I agree with everyone here who is baffled that this show's not getting better ratings. Most Thai BL's have those silly sound effects (eg, zonk, zing, buzz, etc.) and are, in general, sort of cheesy. They feel like they've been manufactured on an assembly line. In fact, Thailand produced over 100 BL's just last year! BL's are one of Thailand's gross national products and they are so significant to the nation's economy that they are accounted for by Thailand's Department of Labor.

When a country makes a 100 BLs a year, then you gotta assume many will be cheesy and cheap. But this is a high quality, serious show. So why the hell is it not getting attention? The cinematography alone should warrant attention. And the acting is also worthwhile, especially when one considers that all of 6 these guys are relative newcomers, with little experience outside of a couple of guest appearances on some TV shows. Given this, they have done a fine job.

The only one I have a bit of a problem with is the actor playing Fah. Fah/Thorn's kiss last week was lame and I gotta say, it's most likely his fault, because the actor playing Thorn is always good. But there's nothing he can do when he's playing against an actor who's a tad stiff. Did anyone else notice that it was a mere lip kiss without any tongue? It was such an unpassionate kiss that no other part of their faces moved. Meanwhile, you could not only hear Sean and Aii's tongues in action, but you could see their entire jawlines moving, lol. It was just one more example of why Sean/Aii are ruling this show for me!

Depending on how long each semester in a Thai university is, I would say that at least 3 months tops are the timeline…
Good explanation. Thank you. I was looking for explanations that would help make this more believable, because it helps make the show more enjoyable for me if something makes sense. Now, I still think a patient would've needed more time to recuperate no matter what in reality. But hey, this is not reality, it's a show! LOL. So I only need it to make at least a little bit of sense. And your explanation does make this part of the plot make at least a little bit of sense. :)

It also distracted me!! But how long has Black been in a coma?
Listen, even 2-4 months in a coma would mean a patient cannot just wake up, spring out of bed and then have the strength to wrestle someone down in his bedroom. It is not at all believable. I just decided to let it go and suspend disbelief, as they say, in order to go on enjoying the show. But it is definitely a lazy move on the screenwriter's part to make this happen with the character. They could've found a way to have him recuperate a while and still make the plot work, but they did not because they wanted to move the plot along in an easier way.

So don't be mad at me. Be mad at the screenwriters.

Good reply. Thanks for the explanation, cuz that does make more sense.

It also makes it easier for me to accept the situation and enjoy the show. I just needed to find a way to see that whole thing as believable to satisfy myself, so thanks.

I was thinking the same thing... Maybe he was not in a coma, but drugged. If Todd was the one that put him there,…
No, it had to have been a coma, and Todd could not have lied cuz it was a hospital where real doctors give the status. But I guess I just have to think about it the way the person above said and "suspend disbelief" even if it is unrealistic. But it really did distract me, lol.

As kevin hart once said: every great story has moments of disbelief lol
Yep, I guess I just have to look at it that way. :)

It also distracted me!! But how long has Black been in a coma?
It had to have been at least 6 months based on all the action that happened in between. Consider how they had time to do the fire at Tawi's and the break in at the manufacturers, and all the time required to build on-line attention to draw that crowd at the protest. Then there's the fact that it needed a lot of time for White to live with them to make them believe he was Black. Moreover, there had to had to been a lot of time for Sean and Black to have fallen in love. I mean, a substantial amount of time had to have passed for all of this to happen. So Black had to have been in that coma for at least 6 or 9 months.

Anyway, I just think the director could have found a better way to handle this. He could've had him awaken and still be in the hospital recuperating and make the story still work somehow. There are creative ways to still make a story work. But I think the screenwriter got lazy on this point.

Ok, so ep 9 was great, with a beautifully done opening scene of White and Sean, and as always, all the scenes of Yok and Dan were perfection. But there were 2 scenes where it was so unrealistic that it pulled me out of the reverie of being into the story, and made me think, "wtf"?

One, Sean and White jumping over a distance that even a Gold Medal Olympian could not do. Olympic gold medalists could not have jumped over the distance that they did at that lake even if they were doing a pole vault. Yet Sean and White, who were not even amateur college athletes, let alone Olympic athletes, did it without a pole. I glossed over it when it all the guys jumped over an insane distance in that other episode where they all jumped over the roof, so I thought, ok, let it go in this episode too. After all, it was just one crazy thing to overlook.

But then the director gave us not one, but two, crazy things to overlook, because we had Black waking up from a coma and ten minutes later he's healthy enough to wrestle with White in his room. I'm sorry, but people who've been in a coma for as long as he was would be so sick on awakening that they would not be able to walk for months without physical therapy. People in comas lose muscle tone and also lose drastic amounts of weight cuz they are on a feeding tube of only liquids for nourishment. They have not moved for so long that they lose all sense of coordination and must have physical therapy to relearn how to walk and move, etc. Yet there's Black, looking all healthy and chipper and ready to fight 10 minutes after awakening. Christ, couldn't the directory at least have had found a way to make the story work while having the character sit in the hospital a couple of weeks after awakening before running away from the hospital?

Don't get me wrong, I love this show and I loved this episode. But when things happen that are super unrealistic, it just pulls me out of the state of "suspended disbelief" and ruins that reverie where you're believing in the story. It's a shame, cuz it was a good episode, but I was like, come on, stop giving us scenes that ruin the reverie of believing in the characters as if they are real. These 2 scenes almost ruined it for me. But I say "almost" because they did not really ruin it for me and I still enjoyed the episode. But they certainly distracted me and it is a shame. Cuz it was an amazing episode otherwise.

Did these scenes distract anyone else? Or is it just me?

Where are you all seeing ep 9? I cannot find it anywhere. It's not on youtube or Boys love Paradise, which usually has new episodes.

if I remember correctly he was holding a fire torch in that painting? Not sure tho? ...I was just laughing so…

I think You knew it was him just because of the torch that the man in the painting was holding. Dan met Yok in…
Yes, the torch makes sense. Thx. But as for the video, even if Todd's lying about not knowing her, it still makes no sense cuz Black's next question, would've been "Well, if Todd doesn't know who Eugene is, then who sent me that video?" See? It doesn't make sense. But I'll just overlook it as the rest of the show is good :)

Thx. The fire torch makes sense. But I still think the video makes no sense, as Gramm had no reason to send Black a video of his girlfriend . Why would he say you're in danger just cuz you and your girlfriend are in a video doing normal boyfriend/girlfriend stuff? I looked to see if they let us see the phone where there's an image of the video sender, but they did not show the phone screen in a way for us to see who sent the video, so there's no way of knowing. I really think this is a plot hole in the show. But thanks for answering!

Guys, I decided to re-watch the whole show before seeing today's new episode (just cuz I thought I'd appreciate today's new episode better if I re-watched the whole show 1st), and have 2 questions about earlier episodes.

One, how did Yok know that Dan/Unar was painting him in that pix? It was a simple, cartoon like image with no distinguishing features. The face was just round with the same simple black line for a smile just like in every other image of people in his paintings. And it’s not like the guy in the painting was even wearing the same clothes as Yok. In the pix he had on a green top and white shorts, which Yok never wore. So how does Yok know it’s him?

Two, when somebody sends White a video of Eugene the girlfriend and they said in the message accompanying the video, “You may be in danger.” At first, I assumed Tod sent it cuz nobody else knows what White is up to. But when White goes to visit Todd in the next scene, it turned out that Tod knew nothing about Blacks girlfriend. So who sent White that video?

This seems to be a plot hole in the show. Or is there a logical explanation for this that I simply missed?

I just want to be satisfied about these little things from prior episodes. And then I'm gonna jump in and watch today's new episode. I cannot wait!

They used stumble fall twice this episode, and both times made me cringe - what a disappointment.
Wait, there's only one stumble/fall and that was with Vee and Dome when they were running. Wasn't the other stumble/fall with Fah and Thorn in episode 5, not this episode?

I was also thoroughly confused how Aii went from thinking San was cute in the elevator to agreeing to go away…
Thank you so much. I also agree with your assessment of how we did not see enough about Aii's feelings progressing from hesitation straight to having sex. But I love this couple so much that I am willing to forgive the show for any missteps with portraying them, lol. I just want the show to give us more and more of them! Especially San, as his smile just makes me soooo happy! lol

Thanks for reply, but I don't think she meant condom, because she had asked Aii if he needed a "cone" the night before they slept together. Or do you mean that cone also means plugs in Thai, and that San then made a joke about it when she asked in the morning because "cone" can mean both earplugs, and be slang for condoms in Thai?

I think it's something about the way they translated the subtitles that's confusing us. I saw it on Viki, which has better subtitles than most sites, but still, I think they messed up on translating this word for us.

I feel so bad for the main couple… the other 2 side couples are more interesting.. I just love the plot development…
Absolutely! This is just one more show where the side couples are better than the main couple. I see this in other shows, but it's really evident in this one as it's not just one side couple that's better than the main one, but TWO side couples that are better! lol

I love this show, and I loved how episode 6 sealed the deal for both Aii/San and Fah/Thorn. I have tons of good things to say about this show -- the cinematography, the story line, the slow burn pacing, the acting (well, except for the actor playing Fah), but first I gotta satisfy myself with some questions. Because I am confused about 3 things and need someone to fill me in.

First, when did San ever invite Aii to go on a weekend getaway? The episode opens making it as if this trip was already planned, but how did it happen? And where, exactly, did Ai think that San was taking him? He was surprised it ended up being the grandmother's house, so where did he think they were supposed to be going? I mean, where did this whole trip come from? Did San tell him that the trip was something about a school project? What was it about?

Second, I am also confused about the locker room scene with the coach lecturing Dome and Vee about getting along. Suddenly, Dome has a bruise on his face and Vee has a band-aid. Are we supposed to assume that they had a fight that was off camera? What was this about?

Third, what did San's grandmother mean by a "cone" to use when they sleep. What is a cone?

Totally! My sister and I were watching it this afternoon and we couldn't really take it seriously. Don't get me…
Exactly! The romantic vibe was not there significantly then, whammo, it's suddenly not only there, but Sean is making the sort of proclamations lovers only make when deeply, or obsessively in love (ie, "I live for you").

I am so glad I am not the only one who felt this. In fact, I had expected most people to see what I had seen, because up until last week most were complaining on this thread that there had not been enough romance with Sean and Black. So yes, people are actually in agreement with you and me on this point more than they realize. I think that the kiss was just so good cinematically, as you cited, that they are just jumped in with the new vibe.

I am going to do the same from hereon, because it's the best way to go on enjoying the show.
