I KNEW that manager was going to turn out to be a bad guy! Just the way he kept harassing Spy Kid to get more and more info. Something about the way that character is presented had "bad guy" written all over it.
Thanks for the spoiler cuz it means the show might make more sense next week. I actually like spoilers. People on this site are obsessive about putting little tiny things under a spoiler tag -- even if it has a happy ending or tragic . But I think that "feel good" shows and "tragedies" belong to those genres and it's perfectly ok to mention the genre of "feel good show" or "tragedy" without a spoiler tag.
When I'm talking about actual plot points then , of course, I use a spoiler tag. But I will read other people's spoilers that reveal upcoming plot points. It does not diminish my enjoyment of a show because it's more interesting to see HOW it happens, then what happens.

OK, so the company is actually in the business of running art galleries? I know there is a business where people arrange special events. They set up podiums for conventions, and set up parties, or concerts. Whatever the special event is, they bring the heavy the things necessary for the event and arrange it . It's even called Special Event Planning. Some people also do Party Planning and arrange a wedding, anniversary, birthday, etc.
But this show has not told us anything about the company. All we know is that there is a CEO somewhere who wanted to give the Potter a gallery show. But we don't know WHY. We need to know what kind of company it is that it would need a famous artist. That's a crucial plot point in the narrative that's simply missing. It's as if the writer forget a whole passage in his screenplay where viewers would've learned the CEO's motive. Motive is everything when telling a story and in this show it's just a big blank. It makes it harder for me to enjoy the show.
But thanks for offering your theories on why the CEO wants it. I did not read the manga so your explanations helped. Thank you!

I knew it. An English Lit major! Welcome to our club. Oh, and it's not all roses being an English Professor; our field is glutted with too many of us and schools are far more interested in academics who are in the STEM's, but those guys also get high paying jobs in engineering, pharmaceutical, and chemical companies, so they don't need jobs in academia. But teaching is essentially all we English majors can do, so we're a dime a dozen. We are, however, exceptional writers, and it's great to have writing skills regardless of being in or out of the classroom. People notice it, just as I noticed your prose was very good.

But why is it even important for the CEO to give a potter a show? Everyone has a favorite artist, but we don't knock ourselves out to promote them with a show. Now, this would make sense if the company were a Talent Agency and the CEO represented artists. Getting a contract with a top artist would be a boon to a Talent Agency. But the company hasn't been described this way.
So one moment you’re complaining about “abusive drinking” and the next you’re wishing for violent rape…
I took your comment on rape to be a joke on the fact that lots of BL's have a rape that turns into romance. You cited Kinn/Porsche, but there's also Addicted, where Gu Ha Forced himself on Buy Lu Yin (some websites even censored that scene). In short, I interpreted your comment to be a humorous bit of sarcasm on BL tropes.
How about adding some spoiler tags -_-And your views on rape are quite questionable to say the least. (Yes, yes,…
I think he was making a joke precisely because so many BL's start out with borderline rapes that eventually turn romantic. A prime example is "Addicted," wherein Gu Ha forces himself on Buy Lu Yin. So the original poster may have made the joke to sarcastically refer to this common BL trope. He just didn't make it clear enough and some misunderstood.

You are very good writer. It's flowing prose and evidences a sound body of knowledge on the topic at hand. What is your background? I'm guessing Liberal Arts with a focus in Literature or History.
BTW, I am an English Professor, so I grade students' writing all the time and, thus, could not help but to comment on yours.
Why did the CEO send an employee to stalk the Potter when all he wanted was to give the Potter a gallery show? The Potter accepted the gallery show because, of course, it helps his career. So why didn't the CEO just pick up the phone and offer the Potter a show on day one when Spy Kid said he found him? I don't understand why they waited. Hell, I don't understand the CEO's motive to begin with. He's doing the Potter a favor by giving him a show and he gets nothing out of it. The entire premise for this drama makes no sense. Does anyone have an explanation?
Damn ep.8 angst was done very well. I felt so shocked when he barged in through the door and pushed him against…
Well, that scene of him pushing the other against the bed was the hottest scene in the show. It's as if they only have chemistry when they are fighting. There was another confrontational scene in an early episode that was also hot. It was when Spy Kid was annoying the Potter and the Potter backed him up against a wall and zoomed his face in close to say, "I'm checking to see if you like men." So there's only energy when they are being confrontational, and even then it's the actor playing the Potter who's putting in the energetic performances. Spy Kid is bland, bland, bland.
Please give us more of the side couple, because they have fire between them. The main couple, however, is as exciting as cold, lumpy oatmeal. Moreover, both guys in the side couple can act, while Spy Ki's fake crying with no tears was cringe inducing.
The use of "I like you" instead of "I love you" drives me even more crazy than "disgusting" because this appears in a lot of BL's, not just MBM. They got it all wrong with Old Fashioned Cupcake and Addicted too. At this point, whenever I see "I like you" used in a romantic context, I translate it in my head to be "I love you."
Really? Because they were a disaster for season one. They used the word "disgusting" while Viki used "creepy." Using the word "disgusting" make Kiyoi seem like an ass. Gaga also used the phrase "I like you" while Viki used "I love you." Interpreters should know that the Japanese use "I like you" in the context of love. No way would Hira merely say he "likes" Kiyoi. He LOVED Kiyoi. At any rate, I always prefer Viki. But Gaga is cheaper so I got that one instead.
They go from kissing to Jae Won completely ignoring Ji Hyun (it's still not clear to me exactly why that happened)…
Ah, ok, I saw that. I know I don't fight with anyone here so nobody blocks me. I just got that person's name wrong when I was scrolling to look for it.
I agree. I think Thai Bls favor mass quantity over quality and it’s evident in some of their most recent releases.…
Yes, they make a lot -- indeed, so many that BL's are one of its gross national products for profitable exporting. I see a new one each week on BLparadise, which comes out to 50 a year. One would think so many BL's means they have practice to make them better. But instead, they feel as if they're churned off a factory assembly line. The stories are often lame and the acting always sub par. They just grab a cute guy from some local high school and throw him in front of a teleprompter and then he reads his lines. Have you ever noticed how the boys will pause about ten seconds between reading lines? They're trying to remember the line.
Yes, it was on Gaga for me too. I was wondering what the hell happened to it. So they took it down, which is odd.…
Yes, compared to Viki's BL category they have a lot. But Viki has all Asian shows, not just BL. At any rate, BLparadise now charges too. They used to be a better deal than Gaga, but they are charging for things that they get free elsewhere, which is obnoxious. They don't get special contracts with shows the way Gaga and Viki do, they just surf the web for freebies and then charge us to pocket the money.
Has this dropped off of GaGa for anyone else? I've been looking all day to see when it's going live and checked…
Yes, it was on Gaga for me too. I was wondering what the hell happened to it. So they took it down, which is odd. That site already sucks cuz it has too few titles, and now they are taking down whatever new ones they have. You can get more free on BLparadise.
