I just think that even though it's a common thing, it doesn't mean we can't change it up. A lot of Kdrama fans tend to focus on male characters, which is okay, I guess. But let's not forget about the importance of female characters too. Remember how popular "Glory" was last year? It had a female lead, right? Even though Lee Dohyun did a great job, the emphasis was on Song Hye Kyo. I believe it's up to both the creators and us as viewers to realize that we can choose to support both male and female leads. It shouldn't be that difficult to give attention to female leads, especially when most Kdrama fans are women.

I've been noticing a lot of negative comments about Im Sol here, but I think the majority of LR fandom are still big fans of Hyeyoon. Some people think FL's character could have been written better, but I actually think she's one of the best-written characters in the show, even better than Sunjae.

In the opening scene, we are introduced to Sol, a woman on the brink of taking her own life. Her spirit broken by the actions of a cruel individual, she finds herself consumed by thoughts of despair and injustice. However, a small voice urges her to persevere, citing the simple pleasure of good weather as a reason to continue living for the sake of her loved ones and herself.

The transformation of her from her late teens to her thirties is striking, showcasing a shift from pessimism and vulnerability to optimism and independence. While some may see her younger self as reserved and tedious, her older self exudes strength and determination. She is not acting immature when she goes back in time, she is being herself. Those around her, especially Sunjae and Taesung, are surprised by this unexpected change in her behavior towards them, because the girl who was so reserved and unbothered by one of their existence suddenly took note to him while the opposite happened to the other person.

Sol is a multifaceted character, arguably the most intricate of all the characters in the show. She serves as the central figure, propelling the narrative forward. It is difficult to comprehend how someone could enjoy the show without appreciating Sol's essential role in its success. In essence, Sol is the show itself, without her presence, the story would lack direction and purpose.
Through her actions, she provided 19-year-old Sunjae with an opportunity to address his guilt and express his emotions, offering hope to the 34-year-old Sunjae and alleviating his depressive thoughts. She also allowed the college-aged Sunjae to experience love and ultimately gave him a chance at a fulfilling life. Moreover, she transformed Taesung's life and helped him rise above his past as a high school dropout delinquent. She enabled her best friend to find happiness with the person she loved and a family she cherished, rescued her mother from suffering abuse, and reunited her with her daughter. Additionally, she granted Inhyuk his best friend and the successful career he had always desired and gave Sunjae’s father, a happy son like he always wanted.

She did all this on her own, Alone and self-reliant, she dedicated herself to bringing joy to others, even at the cost of her own desires. Despite her unrequited yearning for someone who remained unaware of her existence, fate eventually bestowed upon her a well-deserved reward for her unwavering dedication and hard work.

In the words of Lee Sieun, she is the heart of the show. Without Sol and Hyeyoon, the essence of the production would be irrevocably altered. It is inconceivable to imagine Sunjae not being captivated by Sol from their very first encounter, particularly when portrayed by the incomparable Hyeyoon.

I beg all viewers to consider shifting their focus away from male characters in shows and movies, de-center men from your life, I beg of you. It is important to acknowledge and appreciate male characters, but becoming overly fixated on them to the extent that you neglect the nuances and depth of female characters is concerning. We must strive to do better in our analysis and understanding of the female characters, such as the complexity and intricacies present in Im Sol's character far surpassing those of Sunjae.

P.S; I always wondered why Hyeyoon was billed second in the drama despite her undeniable talent, numerous awards, and central role as the protagonist and muse. It appears that the industry has not treated her kindly. Imagine being the lead to the most popular shows this year and working so hard to not even get the same type of opportunities and praise as your male counterpart. I am just glad the cast consistently praised her efforts (except that director, he can go to hell)

I think what makes "Lovely Runner" so memorable is its balance in giving us the romance and comedy. It's a perfect balance, normally people find it difficult to find that balance when they add in emotional aspects or thriller genre.

Oh, I'm sorry, but did you just forget how she literally stopped him from falling in love with her just so he could be saved?! Do you think she's a time travel expert who knows exactly what to do when faced with either saving herself or saving the man she loves? And by the way, he willingly puts himself in danger for her. Neither of them has ever messed up. Putting down Sol to praise Sunjae for saving her is such a sexist and dumb move.

Sol is literally the most complex and beautiful character in the show. She loves selflessly. I'm sorry you didn't try to understand that these characters are written as human beings, not actual experts who know every detail about time travel. Also, it's not like she could just say out loud that she came from the future. Do you know how ridiculous that would sound?!

And for the last time, HE is the one saving her life. He chooses it over and over again because he likes it, he literally says it. The only one to blame is the taxi driver, and no one else.

It would have been better if you just said the drama was bad, but the way you talk about Sol tells me you didn't even try to understand her character.

It's pretty wild how much this show has completely consumed my life. I can't even remember the last time I thought weekends were boring. I'm actually excited for Mondays now, even when I'm at work. I find myself constantly thinking about the show, writing more, and feeling happier just imagining how everything will end with SolJae. It's like the start of a potentially exhausting obsession.

Let me give you my analysis about this show and why it has had a special effect on me and many others.

A Lot may argue that it was Sunjae portraying his unconditional love and regard for the love of his life that drew people in, maybe it’s the love that they shared that chained people in for the drama, maybe it's the humor, or maybe it’s the genre. But what makes this drama so special is IM SOL, the vivacious and loud lead, whose extreme regard for others safety and love makes her the most significant character and a plot device in this drama. No matter where the drama leads you to, she will be there ready to lay down her head in defeat as if she is the lamb ready to be sacrificed from the herd of people she loves.

Her love being selfless is nothing new, her love for herself isn't minor or something to be taken in the slightest disdain. Her love in general is astronomically magnificent and beautiful that it makes her stand out no matter wherever she goes.
Maybe that's why she is so easy to love, maybe that's why the universe gave her multiple chances as the universe wants her to find the love, she thinks she deserves, but fate and universe never goes together.
Her life has been a war between her universe and her fate, what her fate means is debatable but what her universe means is strong as a tree in the strongest winds of the season, Sunjae.
Sunjae has been her universe ever since she knew he spoke those sweet words of tales to covet her life. Sunjae who yearned for her glances, the Sunjae who had to use his gentlemen manners to have a touch of her hands, giving warmth to her cold hands. Sunjae who keeps holding her multiple times never allowing her knees to touch the ground. Her Sunjae, whom she began to covet for her heart once she knew he stole glances at her directly from his heart, whom she saw as not only the owner of her heart but the reason the light shone brighter in the morning sky, and she had a smile on her face.
Sol may never know how precious she was, if it wasn't for her universe constantly telling her to smile because the owner of your heart is willing to climb through the largest mountain just to drop blood in the dry sand and be submerged into the water, remembering the kisses and touches she gave him as his last breath draws in, remembering that she was his, she was easy to love and glad that she had kept him in her heart all this while for her to jump through time and space.

Im Sol now grieve stricken has found herself once again in the arms of her universe, yet she finds strength in herself to stray away from him, as she believes her fate and her universe never wanted to collide, all of the beliefs she had about her being easy to love has diminished into diamond dust waiting to be swept away under a rug, but that rug belongs to her universe, her universe will come back to her, over and over and over again if it meant he gets to challenge the fate she has learned to be scared of.

Her universe will come back to her, to remind her that he craves for her touch and kisses like he always did, to remind her that she is easy to love as she was the moment he laid his eyes on her even if the memory of her has been erased into the abyss, her universe would come back to her.

The snow would fall again, it would float into her hands as shining crystals which were once abbreviated into crystal dust reminding her that he is here, and he loves her.

I think until now the horse has been drawn beautifully, we have to see the last two eps to see if they can manage to keep up the good writing. Also, LR has always been melodramatic, it's the balance between comedy and melodrama that drew people in, so I think it's still too early to decide.
