://www.instagram.com/huachqng/ is what changed my mind! He looks incredible!) And I feel spoilt too! We are being very well fed and I'm all here to get fat!
Honestly when I first finished reading the book and I looked up who would play Moran, I was shocked! He looks…
Sameeee! And Chen Feiyu seems good!!! I haven't watched any of his works but I've been following him diligently and found out he's a method actor! That already shows how devoted he is to work... and he's also a child actor, so we have so much to look forward to! I also watched clips from ever night and he seemed quite good in it! And in the Immortality leaks, I watched so far, his portrayal of TXJ in still life was fabulous! Just with his stare, one can measure how ferocious he can be. And his portrayal of Mo Zongshi and Mo Ran are no less compared to how well he looked in TXJ's character (I'm only talking about the pictures and the aura he is emitting from them)... Now as long as he can stare lovingly and hatefully (when required) at CWN, I think we should be fine...
I really want to read Thousand Autumns before watching the donghua.... by chance, do u have an MTL version of the untranslated chapters that seem readable ? :')... I am desperate to read it... And yesss! Just checked out the trailer for MDZS 3 and.... I need time to take it in... it was a sudden surprise for me when I found out the third season is coming out soon and my friend (who's almost as crazy as me) didn't know about it too (for the exact same reason as me) and we have been chiding ourselves for ignoring it lmaoo And TGCF special ep was chef's kiss! I genuinely though it would be a filler, but who thought it was actually the continuation... can't wait for the ghost city and the dice game arc!
And well... from what I comprehend after reading the letter, it seems like there were problems during the production... which is when she cut ties right?
