By the way, If I were to recommend something light and fun, it would either be "Perfect Match" and/or "Destined".

That revenge was the most satisfying for me. Love that hd eventually died too.

Noble Consort Gao is great! I love bad people straight up being bad compared to characters that are wolf hiding in sheep clothing.

A character I enjoyed the most is Yuan Chunwang. He's resolute with his decisions; and I just really like his chemistry with Yingluo.

Haven't watch it either. But it is on my list. I was really not very fond of Xu Kai for the last several years after I watched him on Ancient Love Poetry, so I tried to avoid him at all cost...well, until just late last month.

Right now, I'm contemplating between Ruyi's royal love in the palace (Another imperial struggle) and Are you the one (light idol drama).

Thank you! It has become one of my fav drama as well. Truly, no plot device was wasted at all. I never expected Yingluo to still carry the revengeful spirit for her sister's rapist till the end. I myself even forgot that at one point.

I gotta agree. Fuheng's death was so unnecessary and pointless tbvh. I guess they simply wanted to create some more drama before the story ends, and he's the most fitting one. 😫

For the maid servant, I was so mad about it. She didn't even get to experience riding the bridal sedan and all that stuff.

Indeed. It's disappointing how lousy people are treating their craft these days. Like, there are more than 200 shows being released every year and only 1 -2% of them are of excellent grade. The majority is just too bad and foolish.

It truly started 2020 (pandemic era) that the quality started deteriorating. + Idol dramas dominated the market that year which resulted to prod team hastily releasing stuff just to compete with the trend. It's really frustrating how dramas these days are simply of low quality compared to back then.

There's actually a happy ending at the end of the ending credits. Have you watched that part as well?

Thank you! and I totally didn't have any background about this drama at all when I picked it. All I know is that it stars Song Yi (which I loved from Destined) and Cheng Lei. This is truly one of my best watch this year. So glad that I've got to watch it.

This is really such a good drama and probably my best of 2023 too.

I find it odd as well that people are giving it a score lessen than perfect when all it does is provide us with such superb storyline and great acting from each of the cast.

I guess not all people think alike afterall.

And Yes! I have previously watched Zhou Ye in Back from the Brink and I must say that her acting tremendoudly improved specially when it comes to heavy-malancholy scenes.

This is on my radar/watchlist for almost 2 weeks now and seeing your review on the vast number of MDL general reviews felt like a sign. Will watch this after I finish the one i'm about to watch.
