because she cares about the family of the boy who tried to save her and she cares about him ... it shows in the trailer the dad trying to find them .. it shows both male leads having nightmares about their past, it shows that there something dark going on .. and i'm sorry since when did trailers and synopsis give us the whole picture about what a drama is going to be( if so then i can proudly say i've been mislead by most dramas i've seen ) , some people go in without seeing the trailers or reading synopsis .. the synopsis gave quite a general take on the story and the source is mdl , korean sources have mentioned that it's going to be a light melodrama .. and with the way the story started it's obvious that she will have people she cares for, people she wants to reconnect with and worried about and it was balanced in my opinion , she was a bit focus on them but she did do the most and more in her journey to become a singer
now you can't expect the ml of the drama and his back story not to have any screen time, just like fl is the lead m he is also the male lead, and here it also just so happens the sml is also part of the ml's family and the story is focused on these three leads as well as ran joo that is another lead.... the focus on his fam was mostly showing how him as a ml had depth and had a story to him , not just another ml who supports her just because he is ml but he doesn't have his own story and i like that and i didn't think it was boring , i enjoyed watching it
now you don't get people defending a drama that misleads people , that's just your opinion ( don't assume that everyone is mislead ) many people liked it and never complained , for instance i was never mislead, i went in blind without seeing any trailer or synopsis but ended up knowing and sensing that it'll be melo after ep 1and it was confirmed with each episode that went by .... so if you watch a drama and not like it for what it is and think it mislead you just drop it and say you don't like it ... but you don't have to come here and try to make it seem as if other people who like it and have a different opinion are just defending it and you don't understand how could they...
a drama will be what it is and not what we want it to be so if you don't like how they went about telling the story of the leads doesn't mean it mislead you .. it means you didn't like how they wrote it and you imagined it differently and sure fine complain and say your opinion and blame it on the trailer and all but don't try to diss mine

well i don't agree that the name and trailer are misleading, they fit the drama perfectly and stayed true to it pretty well and you understand that there gonna be some trouble ( melodrama and a dark side to the story from the trailer ) , but then again i agree the synopsis is kinda misleading but like from the first episode it explains clearly what the drama is going to be and what's coming... a drama about a castaway survivor who ended up this way because of her father's abuse and the boy who was going to run away with her who also was a victim of abuse and then searched for her for over 15 years wasn't magically going to somehow be a corny, funny romcom and not have any difficulties/dark side along the way seriously. and as for ran joo .. she was clearly a main character from the very start of the show .... in the end the drama stayed true to its premise ... and she achieved her dreams .. obviously you have every right to criticize it and not like certain aspects about .. but the criticism almost kept me away from watching it so after watching it and loving it i thought i should clear it up for some of the other viewers like myself who were mislead by the bad reviews and criticism .. i'm sure you can also appreciate my opinion as well
i think many people want the drama to be something so they forget to appreciate what it actually is , they forget to see the beauty of it and learn something from it .. the story here is beautiful and it's more of a healing slice of life than it is a corny romcom and i appreciate it for what it is

yes of course .. i was supposed to come and post this comment again before because it guess the one i commented before got buried and new watchers miss it .. i remembered by chance and visited this page and saw many depressed people hating on the drama for the ending so i thought noooo i have to clear it up so they can be happy like me about it
As if park min young needed to lose any more weight than she was in love in contract!!!! Like she was already too skinny that it kinda made her look sick almost . Perfect for the role here … honestly at this point she’s really not taking care of her health being this skinny no one can convince me she’s nurtured
