Ep 28 and 29 - I was totally invested in the scenes between Chong Zhao and Fu Ying, the pain, the longing for the past the frustration of not being able to love in the present. Everything is visceral and there. Praise to the child actors for bringing their sweetest younger selves story. This CP moves me (contrary to the main CP that leaves me cold) . Having said that, I have lost my hopes that we would see even a little kiss between CZ and FY. We will be lucky if there is going to be a full embrace (and probably when one of them are dying - more likely her ...buah!

Not even bother to rate in MDL, the ratings are a joke across all series here. I watched today the Korean ratings and this is number one and surpassed When the Phone rings when it was being broadcasting. I am ep 4 and its is amazing. I love all the characters. Very hopeful.

I am too broken hearted to speak about it, buah!!! In Soon character marrying the dog woman and FL going to church to cry not to marry her but everybody ignored her ( I can understand this as nobody really gets her!) but still I love them together, In Son and Se Young, great chemistry but I don't think they will come back ever together so it is too angs for me, no reason to continue this "journey" until the series is finished and I know if it is worthy

He is a soft actor so in those scenes with his brother he looks beautiful sad and with teary eyes, but he does not have the depth to play this character. This character is multilayer.

We are various that get you! but we are a bit shy for the shipping fans coming for us. The main CP is actually the weakest link in the series and the ML is a soft actor that look beautiful when is sad and moved but the role is too large for him.

I watch the BTS with massive spoilers (so don't head to YouTube and watch them!)..oh no....I feel betrayed. My worst fears almost confirmed. I am stopping now and waiting for the series to finish to make my mind if continue watching.

I think you have missed a very important point here. they were permanent contaminated with dark energy, and also tortured. This was more than brainwashed. It is a complete imposed take over by the master dark energy.

They are very redeemable characters and have kept my attention through the drama. I am very fond of them.

Glad you agree. We are various with the same opinion as shown in this forum. To add a friend from China who lives there, she said that despite the popularity of the drama even Bai Lu performance have not been praised like in other dramas. Something is lacking there too for me.

Ep 26 &27 belong to the evil characters - What a performance by the actor portraying Qi Seng (is it Lian Xue Feng?) He has all the acting skills, the beauty, and the strong presence to have a brilliant career. I cannot take my eyes away from him when he is there, and he has been from the beginning. I am an admirer of Dai Lu Wen and her character Fu Ling. She is the one who has kept my interest throughout the series. I feel that Huan Se as Chong Zao has been OK but again the unique point is his chemistry with Fu Ling. another praise for the child actors, all of them. What a great casting. I am sorry but the weakest point for me is the main CP it never convinced me It is impossible not to compare - Bai Lu/Luo Lunxi, Bai Lu/Zhang Linge, Bai Lu/Xu Kai those CPs moved me, here they leave me cold. Rui Pen is a very soft actor. I really like him with his brother, when he is really sad, his eyes are beautiful, so maybe this was too much of a project to undertake. I did not know his work before, but I am sure they are roles out there that suit him better and I will be happy to watch.

My lasting impression of this film is that is rather homophobic. It was filmed in 2008 so probably Korean audiences were even more homophobic than they are now. It starts with an ignorant premise that gay men can't have sex with women. What an absurd! they have done for centuries and even entered into "hetero" marriage with the purpose of reproduction in corseted societies, like Korea. It also suggests that true love only happens after a hetero-sex encounter. Of course, the unsavoury part is the abuse of power. It is not a violent kind or pedophilia, as the King is also underage when meeting his future lover. It is the gentle seduction of power. Of a man who is also very attractive, full of artistry, a skilled warrior, and is the king to his very impressionable younger guard. The lover did not love his King, as a matter of fact, he adored him, but the film failed totally in grasping something redeemable about it. And it is confusing because the male actors looked beautiful together, had great chemistry, they way they look at each other when making music is mesmerising. On the anecdotical level, Zo In Sung has rather homophobic remarks about acting in this film, which is a shame when other brilliant actors have done gays films by the same time and are proud of the work they did Like Lee Joon Gi and Lee Je Hoon.

It is a very open ending, we don't know if she returned to him. We can just hope, but reputation in East Asia is everything, so I guess they could only be hidden lovers. My doubt is what was the meaning of him giving her back the red cloth maybe it meant that he wanted to move on and prompt her to react. Hopefully with the end that you are describing.

Lu Xu Xiao and Wang Xing Xue are really a perfect match! they are being promoted as the main CP but it is quite confusing the rest of the cast female and male actors are amazing. The bad husband of The Double is here too, he gave a wonderful performance there. WinWin is also listed, is he not the idol that always dance with Ten (I think they NCT)
