So unfair! Well done for standing up for your principles. What I do is wait a bit for a series that i am interested is almost complete and take a sub for one or two months. It is true we cannot afford to pay for so many channels, but this is a good way of doing it. Some friends do the same. so you watch legally but without breaking the bank. Additionaly, most services offer free episodes so we can decide if that series is worthy or not.

Exactly, at least if people must, for whatever reason, they should do it discreetly without promoting it.

It is a personal choice, not an obligation of any sort Most Chinese people engaging with the international community somehow, in particularly when study abroad, will chose an English name to avoid mispronunciation. Some people have easy enough names so they don't feel the need to change it. E.g One part of the CP of Kill to Love his name is Jin. Xiao Zhan changed to Sean because the pronunciation is similar. Additionally, for people in the arts industry is quite common to chose an "artistic name" so some people change their names on this ground They want to be know abroad with a different name.

Exactly. It never crossed my mind that they were not handsome on the contrary, when the first photos were released but nobody in the international community knew if the series was going to see the light of day, the first comment of everybody was the look of these guys, how attractive those photos were. In one of the chats that I participate, somebody comment "they make me remember YiZhan" - The Untamed CP, Imagine. The first photo I saw was Xu kissing Jin nose from the last episodes. How mesmerising was that image I could not stop thinking about it, we commented about this in all the other BLs forums I was so looking forward to the release of the drama.

Re-watching - Episode 8 - My heart belongs only to you.....two pair of Swans that could not take flight.
This is one of the most impactful episode in the drama and powerful scenes happening one after the other one.
A pair of swans - This scene so touching, they were still holding into the dream that they were going to be a pair forever....a beautiful kiss seals those dreams. The terrible news arrives, DZA almost faint by the shock, and his confession cannot not be materialised.
Crow Prince murders - two murder in a rows, including a parricide, how this could happen?
Stop dreaming -SH recovers his stands as the 6th Prince and the responsibility for the South Kingdom. He tries to push DZA away, was it all a dream? DZA asks. SH wants to wear the Mountain Brocade to walk towards what it is obviously his death. DZA is not having any of this. After a heartfell farewell kiss, DZA stops SH.
Confrontation & first conclusion - the heart is not enough
This scene clearly separates our two viewers' experiences in this series. It is unforgettable and piercing. SH discourse when confronting DZA is carved in my memory. It could be expressed as: You not only wanted the fall of the South Kingdom you have to fill it with my love (heart) and my body. DZA does not spare SH of the great deal of satisfaction of finally avenging his family, disregarding the complex and painful emotions SH was feeling at this moment.
What it is follows is devastating: SH, that always was the receiver of DZA passion, forces this kiss in his lover until it hurts, so deeply that a knife has to be put through DZA.
Some fans has chosen the kissing that happens in the bridge as the best kissing scene of the series.

Not attractive enough? - I cannot believe Xu and Jin have been bullied in China for not being attractive enough. Even in the live, sometimes Jin Jin read awful comments writing they are ugly. Actually the CP name "lagogo", comes from a hater comment who wrote that Jin Jin had a mango face, as he is so quick said "then I am a "mangogo", and other hater wrote that Xu had the teeth of a Labubu. As they are so funny, particularly Jin Jin, they combined the name and suggested this should be the name of the CP fandom "lagogo", which is ever so cute.
I really don't understand from which part these guys are not handsome. They are actually more handsome that some top tier ML. Xu has the "traditional" face of a ML in China, but Jin, you put him in the right high couture clothing and you have a top model. His features are really different. Remember those scenes in which SH tied DZA to the bed and put a knife on his throat, his white tunic showing one of his shoulder? What a beauty. Here a link to his magazine shooting vid:
