This review is not about the show but, rather, a criticism of the community who likes it. Half of the review is just trashing the show's fans with ad hominems. She called the fans "hysterical" and "toxic." It took her 3 full paragraphs before she finally said, "Oh, and about the show itself." Well, yea, it's supposed to be about the show in the 1st place. But for her, it was personal because, apparently, she was on a fan site and got into an argument with someone, and then carried her personal anger over to the review section. Please consider how this is a form of exploiting the review section to vent personal anger. That is not the purpose of a review and, hence, I think everyone should simply ignore it.

I feel so dense, but I cannot find it. All I see on the left is the following:

Wow, I did not know that. How come I never see comments? Do they go only to the person who wrote the review? I got a comment once, but only I saw it. It's not there when I check my review. It just came to me with a notification the way your comments do. Only everyone can see comments here. In that section I think only the person with the actual account can see it. Yea, but not necessarily "bad" so much as a total dork, lol. I mean, he missed every damn signal when it was so obvious. When Kyioi asked why he changed his number -- bam -- right there he should have thought, "Wow, that means Kyioi tried to call me!" But instead he just shrugs and gives a literal answer, "It fell in the water." lol. He's almost aspergers with how he misses signals. But not quite, cuz aspergers people don't fall in love the way he did. And he became gentle and able to touch eventually. He was just so closed off cuz of how he was ridiculed his whole life. I can see that.

arghh, I keep losing the link for the CD, which I want to check again for something. I translate it to English with the "auto translate." Can somebody give me that link again? It won't come up when I do a search for it using the movie title and CD. I don't know why.

I wanted to report it, but I wasn't sure what to say. Then I realized I could report it as a comment that is not about the movie, but instead, it uses and ad hominems to criticize a community when she called us "hysterical" and "toxic." That is not about the film, but a personal attack. That is what you and I should both say about it. With 2 reports they should listen, right?

Guys, make sure you all leave reviews. There are 45 now and most are great reviews. But there's this one woman who left a 2 rating an d proceeded to write a "review" that was actually not even about the movie, but about us. She complained that when she criticized the show, the community who loved it became "hysterical" and "toxic." I recognized her as somebody who was on this page and clearly became pissed off at us. Really, over half the review is all about us, not the film. I think people will ignore it, but still, it was shitty of her.

You cannot comment on reviews, but you can sort of proxy respond by leaving a great review to counteract hers. Please do!

If you cannot get enough BL, another good one that deals with obsession and with a character who starts off as a jerk, but is redeemed, is "Uncontrolled Love." It is Chinese, but since it's a 2 part movie not a series, it has kissing. But you need to be careful and pull up "Happy Ending" for part 2 cuz that's the one that is not censored. The censored version is so cut up it makes no sense, and has a miserable ending (eg, the gay guys must die in Chinese censored ones). But the version with a happy ending is wonderful. It's my 2nd fav BL after "My Beautiful Boyfriend" but it does not get as much attention as it does not show up that often on lists. But it's a must-see for those who like this genre.

The Japanese also have less violence with knives and everything else. They are less violent than Americans period. Less crime and less violence of all types, not just less gun violence. That's why for them, a violent image is merely symbolic. Again, it's only Americans who literally blow up in violent modes. I think it's about us being spoiled and not able to control our tempers. The Japanese have a saying, "Order, Restraint, Discipline," and they abide by it. Americans, conversely, have a saying, "Do what makes you feel good."

It's as harmless as someone saying, "I am going to kill you" as a metaphor for anger. It's not lazy, but a legitimate form of showing a character who's frustrated. I can see how it's not your favorite image, and it was not mine either (but only because it was too cartoonish). Indeed, that's how fake it was. Only an American could take this stuff literally. Btw, I knew you were American just by your comment -- because we are the problem and thus, we see it this way. In fact, I have heard Japanese make jokes about us and our guns. I am so ashamed of us when it comes to gun violence. I really am. Maybe you and I can agree on this one thing. :)

Americans are the ones who go around shooting up high schools and yet they judge a culture like Japan that has NO gun violence as if they were us. We are the ones who cannot use gun imagery because we are the ones who cannot control ourselves. The Japanese are just fine with such imagery. I mean, really, do you realize how galling it is to tell a culture with no gun violence that you are, as you say, "not even remotely ok" with their artistic choice to use gun imagery? Keep that lecture for Americans.

Guys, I just noted in Viki's new translation that there are a couple of years between high school and college, whereas I thought it had just been a year. Is that how it is in the novel too? It helps explain the characters' change. At first I thought that Kiyoi had changed too much and that the disconnect between his past and present self lacked continuity of character, and was a flaw in the show. But now that I know it has been a couple of years, it makes more sense cuz they boys would have grown up a lot in that time.

I teach college English and I'm always surprised at how much my students will change from little kids Frosh year, to serious adults Senior year. Those couple of years make all the difference. In this story's case, it's also relevant that Kiyoi is no longer being praised by a small clique of high school kids. He's been out in the real world a couple years, where praise is much harder to come by, and he's also hanging out with professional actors who will not fawn all over him . Given all of this, those extra years make a difference. I just wonder if it's in the novel too.

lol, hung like an elephant! Your comment cracked me up. And I was also glad the show Addicted chose to omit the novel's outlandish bit on the anal sex. BTW, it was just as bad in the scene where the boys switch and Gu Ha gets penetrated. Gu Ha's friend is worried cuz he's in bed for days, so they tell his dad he's sick. The dad proceeds to fly in military doctors who land on the roof in helicopters! I thought, jesus christ, does this writer actually think that gay sex is something akin to war and death?
