Just started yesterday and I find it very interesting. Then now, it's postponed π Off to watch the donghua version now π
Off topic, but Youku is really one funny platform. This is already the second drama this year which they put on hiatus after airing. They should just airdrop the whole drama next time.
Why????!!! Did they destroy the storyline or the character...?
Neither imho, it's just that the director is not very good in delivering the comedy moments. And the change in colour/ filters made this season look much "serious" compared to season 1. But the scriptwriter and actors were trying their best to deliver plot twists and comedy.
Combining all these factors, what we got here now seems like it's all over the place. Trying to deliver many things but nothing was presented good enough.
hmm... if i watch the season 2, can i follow the storyline? or i must watch the season 1 first? π
You can try, I guess. There is a few mins recap of season 1 in the beginning of ep 1. so you won't miss any major plot point. But you might find yourself questioning who is who and what's their relationships and why they behave so. It kinda degrades the humour in this imo. Hence, I highly recommend watching season 1 before watching this
Fu Wei Lun did a great job in portraying Wei Ya Nei, I appreciate that he tried to keep those little gestures of his role in season 1. It would be much better if they used the same voice actor for this role. Fu Wei Lun looks quite similar to Bruce He as well, so props to whoever did the casting.
Up to ep.3 now and I think everyone became dumber compared to season 1, especially Ding Er and Yuan Zhong Xin. Hopefully there will be some interesting twists later on. Pacing felt a little slow compared to s1 (which is kinda disappointing).
Wished they kept the crews of season 1, it seems like this new group of crews are not that good in capturing the comedy moments.
Finally had the time to start watching. Just finished episode one and it's well worth the wait imho. I love the recap they had for season 1 π
Just one complaint though, I think the leads lost the "sparkle" in their eyes. It gave me a feeling that they are no longer those youngsters in s1 when in fact, only a few days passed in the story (if I got it right).
According to Wikipedia, Season 2 would be a prequel to the first season. Can someone confirm the accuracy of this…
I don't think that season 2 would be a prequel. The news wiki reference to was from 2021, things might have changed, but I am not sure about that.
We may see more about Fan Xian's mom in this season, but there is no way this would be a prequel imho. I couldn't see how they can tell a story revolving Fan Xian if this is a prequel, his story literally started when he decided to set off to the capital.
I'm hoping to see all of them working together with students from other classes, especially Fu Qing Yu π€£ Not sure if this character would make an appearance in this season
Still can't believe that this drama is finally here years after reading the novel. Was on Jing and Xiao Yao ship back then, let's see if the drama will change my mind π€
