Lovelylulu: Who are you addressing here? I can't see anything in the nearby comments to suggest that anyone is…
Okay, thanks. I thought that you were speaking to somebody in particular and I wanted to see what they had written. I agree with you, by the way. There are far too many hateful comments. But make sure that you understand the difference between sincere opinions (whether you agree with them or not) and the deliberate (or mindless) hatemongering which proliferates these pages.
SRQ and Shangguan Ya by the order of the Li Chuan.
There is no reason for it to happen in this life because FL did not side with their mother's clan to pressure him or force him to marry as before, etc. She realised her mistake and took his side in everything this time around.
Wow, you said a lot and I agree with EVERYTHING!! From what I've heard, one of the producers likes and sympathize…
Thanks for explaining. I had heard about Chinese fans but was not thinking properly. In the West, as far as I know, fans don't do such things. (Well, they never used to, anyway. ) Although I love Sageuks and Chinese Costume Dramas, I am not a 'fan' as such. I did wonder why some dramas get s special episode after the others finish airing.

Andre: Thank you for taking the time to write a lengthy reply. I do not know whether your first language is English or not, so I may have misunderstood part of what you were saying. Nonetheless, I am glad to see that you have such insight.
I do not know how any morally well-adjusted, thinking person could 'look forward' to the boat scene. Perhaps many were misled and did not have the full facts. (I hope that that is the case.) I wonder if it were mainly male or female watchers who were 'looking forward to it'. Regardless, many immature, unthinking people may, as you say, be led to believe that such a scene is romantic (even if they themselves did not initially think so). Perhaps we need to tell people, politely and neutrally, that this behaviour is wrong.
The boat scene is bad! Very bad and hurtful. Many cdramas use this type of scene and try to make it romantic but…
Andre: Although I understand your sentiment, I would like to point out that the scene was not intended to be romantic; it was an example of a man's basest instinct. This, (to us, now) unsavoury (but also) uncharacteristic behaviour (on his part) was a culmination of over twenty years of his wife being with or wanting to be with another man.
Had he not stopped when he did, things would have been different, and I would have commented differently. To put my comment in perspective, how many of you are aware that in the 1970's it was STILL legal in the US and the UK (among others) to 'rape' one's own wife! I find that far more disgusting!
The Emperor keeps telling the eunuch to investigate this and that, and it seems that he can always come back immediately…
We only see the odd occasion when the head eunuch is sent to investigate something whereas the Inspectorate Office, with more manpower, would be investigating more cases than is actually shown/covered in the drama.
I TOLD YOU ALL. This is going KDRAMA way where VILLAIN has super power and ML/FL will be very weak and get conned…
'Propagandist'? Perhaps you should change your name to 'Mrs Malaprop'! Of course, given the nature of your usual derogatory comments here, I don't expect you to understand the reference.
I agree. If anyone watched LONG BALLAD and watch this , And if they say they liked long ballad , they are not…
As well as not answering my question, you have missed my point . It is irrelevant whether people liked the Long Ballad, or not. That is just a matter of one's preference; it is subjective. You have stated that we are not human because we liked it. It is THAT, and your suggestion that I defer automaton-like to Reddit (like someone such as yourself) that makes you appear to be a rather juvenile and unintelligent sheeple.

badgersupremo: This is not the first time that I have felt compelled to point out just how juvenile you are. I liked the Long Ballad so, according to you, I, and many others, too, (irrespective of whether they have watched The Princess Royal) are not human. Okay, which planet are we from, then? Please do tell!

That said, I enjoyed the scene for what it was.
