If she doesn't escape him in the end, I'll be so annoyed.
Thanks for the lengthy reply. (As I said before, I was not making an opinion either way.) I remember the part where he said he was sorry, but thought that he had caused it. I must have been concentrating on something else at the time.
I simply don't understand this convoluted thinking style of the female lead. Why is she blaming the male lead…
I have no comment to make about your post one way or the other except to say, "What am I missing?" Did the ML not orchestrate the death of the FL's family as part of his plot to gain the throne? Perhaps I need to watch that episode again.
Good Take and that's one of the reasons I don't like his character. Even if they made him Emperor in the end,…
I haven't read the book and I have only watched up to ep. 16, but have 'flipped', as it were, through eps. 17-21. Thus I don't know if she has regained all of her memory or just part of it. Re your comment above, is it possible that she returns to her earlier life in an effort to find out everything that happened or to get revenge on the woman/people who 'killed' her, or some such?
Wow! A masterpiece of 3rd rate drivel performed by ham actors. Oh. And don't forget the emperor's cheap polyester wig and the extremely bad CGI and special effects!
If you think about it, it makes sense that Situ's mother wanted to punish the grandmother by killing her family, which included Shen, in a tit-for-tat move. The matriarch had to be left alive to feel the loss of her family. I have not read the novel but I would conjecture that Shen was the son of a first wife. Why else would the grandmother only want to kill the wife and HER son?
Ep 13, why is SZH so angry towards Situ Wei Lian? Didn’t he want to find him? And even he is angry at SiTu’s…
Yes, he does want to find him; he has been searching for him for years. His behaviour in this scene is quite understandable, given the circumstances. Listen again to the dialogue leading up to the fight and you might better understand his hurt and anger.
I still do not understand why superintendent wants Shen Zhi dead so much and now wants to create an army. Was lady…
Do you remember the scene where the superintendent talks about Mu's ring and then rubs his own finger as if he is used to wearing one? I wonder if he is from the third family or if this is just a red herring? But, if so, who is the man who gave Shen Zhi the crow?
I think they censored or changed something, in the book he was exposed as "Pro-Japanese". So LI is a traitor to…
haveninmuse: I haven't read the book but it was obvious to me from the first episode that they were pro-Japanese. Those with enough knowledge of pre world war 2 history of the pacific region can work it out. (This was the period when Japan was trying to establish the 'Greater East Asia Co-Prosperity Sphere'.)
The first (brief) hint is at 12:30 when the 'Economic Development Committee' is mentioned. This becomes more obvious in ep. 2 at 14:45.
On another note, I am surprised that people are still watching Jiang Jin Fu dramas, given his predilection for beating his girlfriends!

Was that...ahem... dinner eating dinner...? (episode 16)
P.S. 'dgaf' is the same as 'can't be bothered'; 'dare' means 'have the courage to do'.
