Yes, totally agreed. Now for ZQL, his life will not be just full with memories of anguish, instead it will be meaningful relationships with these two other buddies. Even they have to go, he will have these memories to keep in momentarily recollection.
That’s why it’s understandable that he ghosted her when he saw she is in a relationship. He is slow to attune to his emotions as set up by his tragic abandonment encounter from parents. So he hides and avoid, but that’s the growth for ML’s character arc, to admit his mistakes and chooses now to be honest and be with FL even she was trying so hard to push him away.

It’s a good closure, so now left some missing pieces after Tomb of the Sea, if this author wanted to make continuation, will be focus on those side stories. But if the author didn’t, it’s also fine;) 10yrs period waiting for XiaoGe is a long time and a lot to settle but we know now the trios will survive. XiaoGe’s story was most impactful for me too, his journey to find his origin, mother and accepting his role. Truly amicable character, I will miss him.

Yup, so if they will make more dramas on this series will be the missing piece after Tomb of sea or other side stories in that 10yrs where Wu Xie helped XiaoGe to clear all the other rival families. But from this, we know the trios will survive and retired happily;) Now you can slowly watch and savour the story in peace😍.
