Watched till ep 34, half way and felt like dropping it…first the Mr Jin and his young boss’s motives are so unrealistic, the method they used just feels so childish. Then Gu Nan’s behaviour, HCF is already wary of him and yet, GN gets to do certain acts against and again, GN’s script is also repetitively on guilt trip about teaching HCF’s skill…. sigh…just felt frustrating to continue to watch. Somehow the editing or the writing…2 more ep to end and I feel I won’t be getting a satisfactory ending.

Yes, not much romance. Subtle romance, only hugging briefly in one ep and that’s it. But the ML & FL have good chemistry. I initially thought this drama can actually do without the romance. The main plot and story is interesting and captivating. I watched this to detox from L&P as it’s very different genre. ;)

What does Glutinous Rice & Waffle means ? The meal CX asked SS to give to GNT
Glutinous rice in Chinese is ”糯米” and Waffle is same pronunciation “wa 夫”, so putting together one word of each is “懦夫” means “coward”. So CX is hinting that GNT is coward for not returning the strip badge in person and have to ask Song Song to do it. This was very subtly explained by Song Song when he left GNT office.

Shifu challenges CF to open a lock and who ever wins, Shifu wants CF to go to the special ‘event’ (only selected locksmith are invited). There seems to be some big set up to hurt CF at the event, not reveal yet. Then Shifu instigated some secrets about Robin which CF didn’t know that force them to have a fight. Robin’s father accidentally caused CF’s sister death. Robin knew and didn’t know how to tell CF. Plot seems to thicken, think Shifu is manipulative and plant ideas on CF to be suspicious on all his good friends.
