Maybe to mention to people that bring drama from the Chinese platforms: Even top productions in China are ignored by the majority of Chinese people. The majority of Chinese people are really not that interested in showbiz and they don't know the "stars" , and this is not just the older generation. I recently asked one of our younger Chinese students if she has watched The Untamed, she told me she has heard about it, she kind of know who Wang Yibo was but not even recognised Xiao Zhan!?and the fandoms in China -who are a tiny fraction of the Chinese population - go to war for them. These artists are top star in the ent industry, they are in the Forbes list of China but even a well educated girl was so no interested. I could tell you a number of examples of this. First hand accounts. Now a small project like ABO, probably 99.9% there have not hear about it. Having said that, the government has a serious "beef" with the media platforms like Iqiyi, Youku, Tencent etc that have been under government scrutiny because their business models. Yesterday resolution was about tax control of this platforms and not about broadcasting content. So crossing fingers, as long as it is not within China and only watch by a minority via foreign VPN I don't think there is much motive to do something drastic.
There are plenty of BL that I can't get into, but I would never purposely try to get them banned or talk bad about…
I do the same. I can't believe the awful BLs that Thailand released in a year. I simply don't watch them. My time is precious, why I am going to be aggravated by a series that I am not even going to watch!!!
It's not fake. This news is also on Weibo's official page, and this kind of news is definitely real, not fake.
Thank you. I have made a search and the only regulation that I found the NRTA emitted on 18 August has to do with the increase and monitoring of taxes on the international platforms. We need a link to the official document. It is all online. URL: http://www.nrta.gov.cn/col/col161/index.html
Before people get all offended, I'm allowed to have my opinion and this comment section has room for everyone. As…
Rakhamn there is nothing to apologise and reason to hide your comment. I am 100% behind this series, but for me you are making valid points. Comments like yours should not be criticised because they contribute to a healthy conversation. Having a discerning mind is not hate.

I live in UK and it is impossible to try to register. So I don't have an account there, but my Chinese friends could look for me, but I am not even know what are you talking about, which Weibo official page, the ABO one, the NongJiang one?
I will delete mine too. I visit Red Note and on the contrary just now somebody was asking what was going on in Weibo and where those comments about fighting were coming from. Somebody say, if there is a real problem Sisters Nong would have done a live and they have not done so.
According to this article ,NRTA has never talked about banning bl or their actors in the meeting and it was fake…
Another thing to bear in mind is that the anti-China block will use any news to make China look even worse that is looking at the moment in relation to LGBTQ+ issues. In all honesty, the community there is not interested in BLs but in addressing other community needs
BL actors banning - You may have read a previous post about this. There is no official confirmation of this, no new guidelines from the censhorhip agency. However, some probably did not know that In 2022, Beijing-area streaming platforms (iQIYI, Youku, Tencent Video) agreed to ban danmei adaptations entirely. Completed projects like Immortality were shelved indefinitely. They have been warned and I guess this is why they stopped broadcasting ABO even though was for international audience. The most serious is that this year more than 20 female authors of BL (danmei) novels were arrested, and some convicted, under laws targeting obscene or pornographic material. Really the Sisters Nong are playing with fire here. Something that it does puzzled me is how they dare to do live in Weibo (Chinese platform) for Chinese audience s (as is all in Chinese without translation) when in theory these audience are not allowed to watch BLs? Weibo allowed some international people to register but everything is pass through China's regulation. By the way, I cannot have a Weibo account from UK. It gets disconnected everytime that I apply. Is this not really tempting the wrap of the government?
