My take is that it is their fate is predetermined to that point, as if XXC wasn’t the one who survive, he wouldn’t be the one who take the seed and go up that ladder and travel back to that timeline to save the young MXL and be her Da GeGe, it’s the same timeline in cycle. This is like the movie “Interstellar”, not explaining my self well. lol!😅

This timeline time travel thing is complicated. It’s not that XXC cannot remember he travelled to rescue the young MXL, it’s that in the time line, it hasn’t happened. So if you see the author way of writing is that, XXC has to be the one who survived the whole sequences, in order to take the seed, to climb the ladder and goes back to the time line to save her then MXL existed. It’s like the story “Interstellar”. Hahahha…I am not doing a good explaining.😅

Sorry, should explain clearly. “Dun Zhu” is Chaos Pearl in Chinese. The one on top of Celestial ladder is Wheel of Time, you will see him in latest ep. Chaos Pearl, Book of Fate and Wheel of Time are artifacts just come to existence with the world, they are powerful being and not bound by worldly events. However Zhao Ming cultivates the Chaos Pearl and gave her the human form, which will be shown soon in next few ep. Apology if I have too much spoiler😓.

There are theee artifact that is not bound by the world which are Dun Zhu, Time (which is at the top of Celestial ladder, and Book of fate/destiny). I don’t think ZM has intention to harm MXL or XXC.
