The dispute originated in August 2024 when several recordings and chat logs claiming to involve Zhang Haowei circulated on social media platforms, attracting widespread attention. On August 23 of the same year, the defendant, Mao Moumou, admitted during questioning by the police that the relevant materials were forged by him using technical means. Investigations revealed that there was a previous economic dispute between the two parties, and Mao Moumou fabricated and spread false information to exert pressure.
