Ba Dao Shao Ye Ai Shang Wo (2023) is a supposed romance drama that, even though the leads have good chemistry, the plot is difficult to swallow. On this drama, both families were toxic and the leads have suffered trauma that left them with PTSD and distrust. Both male and female leads had their own hidden agendas and, even when they worked well together, his lack of trust issues, made it difficult for both leads to reassure each other. The romantic scenes were all covered by body positioning and cloudiness and, even after falling for the leading lady, the male lead was always threatening her. At the end of the day, justice is served and the drama gave the leading couple a good ending but, the last minute of the drama, Qi Yue, the male lead’s brother, instead of facing court, dies of a self inflicted wound.

There Are Always Bad People Who Want to Hurt Me is a 2024 historical to modern times romance drama with some hilarious comedic moments. The drama has Jia Pei Kai as the male leading characters Daxi Emperor/Gu Jing Ci and Zhu Mo Yan as the female leading characters Shen Qing/Shen Si Wei. The leading couple has very good chemistry, especially on their playful moments since, even though their fondness is nicely conveyed, the romantic scenes are blurred and short, which made those moments seem fake. Aside from that, the drama is very entertaining, enjoy it!

Prefer to Your Highness Princess (2024) (Can be found on You Tube under the caption: [ENG SUB]Reborn and Loved by My Possessive Brother) This is a nice revenge miniseries with Zhang Ji Jun as Gu Si Ye and Meng Na as Tan Shu Yu in the leading couple’s role. Although the lead couple has some good romantic scenes, they were done in a flash and the chemistry was on and off, especially from Meng Na. The revenge was planned according to Tan Shu Yu knowledge of her past life but, even though the antagonists got what they deserved, there were some ridiculous incidents on the drama but, overall, it is entertaining.

Chong Sheng Zhi Jiang Men Di Fei (2023) is a rebirth drama with a very slight romance that has Hou Mingxuan (as Chu Qingce) and Xia Qian as (Xie Zhiyun) in the leading couple’s role. The story is more about Xie Zhiyun rebirth after she and her family are betrayed by her husband and her adopted sister. In her new life, she gets revenge and gets in a relationship with Prince Chu Qingce. Although the plot was nice, the acting is not that great and the romance is toned down; also the acting is not the best. Tempt Him (2024) is a nice romance miniseries with Xiao Qifeng as Pei Songhe and Lan Lan as Sheng Zhiyi in the leading couple role. The drama has a nice romance, mystery. secrets that create misunderstandings, an arrange marriage, and a leading man, Sonhe. that will go to any lengths to protect the leading lady Zhiyi. The relationship goes through some ups and downs due to Songhe been willing to be misunderstood in order to be able to safeguard Zhiyi. As everything starts falling in place and Zhiyi recognizes the sincerity of Sonhe’s feeling, their love becomes stronger and steadfast leading them to a somehow rushed but good ending.

Kao Jin Wei Xian De Ta (2024) is a very nice romantic drama that starts with revenge and ends in love for the leading couple played by Liu Qing as Lu Zhi Zhan and Hu Dong Qing as Jiang Ke Hua. Jian Ke Hua believes Lu Zhi Zhan has something to do with her father’s puzzling death and she approaches Lu Zhi Zhan to find the truth. Both Zhi Zhan and Ke Hua are smart, scheming, and resilient so, they both engage on a cat and mouse game that leads them to slowly fall in love with each other; but danger lurk in the most familiar places and Ke Hua is led to believe that Zhi Zhan killed her father. Painfully, she decides to act against Zhi Zhan. This drama is well written and the cast did a good job bringing their characters to life, It has a happy ending and the leading couple has great chemistry. The drama has many different captions on YouTube which have some problems with audio, subtitles, or loud music. I managed to watch between these two captions without much difficulty: Madam, Stop Pretending: President Lu Has Fallen for You | Liu Qing & Hu Dongqing and She approached the most dangerous CEO for revenge, turned the cold-hearted man into a clingy BF.

Love Me Like I Do (2023) is a nice romantic comedy with Liu Yin Jun as Liu Xi Lai and Zhang Mu Xi as Tian Tian in the leading couple roles. Given that is a comedy, there are some absurd situations and many laughable moments; there is also big corporation antics and some misunderstandings that are quickly resolved. The chemistry between Liu Yin Jun and Zhang Mu Xi is very good whether they are bickering or intimate, they did a good job bringing their characters to life. The drama has a nice, funny, and cute happy ending but it really slows down on episode 17, which is a bit boring. Nevertheless, for the most part, the drama is more comedy than romance but the leading couple has a good rapport with a steady character and romantic growth.

Determination to Leave (2024) is a miniseries about Jiang Yue, (played by Peng Dai Dai), her rebirth and a new opportunity to get back what is righteously her. The drama is more about using her prior knowledge and outsmarting her adversaries. Although she finds support and love on her childhood friend, Gu Jin Chao (played by Xie Hong Xin), who was always looking for her, this drama is not about their romance but it is about finding your true worth and the people in your life that deserves your love and attention. Although sometimes she seems callous and heartless toward her biological family, in the long run, they dug their own graves, and Jiang Ye didn’t exactly got revenge, she got justice. The drama is okay for people who like to watch the victim getting what is owned to her and the abusers getting what they deserved, but the drama got boring and the female lead didn’t have a good variety of facial expressions.

Are You The One is a great drama set in a historical time with a beautiful love story. It has well choreographed action scenes, beautiful cinematography, and a pleasant OST. The leading couple, Liu Mian Tang (played by Wang Chu Ran) and Cui Xing Zhou / Lord Huaiyang / Cui Jiu (played by Zhang Wan Yi), is a force to be reckon with. They are both capable, cunning, quick-witted, smart, and warm-hearted toward each other. Their relationship begins with a farce but, through their interactions and as they work together to resolve obstacles and complications, they grow to love each other. This love is tested when the lies are unveiled and each other’s real identity is revealed. Up to this point, the drama is provoking with the mix of mysterious characters and a lovely budding romance. The cast did a great job bringing their characters to life and the leading couple has a great playful exchange of teasing remarks, very well written dialogues, and a pleasant romantic chemistry. Yuan Yu Xuan did a great job portraying the seemingly shy Shi Xue Ji that surprises the audience with her character’s shy and clumsy demeanor while concealing her true nature’s maturity and cleverness. Even though the drama starts to slow down on the second half after the drama reaches its pinnacle, and the finale feels rushed, the drama is entertaining.

Ji Zong Nin De Ma Jia Ruo Diao Le (2023), with the leading couple Sun Yue as Ji Ming Xiu and Xu Yi Zhen as Xia Yan, is supposed to be a romantic drama but it is more a romantic comedy with some really funny moments and an insipid romance. The leading couple has a nice playful chemistry but there are no sparks in the relationship. The leading male has liked her for a long time and, although they have an intimate night together already, once they get married, she keeps him at bay for most of the drama even when he is constantly helping her and showing his love in many ways. The story is one that has been played many times but in this one, to make matters worse, the female lead has an incurable disease, forces him to divorce, and leaves him so he will not suffer but he spends five years suffering from loving and missing her. Her friends, thinking that he has moved on, are accusative and dare to say that she has always wanted to come back to him and, on the long run, it turns out that it is up to him to get her back. Overall, the drama is not really romantic, the pace, even though the drama is short, seems like an eternity to get to a “happy” ending with a boring and bland ending.

Lost in the Midnight (2024) is a revenge drama with a dose of romance for the leading couple that, even though they had many nice intimate and sensual moments, their true heartfelt feelings for each other are not revealed until the very end. Some of the supporting cast members did a good job in acting but others lacked acting skills and looked more like fake lunatics. The drama is more about the main couple Lou Xiao (played by Chen Si) and Si Yue / Jian Huan (played by Yu Yin), their fated encounter and intimate involvement, their connection to a sadistic and powerful family that is out to destroy them, and their desire for revenge upon a mutual enemy. The lead couple is smart and capable but the male lead, Lou Xiao, is too aggressive and violent toward Jian Huan (Si Yue) even when he was trying to protect her. Si Yue was so focus on revenge that she would do anything like lying, seducing, conspiring, and even risking her life for the sake of revenge which drove Lou Xiao mad out of mistrust, pain, and frustration dealing with Jian Huan (Si Yue) and her deceitful demeanor in addition t his most earnest desire to hold onto her. The drama moved terribly fast and the leading couple’s feelings are not in tune to each other until the end. Still, even though the drama is not perfect, it is entertaining.

Fallen Rule is a nice and lighthearted romantic comedy, The male lead goes all the way to make sure that he gets the girl whom he has been in love for 10 years and his family and friends are all aboard making sure that they have a smooth sailing into pleasantly developed love story with a happy ending. Since it is a miniseries, it is fast paced and sometimes it feels as everything is rushed but the leading couple is really cute and, even though their romantic scenes are not memorable, the drama delivers a good laugh and tenderness from the main couple and friends. Overall, this miniseries is entertaining.
