I could not agree more with everything you say here. Yes, the relationship with the ML character, I could not feel how that came about? Suddenly, this fab man was in love with this woman that until that point only showed stubbornness?? 2 FL is my favorite character in the series and with the 2 ML are giving everything sensuality, excitement, intrigue because we don't know why they are as they are. I think they are going to fall hard for each other but I don't put my money they will survive the series, one can just hope (I am only speculating).

There are a lot of forced and crazy arguments in this type of C dramas. Take it from somebody who has watched tons of them! I just go along with the ride, while I watch I say to myself "whatever"

How two adorable parents could create such an annoying son!? After the turtle guy, Mu Jui, the younger fox is my least favorite character. It is a pity we did not come to see more of the love between the Mountain Queen and his lover Qi. I would have liked to see them more time happy and in love. The two actors in that CP have lovely visuals and are great performers. I would have preferred less Bai Lu screentime. I am a follower of Bai Lu, so don't come for me that I don't like her! but for some reason in this series she sounds like a spoiled brat most of the time (other people here have commented on this). Thinking of Bai Lu when she encountered Tan Tan Ji as her husband in the first reincarnation all those emotions that she passed through, there were perfectly portrayed. I cannot find those undertones in her performance in this series. Sorry.

He is not a sweetheart! He is self-righteous and doesn't have an ounce of naivety on him. He also have done what is needed to survive. He is still doing it. His love for Bai Lu character is the less convincing as it is so one sided that is almost harrassment. I love Fu Ling with him and there is more that we still don't know. These characters are not clear cut.

It is fiction and we can allow ourselves to like characters like this, for me is working and I want them together. Chong Zhao does not have an ounce of naïve on him. He is self-righteous, self centre. So I have never considered him as the "good guy"

I totally agree with you. I like they are not white and black characters and that we still do not know everything about them. There are secrets kept. Like you, I am only watching for them. I read in Twitter that in China they are in the top 10 most popular CP at the moment (I am not sure if they have overpassed the main leads. It happened many times with other dramas, I remember in Journey to you that the secondary CP went ahead by miles in the popularity index).
