I don’t think there will be a S2, so it’s a bit silly that this drama gave us an OE for more mystery unsolved. The ending was just a rush through🤣. That dance scene is the only dance scene, agreed that it is very nicely choreographed. I think my issue with FL(which is not popular opinion), her acting is disjointed from the first original YCW, which the previous actress done a good job to set the character and great chemistry build up with ML, then after the face swap, JJY has her own interpretation of FL, who become too cute and sweet. If I see them as separate character, it’s passable acting. As JJY’s acting has been the same for all her dramas, her make up is the same, her little gestures are the same in all dramas🤣. The only refreshing pet in this drama for JJY was when she acted as vicious girl🤣 And you are spit on to pick up on the 100 layers make up, not sure why her team put such Cakey look on her. Some said because JJY is idol background so that’s how it is. You should watch the first 3ep., the other YCW do a very different interpretation, which I much prefer for this characterization. But oh well…that’s how it is.

After binged watch till the end, it took me a while to settle on the ending this drama has given us. To me, this drama has many good points, The beautiful cinematography, the nicely choreographed fights and dance scenes, beautiful costume! The leads were fantastic pairs, I have no issues with the acting and casts, thought it was well portrayed. The mystery solving at some points were predictable and some scenes were over convoluted which can be simpler, as if doing twist for twist sake. My biggest struggle was about some plot twists and story consistency and how it end. After such a build up, the ending could be smarter and how the events unfold was rather rush and not planned out, but again these are my subjective opinions. I started this with no expectation and was pleasantly surprise.
Overall, I am very glad that LXY who is a great actor, has gain more recognition because of this drama. It was also my first drama with JJY and quite like her acting here.
For an original script it’s quite well done, i applauded the effort and team.
I enjoyed chatting with some here, cya in future drama.

Oh, don’t get me wrong, I do like it. Just couldn’t figure out how to come to terms with the ending. Overall it was an enjoyable watch for me too. Nice chatting with you, catch you in other drama😍.

Yeah, the ultimate villian just came out in the last 5ep., and everything entangled with him where the viewers were made to feel the villian has the upper hand of all things till the sacrifice. After completing, I am not sure how I feel about this drama🤣.

He doesn’t have to die, IMO. The writer here wants to give viewers a traumatic and tragedy to remember off, and spin a plot of a great hero’s sacrifice in order to help the main lead uncover the truth. But if written more witty way, SML really doesn’t have to die. Hahahah…in my another universe, he can have a good ending with BXS.😅

Wow, smart way of watching. Yup, her dance was great. It’s HE for the main leads. Sad for 2ML, and OE because case not completely solve, more mystery about the hidden sect.

You have a good point there. Princess really sacrifices herself for greater good. I kind of feel sad for her.

The ML doesn’t have to protect FL as Shangguan Lan is very kind and accepted the situation. He even helped ML to rescue FL during her trial.

So if the 2ML didn’t die, there will be no evidence on the villian. So the script is written to doom SML, that’s so cruel! I actually feel quite sad for the Princess, she had helped so much and seems so easily forgotten.
So now what’s going to happen to the real YCW’s frozen body or face? Doesn’t the ‘real’ YCW wants to switch back her face?🤣 Isn’t that what ML told FL that he wants her to live her life as who she truly is? But now she will continue to live as SGZ’s face??!!. I see… and what’s with the ending unsolved mystery, will there be a S2?

I do see your point. That’s true. I was just feeling odd how the story was written in convenient plot. E.g. to find the register book, it happens to be at that location where only the Princess have to be the one to retrieve it and be put in that danger situation. i just felt the set up was too convenient.😓

Yes, I saw that, was wondering Princess could have not die. But that’s how this story is.

Yeah!!! I felt the Princess should have discuss with PY and SGZ to find a plan. She just choose to kill herself, really not her character set up so far. I am not convince.

I suspect it’s the Princess’s sister husband, Jia Quan.
