I absolutely love kiss scenes in dramas. I wait for them like crazy. And listen, I know Ren rarely does kiss scenes…
For me, kisses, being in bed, or even skin-to-skin touch aren’t what create real chemistry or love between a couple on screen. What truly matters is good direction and strong screenplay. That’s what conveys intimacy to the audience, even without kisses or other explicit elements. So the lack of impactful intimacy in the scene wasn’t because there was no kiss it was because the direction and screenplay weren’t effective enough.
I’ve watched many dramas from cultures or countries where censorship doesn’t allow on-screen kissing, yet their direction and screenplay are so good that the couple’s chemistry still feels electric. Even their fake kisses can give you butterflies. So it’s completely fine if the actors can’t kiss but what did the director and screenplay writer bring to the table here? Nothing.
I don’t think it’s so much fixated that he killed her master. It’s more she wants the truth from the culprit.…
both main characters in the story are at fault, and I don’t like either of their roles. Even if I overlook these aspects, I still don’t like the acting. You and I are two different individuals, so naturally, our perspectives will differ. I don’t agree with your views, and it’s not necessary for you to agree with mine. I’m not someone who enjoys long discussions just to prove my point , so I’ll end this conversation here.

When did I ever say that the girl knows the truth? Even if she doesn’t know the truth, in a situation like this a person naturally gets angry at their own family as well why are they supporting someone she hates? That’s a normal reaction for anyone. But the girl never once expressed her frustration to her father. Whether her father listens to her or not is a separate matter. My only point is that she didn’t show even a moment of anger toward him.
And let’s not forget that her father and the ML have a mutual-benefit relationship if one falls, the other falls too. Her father was also the one who helped the ML become emperor. And yes, she is torturing the ML, if she chooses to direct all her anger at just one person, the ML, then that’s exactly the issue.
If her beliefs matter that much to her, then she should be willing to stand against the whole world including her father to defend her belief . Maybe then her reasoning could be justified. But showing anger at only one person doesn’t justify her mindset.
And I never said the girl is the only one at fault I said both are wrong. Please try to understand the context clearly; otherwise, the conversation goes in the wrong direction.

If her master is really that important to her, then why is she only angry at the ML? She should be upset with her father too why is he assisting the ML, the very person she believes killed her master? Yet she never tells her father to stop supporting the ML.
I feel like she’s trapped in her own illusion of, ‘I’m only going to torture him.
The romance is quite depressing, and it’s all because the ML isn’t clearing up the misunderstanding. The FL isn’t particularly smart either she’s fixated on the idea that he killed her teacher. The political aspects are somewhat okay.
The main leads’ acting is also just so-so, as if they’re newcomers. I’ve seen their previous work and even admired them, but here it feels like they’re holding themselves back.
