idk if you saw his face when the 7 with jang hyun kneeled for the king and said how they risked ttheir lives for him .... the look on his was a look of yay they all would do the same for me when the time comes ( the all of this is mine look, a look of possessions) , he looked very satisfied and happy to be unlike the king who was grateful, he on the other hand didn't give it much thought because as i said he thinks he's entitled to it and they didn't do much as that is their duty to protoct the royals..... the scene where he throws the ink stone amplifies and confirms what i'm saying cause again if you go back and see what angered the crown prince and caused him to throw the ink stone you'd see how he's the type who could care less for his people.. it's clear as day that he'll be the villain because jang hyun is made to be "a man who didn't behave well " and who is capable of doing that or else thought that jang hyun was being inappropriate and rude other that a powerful official let alone the crown prince himself.... he's in the making of a selfish tyrant and did you notice how he only asked about his son and couldn't care less for his queen who might've been dead too ? why only for his baby son because he needs an heir at all cost.. god forbid he lays eyes on gil chae if he knows she saved his son .. and i hope that's not how all the problems arise .. oh and regarding volunteering as a hostage everyone says things in royal court to seem courteous.. he was demanded to be hoatage by the army of the jin but he never left because he never intended to leave .. he would never do it .. it's the same as when they tell the king to kill them for doing mistakes but they don't mean it and he says it anyways because he knows no one will allow him to do that... lol he wasn't working with jang hyun for the sake of the country but for his own sake and to look good in front of all officials .. he was told it's all for smallpox but never relayed that info to the king he deliberately hid it and asked the king to step out of the fortress.. his intentions are highly questionable and he already started on a bad foot with jang hyun .. jang hyun helping him doesn't earn him a favor because the cp believes that jang hyun and all people are his servants and he's entitled to order them around which normal for a cp anyway ... and i've seen too many saeguks to know from the looks of a person that they may turn into a villain

i've been thinking if someone recognizes she saved the crown prince's son and the cp takes a liking and notices her .. this might be a path the drama might take to make it harder on us and hence another angle of how the cp could continue being the bad guy .. since in the left episodes that we have there has to be something to the show the melodrama that it is and how jang hyun will be made to be this crazy man who didn't behave well.. this is one of my theories

it seems to me that his own people will turn against him. i knew it because the people yielding swords in the scene of the first episode looked like Joseon people rather than another army .. i guess he's made to be a traitor rather than a hero , i say we need to be prepared for some annoying and angsty royal court schemes in season 2
