My Special Girl is a nice drama of the growth, perseverance, and self-discovery of the female lead Hao Liang / A Dai Jie (played by Ireine Song) and the male lead Gu Jiu Li (played by Leon Zhang). The leading couple started their interactions as boss and a student that gets an internship in his company because she fell in love with Gu Jiu Li at first sight. As they star to work and spend time together, Gu Jiu Li finds himself more and more attracted to Hao Liang. Although Gu Jiu Li takes his time to recognize that he has fallen for Hao Liang, he is always concern about her and is ready to lend a helping hand at a moment’s notice; Hao Liang equally reciprocates with help and concern as their feelings developed into a beautiful committed and unwavering love. The leading couple has good chemistry and there are some really funny moments as they navigate their relationship. The drama has a happy ending but it is insipid. Overall, the drama is nice and entertaining, enjoy it!

This is a very well done second chance romance and seeking justice miniseries. The main characters did a good job bringing their characters to life and the leading couple has great chemistry. There were unlikeable characters that did not act so well and a bit of incoherence due to the nature of the fact that many miniseries lack fluid transition between episodes. The male lead acknowledges that he wronged the female lead at the beginning but the drama is more about how he spent the 6 years separation period, her return seeking justice for herself, working together to unravel the mystery behind her grandfather’s death, and finding a way to reconciliation. Even though there are some times that keeping the antagonist around when they knew she was rotten and going on solo “missions” did not make sense, one must remember that that is the way the plot was written. : ( Overall, the drama is entertaining, enjoy it!

Afterlife of Love and Revenge is a lighthearted miniseries that starts with the premise of second chances in life. Pang Long Yue (played by Ma Qian Qian) suffers a betrayal and is killed along with her husband. Next, she finds herself alive on the night of her wedding when she decides to make the best out of this second opportunity. With the knowledge of her past experiences, she manages to outsmart those that hurt her and joins hands with her husband to better themselves. The leading couple was good together but there was no strong romantic chemistry, just a strong and steadfast support for each other and some funny scenes from her comedic antics. The drama has a nice ending.

On this second season, the main lead Sheng Nan Fang (played by Bai Hao Yan) wakes up a month later with amnesia after been struck by a van on his failed wedding day to the female lead Su Shao Yan (played by Feng Yi Ran). Although the first part of this season has comical relief, the mistrust and misunderstandings continued even though the male lead has an established affinity with the female lead and instinctively keeps caring for her well-being. Even though this show has corporate betrayal, assassination attempts, and wicked antagonists, the relationship between male and female lead is the core of the story and, as in the first season, the leading couple has great chemistry, steadfast care and love, and a precious little girl that adds fun to the story. This is a nice miniseries to watch while waiting for a great one to come and there is another miniseries (Forever Love-2023) with almost the same plot that is absolutely great so, watch this one first and savor “Forever Love” next. The plot in this revenge drama can’t be taken seriously because the male antagonist (Ma Cheng Jun played by Denny Deng) was a guy with an evil buffoon aura that didn’t play well with the grand scheme. The leading couple was okay but the leading guy didn’t have enough instances to display his bodyguard fighting skills and the leading lady is not great at playing a woman in love. Still, the drama is watchable and entertaining.

“Ready For Love?” is a well done miniseries but the ending was a bit rushed and, although it is clear that Tang Jing Xing (played by He Chang Xi) truly loves Mi Chu Xia (played by Ju Ke Er), the scene at the end between Tang Jing Xing and Mu Huai Jin (played by Wang Ze Lei) seems to be intended to leave an indirect indication of suspense about Jing Xing’s real feelings for Mi Chu Xia hinting that there might be a second season about her real identity. Whether that is the case or not, “Ready for Love? Is a really good miniseries and the leading couple has great chemistry. Enjoy it!

The premise of this story is really nice and the and the relationship between Zuo You (the grass fairy) and Lu Qing Ming (a powerful immortal possessed by a demonic force) develops nicely and in a realistic way, but they don’t have good romantic chemistry. The leading couple carries the majority of the plot in this very short drama but the sequence of events is jolty been the main reason that the plot has too many things going on and very little time to create cohesion within the story. Overall, this miniseries fails to provide enough time to the cast to make it a better story.

"Love at Second Sight" is a short web drama that had potential but the main leads don’t have good chemistry and for a male lead that is a great catch, the plot really messed with him too many times. The female lead is wrong over and over again and the male lead deserves better. The female lead is not even completely honest with her best friend about the real reason to why she broke up with him and her friend is always barraging him with false accusations that the female lead doesn’t care to correct and portrays herself as the victim. Wang Zu Yi (as Gu Yi Bei, the male lead) is great bringing his character to life and shows a good range of emotions but Shao Yu Qi (as Su Nan, the female lead, lacks proper use of facial expressions and body language. Overall, the drama was not convincing in bringing the leading couple’s relationship to a satisfactory end since the end seems more like a dream.

This drama had some strong points regarding the main male lead and his dealings with the antagonists which he resolved even with the help of the main female lead but the drama is supposed to be about the leading couple and their fated romantic union. Although the leading couple had a very good camaraderie, steadfast feelings for each other, and a cute playful relationship, their romantic intimate scenes lack excitement. Even though the ending is a happy one, it is uneventful and boring. This drama is okay to watch while waiting for a great one to come!

Bride's Revenge is a well written and produced miniseries. This drama is about simply revenge and not really about the romance between the leading couple. Although there is certainly a nice, smart, and tender relationship between Ye Qing Lan (played by Qu Meng Ru) and Mu An Cheng (played by Vincent Wei), they don’t get together until the very end of the story, but the audience gets to see them working together to bring the villains to justice. The female lead starts as a nice and lovely girl that is force to become calculative and cold hearted by the antagonists in the story proving that, even though revenge is never sweet, it will sure give the victim a sense of satisfaction knowing that justice was served. The cast did a very good job bringing their characters to life and the drama was entertaining. Enjoy it!

Mommy’s Counterattack is a nice miniseries. Although it is not an award winning miniseries, it is quite entertaining. The actors did a good job bringing their characters to lie and the leading couple developed a fairly good chemistry within the restrains of plot and length of the drama. Some of the supporting cast were not up to par with their character’s role but they it was not awful as to deter the viewer from enjoying the short drama. The storyline could’ve benefited from several more episodes and lengthier duration but, overall, it is a fast paced and enjoyable watch.

Since it is a miniseries, the love story emerges quickly, the romance starts on episode one and it develops nicely with some keen twists that kept the viewer interested and expectant. Hello, I’m At Your Service is a light romantic comedy within customer service work place setting. The drama is full of likable characters and the leading couple, for the most part, has very good chemistry. Although there is a business plot in the drama and it is presented with business related difficulties and antagonists trying to get the business down, the main plot is the leading’s couple relationship. Dong Dong En and Lou Yuan is a very compatible couple in matters of intelligence and wits, but sometimes, the rich guy-poor girl cliché mentality gets in the way of the relationship flow. It doesn’t take long to be resolved but it gets a little bit tiring to think of throwing a working relationship away because of insecurities. Even though at some point it is repetitive, their love for each other is stronger than the supposed impossibilities and they keep working to make their romantic relationship work. Overall, the drama is nice and entertaining for the most part. Enjoy it!

This is a great historical drama with an excellently developed plot that provides good action scenes, a very engaging and well synchronized OST, beautiful cinematography, relentless betrayal from the most conniving and immoral antagonists, fantastic chemistry among the cast, a sometimes heartbreaking but lovely romance for the leading couple that withstood everything that came its way, and solid performances that bring these characters to life. This drama is intense, full of raw emotions, shameless greed and sense of entitlement, but above all, there is the impressive portrayal a man that fought with all his might to seek justice for his loved ones and a woman that was not afraid to challenge her own family to keep him alive. This is a good drama to watch and enjoy as long as you are not looking for a great romantic story. The drama is about Zhouhua and her journey to become a female official on the imperial court and her path to self discovery. The cast did a fantastic job bringing their characters to life and there’s good solid character growth that makes the drama flow nicely toward its conclusion. The drama is a mix of action, palace antics, strategic schemes, and a slow burned romance with great intellectual exchanges between the main leads but no electrifying romantic chemistry. It is nice to see how the female lead realizes that loving and marrying is more about finding the right person that complements and respects her than looking for someone to depend on. The male lead character was ahead of his time and was a great intellectual match to the female lead. In my opinion, a drama that is going to conclude with the successful achievements of both career and personal life of Zhouhua could’ve had a better intimacy with the male lead. Not sure if the lack of chemistry is a choice of the director to create stoic characters rather than more realistic characters on their way to fall in love. Feng Shao Feng is a good actor that can give good romantic vibes but lacks on intimate connections, not sure if it is a personal choice for conservative cultural followers or just his lack of willingness to carry out amorous scenes. Overall, the drama was great in all other aspects except for the leading couple’s romantic representation.
