This drama has 3 directors. I wonder how that's gonna pan out. I know its not uncommon for Western shows to have several directors based on the episodes but this is kinda new for c-dramas.
I wonder how that's gonna play out on the pace, tone, and mood of the series as it progresses. Youku should've hired the director who did A Familiar Stranger and Butterflied Lover! That director is absolutely brilliant!
The fact that the FL as a child didn't even tremble or cry after witnessing her family slaughtered but wants revenge…
In the novel, she was playful but she wasn't as deluded as the director has made her to be but rather cool and level headed. The introduction of these two characters in the drama was added in (the pirate scene) and completely unnecessary! They should've just kept it as per the novel. The massacre did nothing to convince the audience of her revenge or bring out the emotional labour that happens when one loses their family due to political unrest. The villains are laughable. The marquis does not act like someone who inspires fear and tremor. Instead he's at his wits end trying to reign in his lazy and outrageous son!
To the novel readers, will someone please tell me if Ren Anle/ Di Ziyuan is the stronger character between Han…
Can you clarify? As in martial arts, strategies, politics? They are all have their strong points but there are differences which would be a result of personal temperament and circumstances etc
Honestly, Youku just keep disappointing me! IQIYI or 10cent should've picked this up at least they would've given some consideration for the original text.
It's trying to give this slice of life/comedic ambience to the scenes and dialogue but honestly, it's affecting the emotional output towards the characters and the themes that made the novel great! They really removed the complexity and nuances of the leads just to give us playful and innocent screen time together. I would have rather have them meet when they played the chess match than that shitty Pirates of the Caribbean battle they recreated. Even the presumed villains are laughable like who the fuck shouts out all the the crime they've committed in the front of their residence?
