Absolutely, normally in other drama, it was always a misunderstanding between families or characters but this one wasn't, it's the intention and selfishness of the FL's family so it's unavoidable for FL to suffer to atone the crime of her family. However, the FL is also a witty and tolerant woman.

I know that at those time, King was god BUT at least tell the poor man that you're in love with FL early to prevent unnecessary conflicts and show that you really did something, however everyone remain silent until the consummation night and FL was the one to take the risk too!! ML, what thing are you?!!

I just finished this drama and rushed here to complain! What the hack with the ML?!!!! He didn't deserve her at all. Unlike his father, he didn't do anything at all, I mean NOTHING!! After ep 16-17 I got frustrated and skipped more and more. Also, the scenes and plots were cut into pieces, it's barely understandable and dragged so much that even the comedy couldn't help anymore!!!

I'm even more fed up with the Emperor, my gosh, this man!!

Their romance is a slow-burn and subtle one. If you want to see them being in love after 5-6 eps, this drama is not for you, their love and trust were built slowly. Also, in this 26 eps drama, love is not the only thing; way of life, surviving and family problems included too so some ppl might think the romance scenes are too little. Oh, if you can't take annoying families, this drama also not for you, I almost drop it mid-way if it's not because of the face-slapping scenes afterward.

Romance on the Farm (the type that's rarely seen for historical drama), Royal Rumours and Yong An Dream, all rom-com.

I haven't read its novel but this drama reminded me of "Greetings, Ninth Uncle" novel, though Ninth Uncle novel was lighter, simple but addictive.

I think that difference is wider in Hollywood. Chinese actors/actresses still star in both movie and drama though sometimes not as much as in movie but how many actors/actresses in hollywood movie star in drama, they treat drama as if it's only for beginners.

For Wang Yibo, I feel it's his personal choice, he may not like love scenes in drama. Look at his work, how many involve love, his best works were always about peace, hero, friendship something like that. And Xiao Zhan, who got famous from the same drama as him, his choice mostly are dramas but who can say he's less famous than Wang Yibo. So choosing movie/drama, it's personal preference.
