They were not in the lovey dovey state yet before YQ sacrifice himself to seal Guixu, so it will be suspicious if he is suddenly very in love with YT when he does not have any memories of the shards.
As for why the HE prefers YQ to not have the memories of his shards, might be because he is afraid that YQ will not act according to his order unconditionally anymore. If YQ has his memories >> he is very in love with YT >> more likely to believe her that the HE didn't actually want to save YQ >> the trust between YQ and HE becomes weaker. Another reason might be because the shards are actually the not-so-perfect sides of YQ, so if YQ retains those memories, he is likely not to be the perfect YQ anymore.

Just curious, the scene where Sang Jiu asked Ming Ye if he ever fell in love with her before, did the 'panel' between them actually blocked Sang Jiu's vision (i.e. she could only hear his voice but not seeing anything on Ming Ye's side)? Because Ming Ye was obviously showing that he is making a difficult decision to say no to Sang Jiu and yet Sang Jiu believed that lie??
