Is there any romance in the drama? Cause I really want to watch it but if it's only about investigations..it's…
@Figani wow very well explained!! I agree with every word! Bad Guy is one of the best revenge themed dramas, i love how you explained each perfectly! However I must say though I do think Bad Guy has a better story, my rating doesn't say so and this drama actually got better rating from me. The reason is that this one actually carried the pace till the end without failing me. Whereas BD did fail very early on in the story. So looking at the more compelling story I'd say BG but overall I think this one carried itself better. I have yet to watch shark! I really loved your description of each :)

This is very underrated!
Good drama, thrilling tight writing and directing and beautiful cinematography. The cast is a stellar! I already like most of them especially Chun Jung Myung! The villain character (Jo Jae Hyeon) was amazing and finally the girls weren’t over-shadowed by the guys they rocked too! If you are looking for a good revenge-themed drama sneak a peak on this one!

The suspense is right on! Thank god this is nothing like God's gift!!
I love Hye In she's in control and strong even though she's dying in the inside, yet she still holds up strongly. There is nothing to be gained when you lose yourself and your mental, she knows she has to be strong to save her son. Kim Ah Joong is doing GREAT job! And UTW is the drama's best charm I love everything he says, blunt and honest even if it's not what you want to hear it is what you need to hear! I hope the drama can hold on to the quality.

I marathoned this drama in 3 days. I did enjoy it to some point but it got draggy and slow sometimes. This is focused too much on the romance I don't like revenge themed dramas when they are focused on romance but here I admit it was pleasant because I never got to see UTW being romantic. I'm mostly happy that I finally have it on my complete list it's been sitting on my PWL collecting dust for a long time :)

Is this good? Should I watch it?
Definitely recommended! But keep in mind it gives dark vibe and the romance is far from the main focus here (which is what I personally appreciate here) but just in case I'm letting you know :)

Person Moon Chae Won
Moonie no problem! Actors are bound to choose flop projects at some point it is inevitable. Just learn from it…
Goodbye Mr. Black.
After a huge success one drama after another this one was a flop.

I know that the writer wrote this with the good intention of telling people to give jdramas a try but this is…
I agree with you regarding the comparison, that is why I said there is no room for comparison really, people are different and we get emotionally invested for different things there is no right answer here. As I said they are both beautiful in their own way and their differences are what make things interesting, if J dramas and K dramas offered the same things it would be boring. Nothing will be special, there won't be an identity for each :)
IwahashiGirl Jun 21, 2016
The ever-none-ending-comparison between J dramas and K dramas lol! First of all I would like to say that I believe J dramas are loved just as much as K dramas are if not more (MDL is not a reference to be honest). I think the reason why J dramas seem to be over-shadowed by K dramas is because of the promoting and the "type of fans". J drama fans normally would not be as active as K drama fans (I have many friends who are only J drama fans but are never active they just watch silently) and that makes it seem as if J dramas aren't being appreciated enough when they truly are (I've read many beautifully written articles and reviews about J dramas more than K dramas, in fact I know many Korean-Americans who would write reviews about J dramas and compare them to K dramas and would always praise J dramas over K dramas). They are absolutely loved and appreciated. Japan is a long history whereas Korea's Hallyuwave started only few years back. In other words Korea is flourishing now.

That being said I really think those two shouldn't be compared. As a fan of both I love both for different reasons, I love both for their own characteristics and beauty and I accept the flaws of both. However I agree with one of the commentors it is rare to find a true fan of both, one who actually appreciate both equally. It all goes back to taste and preferences. Of course many other elements are involved too such as lack of accessibility and strong promoting. In the end both of those worlds are beautiful the way they are and for the fans who watch both they will have things to complain about and things to admire nothing is 100% perfect and flawless. Let's face it what good does it do if they are all the same? It would be boring.

Although I don't like generalizing as to "which country does this genre better" but I admit that I'm guilty of doing so. I always say that J dramas are the best when it comes to "human/slice-of-life stories". And I am guilty of believing that to the core! I'm not trying to belittle any other country but Japan has indeed excelled in those type of dramas since forever and though Korea can produce such dramas they rarely ever last in my memory as long as a masterpiece J drama would. But there will always be an exception! Misaeng, Signal and Memory are examples.

I love J dramas for all the reasons which everyone has already mentioned (yes I read every comment here lol) but I'll also add that I love them for the fact that they preserve and never changed what distinguishes them from the rest of the world. Unlike K dramas which have been changing ever since it went international, J dramas didn't budge to change! I have been a fan of Asia as whole all my life Bollywood, Japan, Korea, China and Taiwan. It saddens me so much that I had to give up on Bollywood movies now and only rewatch the old ones because I don't like how they changed to fit the "international taste". That is exactly what happens when your favorite things go "international". Korea is just turning into another Bollywood loss if they keep trying to fit into the "international standards". I'm an old school fan and I prefer the old dramas no matter how cliched people may think they are, to me they are the true soul of each country's dramas and they have the true authentic identity into them. If I wanted to watch something that fits the "international standards" then I would go for western TV. The reason I got fascinated by Asian Dramas is the fact that they are "different" if they slowly turn into western TV then there is no point in watching them, at least not to me. Basically what I'm trying to say here is; J dramas are still protecting that authenticity and identity because they simply produce those dramas for Japan ONLY not for us international fans. Therefore, they won't budge to change their ways just to satisfy the international fans and as a result we get the privilege of watching the same quality we loved in them and would expect from them.

Yes a larger fan base, going international and getting popular has its pros as other commentors have already mentioned "more dramas would get subbed" but think of the consequences. I personally do not want J dramas to go international for the reasons I already mentioned. The cost is just too high I don't want to lose another thing which I have been passionate about since as long as I can remember!

Last but not least, I would like to thank you for this article which was wonderfully written and brought such great comments too. Normally I don't particpate much in written articles on MDL and I certainly don't invest my time to read every single comment but I did this time! And I do apologize for my really LONG comment xD

The Korean version is not terrible, (yes, it was not as electrifying, thought-provoking or as satisfying as the original series) but I still think Go Hyung Jung's portrayal was believable... to a certain extent. However Yuki's Maya-sensie was mystical, strong, intense, fantastic and interesting! Her "open your eyes" gave me the shivers whereas Go Hyun Jung's Maya-snesie never supported that appraisal. The K adoption was more on the surface level, more clichéd and sentimental. It did not add anything new to the story nor value so if you only have a room for one I definitely recommend going with the original Japanese version! While the K adoption isn't bad it is much less of quality in comparison

sadly i dropped this one, turned into something so cliche from the first episode that hooked me, plus the male…
I couldn't agree more! So much nonsense. I liked Ki Kwang much better as Ki Tan and he's an idol :/

Avant-garde camera works, good acting, unpredictable story... I like it.
I agree :)
And I love that the "romance" isn't the main focus here! Finally.

Although the cases aren't as interesting as the previous season but I liked the main characters the best here. I really loved all 3 of them and of course Lee Joon's acting skills make everything watchable

FULL of cliches but man how much I'm enjoying this drama :D
I love all 3 of them! Gong Shim, Dan Tae and Joon Soo. We get to watch 2 sweet guys not one! NGM is outdoing himself he's really amazing but Min Ah is a wonderful surprise her awkwardness is so sincere!

OMG Go Hyun Jung and Go Doo Shim are killing me! There scenes are so real, so sincere that t's wrench my heart! Such rewarding feeling when I'm watching this drama 8.4 doesn't do it any justice.
