Yeah, I mean it's totally okay to be selfish at that age, especially now due to the devorce she still doesn't want to loose any of her parents and I guess it's a survival instinct to make sure parents care for you by all means :-)

Yeah, the daughter plays the role so good !!! ...and exactly that: They separated and the daughter could do nothing about it and then she was forced to take sides somehow by where she wants to live, even if she hates the dad for some time now he was so much closer to her than her mom before and now on the trip she realized that.
I guess I have the same mixed feelings about calling the father. In one way, should you give in always to what your kid wants ? It seemed daughter was selfish in about just wanting attention from the dad while he doesn't really need to be there, I mean it wasn't that severe... ...but in another way, she was very close to her dad and why deny it. If the mother denies it only because of her pride & her may be feeling responsable, then it's wrong. So I guess I think the mom should have called him and let them talk at least on the phone. Truely the FL will still suffer a long time due to she thinks she neglected her daughter and family for many years...and there's a bit of a truth to it...as they said it's the first ever vacation in like 10 or more years or somthing !? The balance between job/family just wasn't right. Of course no reason for the stupid dad to cheat. The way he handled his affair girlfriend was even more asshole like.
Ep11 - FL & daugter story is written so good and detailed, I think the best I've seen since a very long time. It's shows so much the conflict in their mind about the whole situation and at that period of time there's no winners, only loosers. May be hardest for the daughter, as she's got no fault in that all and just could witness and now is forced to cope. It'll take a long while to heal for everybody to move on. I guess everybody asks him/herselve how did it come to this, without any clear answer possible.

Hm, I don't think in that respect that all Asians are the same, or even in one country they would be even the same. I'm not Asian, but I've Asian friends from e.g. the Philippines and Japan and in that respect they are all totally different. Like some would be more like you describe it and some totally opposite regarding s*xlife.
