It is said the drama passed the first review, and soon a second one begins. I remember that AT released month after the review. Does it mean we can have the Longest Promise sooner than in summer?
I want that rumour to come true as well. I have read the novel , the film is supposed to be based on. And I can…
Okay found the synposis of the novel. It seems it is translated to English. https://www.goodreads.com/book/show/30119105-the-borrowed So this is a story that has quite long time span, from 1960s to nowadays? Wow. Well, in Ace Troops we already saw Xiao Zhan playing a character from his teen to 50s. I think he could pull it off too. On the other hand, I do not want him to become "old" too soon. I mean, he is barely 30 :D Unless Wang Kar Wai will focus only on the part of it (hope it will be young detective in the stylish 60s), I doubt they will touch the later events since they may not pass censorships?

Yes! Plus the director style is so to my liking! It would be such a treat and another milestone for actor Xiao Zhan. I am keeping my fingers crossed this melon is not just a rumour! P.S. Is the book available in English? Can you make a little synopsis? You can put it in a spoiler ofc, I am not afraid of them ;)
If you mean the police/detective one I've heard rumors about, I join in and include a request for the series to…
Yes, the policeman one, only this is supposed to be a film, not a series titled "1367". Though I read XZ signed the one called "Blade" with Jackie Chan. Ofc those are only some twitter rumours and we can not be sure until XZ himself confirms.
I'm the only one who likes how CGI looks?I read comments and many pople rants how CGI looks horrible....Did I…
CGI is not that bad, I have seen worse, only it is a little bit too candy looking for my personal taste. I have started reading a novel and I wonder how they will cope with the huge Changming bird, or the human urn (how sick was that). The story is quite cruel (for now) and I think the dark color pallette should be more fitting.
I think you should only believe things that are releasing by his studio. Thanks!
I think you have a point. I do not think he had any accident, but he indeed looks a little different, like his eyes are smaller. I do not know if this is due to him maturing, or stopping using make up because it is not in line with current politics in China. But I see some change in his appearance. His smile also looks different, not as wide as before. Also most advertisements filters make him unusually pale and smooth and that does not look that great, I wish they just stop. I really prefer his looks from XZ Studio Videos, where he is all natural and smiley, wearing some simple sweathshirt. He looks best this way. Do not need to make him paler and reduce the adorable laugh lines.
Is it true that they showed Shi Ying’s grave in Mirror Twin Cities? If yes, which episode?Disclaimer: it doesn’t…
I may be weird but I love sad endings. Movies or shows with such endings have always bigger impact on me. Now I can not wait even more for this drama to air!
Xiao Zhan's entire look from the AudioVisual Performance was just AMAZING! Xiao Zhan's Recitation Part:https://weibo.com/2591595652/LdFxhggN9#commenthttps://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vQiXbZ_xqik&t=200sPerformance…
Maybe it is overinterpretation of things but recent Xiao Zhan's haircut looks very similar to the person wearing a brown coat on the poster. Could this be for the role? Not to mention XZ can skate too lol.
It is good that you look at him with such sane mind, I think XZ himself knows well his limitations as an actor. Actually, one particular scene I did not like was his crying scene as Tang Sang. I think he needs to learn how to control his voice in such scenes. It was really too much. But as Gu Yiye he improved a lot. I am looking forward to his next dramas or movies. Especially the slice of life one that is rumoured and still not confirmed. As for Wei Wuxian I never perceived him as "female" character, his character was strong, stood up for his values, fought etc. I also do not remember him crying that much in the Untamed (perhaps I forgot I watched it only once so far and few months ago). IMHO Gu Yiye cries more haha. But he does it so manly and beautifully I can't be mad.
Let me allow to disagree that GYY's character is treated fairly. There were numerous episodes, including the last 2 ones, where we saw him only in three or less scenes and his story was told by other characters, which in my opinion is very lazy writing. In this moment Yi Ye is more like secondary character, while everything evolves around Gao Liang. I feel like even Nanzheng's dad has more screentime than Gu Yi Ye ;( However, I am still glad we got the see this drama, even despite its flaws, because Xiao Zhan is so good in it ;)
Happy New Year to everyone! May it bring a lot of success and happiness to Mr Xiao Zhan because he deserves it! P.S. A little bit sad though, this is my first year since I know XZ and first year he did not perform during New Year Party :( But at least we have Gu Yiye in his wet tank top (still not over it, hope you as well).
Saw first 4 episodes and liking it so far, though I do not understand military stuff at all. I love Xiao Zhan in it, I knew he would be muscled goodies in tank tops, even wet ones *drooling* I am not into patriotic/propaganda stuff that much but love retro 80s setting etc. Only music would be better. Do you think the rest of the episodes will be uploaded to Youtube as well? or they finish at 4 as in Luoyang case? ;(
