Felt like they cut this as short as possible because of the budget or something sight the potential was really there. But glad i watched this got me hooked from the beginning ngl.

Wanted to watch this for so many years i can't bring myself to watch it, haven't seen a journey to love either i heard it's really good but i can't take sad endings. Dramas are escape pls give us happy endings omgg. I'm so happy we are watching c-dramas now, because the OLD c-dramas are all about sad endings. Traumatized the hell out of me when i started watching c-dramas.

This !! Also they could add like 10 episodes at least. It was so rushed.

Scent of time was so good. I was so exited about this i loved her also in back from the brink, dream of golden years and legend of the female general.

Me too with no consequences, she didin't endure one hardship straight to happiness after waiting him shortly in a mansion. Even Fl didin't get to live in a mansion she was cleaning a god know what place in her wedding night and wedding gown.

It really felt like a low budget drama with amazing actors.

Overall this was a good drama but it had a potential to be GREAT one. I feel like a lot happened in a very short time. Plot twist after plot twist. I would even actually prefer if this was 40 episodes at least.
They put so much in this, that it felt like a makjang daily drama. Also lead couple got officially together when there was like 5 episodes left. And that wedding was the most non-existent low budget wedding in a c-drama haha.
They also gave sml too much screentime, i would prefer to know more about Shen family, about the 5th concubines family, how powerful they where and how he got into that mess.

They really dragged fl and sml thing toooo long. Also how sml and the 2nd sister got like a ''happy'' ending at the end, he was soo in love with the fl and after what his parents and Xie family pulled he just forgave them ? didin't really fit his character that they build this whole drama in my opinion.

Love the ending for the 3rd sister and eldest sister.

I would also like more screentime with the leads too every time they got together for a second he left.

And to the positives i have to say The ACTING was phenomenal👏. Everyone and their mama gave their best and some more. I feel like the actors did their best with the script.
Also this kinda felt like a low budget drama. The fl mom did i think 3 roles in this drama, i just let it slide and then the parents (same 50+ people) acting like their 20s version haha it kinda felt low budget ngl.

The only thing that kept me watching was the acting of the whole cast and the chemistry between leads i was actually curling my toes. Xu Kai is the king of chemistry can't name a fl he doesn't have a chemistry with.

All in all this was solid 8.5.

I came here to comment this, i'm currently watching this drama and the ONLY one in any drama, she's actually tall ( same height as other men in the drama), even though she's so pretty she could actually pass as an handsome man and she's believable as a general.

Currently watching ep 9 and i have to say BEST leads to cast in a drama together, i mean the facial expressions alone can carry this drama👏👏 This quickly went from 8.5 to 9.5 well done team !

I don't know if you already watched it, but everyone ends up with everyone basically🤣 craziest drama i have ever seen. This was beyond makjang. Oh Se Young did an amazing job in this as a villain 👏

I understand, just couldn't force it anymore. For like 3 years i tried to watch it 3 times from ep 1 again. But i don't know her growth and independent journey takes off ofc after ep 24 so i didin't see it either so didin't have any reason to stay watching.

And he has a concubine and 2 children out of nowhere, she was annoying and all that fighting with that petty granny. I just dropped didin't even ship him with fl anymore. I know they are showing his low and then character growth but yeah.. not my cup of tea really.

I can take villains/betrayals/ annoying family you name it, but i need to like at least fl and ml from the beginning to watch a drama.
Maybe i will watch it one day , again from the beginning haha can't remember all of it anymore last watch was 2024. If i ever rewatch this it's for the female leads character. I really loved her character, she was so calm and smart.

I couldn't watch it because of the ml either, i really really didin't like him AT ALL as an adult. Dropped after 20 something episodes. Loved the female lead and i love female empowerment, strong and smart FL but first time ever in a drama i'm watching i couldn't take the ml and i mean his CHARACTER i tried to watch it 3 times but eventually dropped it sight.. i don't know if 24 episodes was too early someone tell me.

I'm so glad you like it. It's really good, ONE of the best family dramas. I try to forget and rewatch it every now and then. AND it's so fun you will laugh so much but it also teaches you values of life, and the character growth is impeccable.

I have seen high kick back in the days haha it was so funny. Thanks for the rec i'll def check them.
