Actually it wouldn't when you learn why. And in many instances in real life, it wouldn't be anyway. There are numerous marriages comprising people who met as student and teacher.
I know one couple personally -- she was 17, he was 25-ish when they met. As far as I can remember (?) they have now been married at least 15 years -- four kids together etc etc. Started dating after she graduated, married four years later when she graduated university.
No different of a relationship as people who meet online, in a coffee shop, at work, or wherever.
In my mind, NOT judging other people's relationships and concentrating on your own is usually the best and nicest way to live your life.
Finished this in one sitting and now I have a feeling nothing else will compare for a while... The number of times…
Highly highly highly recommend the manga. It's in my top 3 of all-time, and I read a sh*t ton of manga :) There are 17 volumes out at the moment, and I read the first 16 volumes in one day -- couldn't put it down it is so damned good.
Unfortunately, there isn't a legal English translation (yet) as far as I know, so there are only the dodgy sites to read it on. I've been begging Yen Press for months to license it for legal publishing in English as I would buy every volume the minute it came out, but just keep getting "Sorry" replies from them :(
There's a reason for their relationship though, and you learn it as the manga progresses. (Not sure if it explains it in the drama yet, as I've just finished Episode 5 ?). They are superb together though. One of my all-time favorite couples :)
i found this drama from reels and expected a “perverted teacher with his student” but LOL he is quite unexpected…
You should read the manga if you like the drama. It is exceptionally good. One of my favorite ever manga series because of these two characters, so I was ecstatic this weekend when I suddenly discovered there was a drama adaptation :).
Absolutely superb. The manga it is adapted from is one of my favorites (I've read the chapters of the manga that are currently published at least 4 times), and this adaptation is phenomenally good. Two of my favorite ever manga characters come to life. And come to life brilliantly (the acting of both leads is exceptionally good, as well as hilariously funny). Really hoping for a second season once the manga series ends. Highly recommend this drama -- beautifully written, wonderfully acted, and laugh outloud funny.
This is so damned good. Expected to watch it at double speed and possibly drop it after a couple of episodes as the premise wasn't necessarily my thing but, wow, I'm absolutely hooked. One of the best dramas streaming right now.
Thought first episode was extremely boring. Does it get any better?
No. I gave it through Episode 3 to see if it improved, then dumped it. Picked it up again and watched it through most of Episode 5. Still one of the worst K-dramas I've watched in a long time. Gave up. Life is too short for mediocre, IMO :)
It doesn't deserve anything close to an 8, IMO. Terrible acting, even worse writing and the plot is disintegrating fast. I just made the mistake of undropping it to see if Ep 5 was any better. Nope, even more of a car crash. Definitely done now :)
I'm only on episode 2, so I can't say for sure if my judgment is premature, but I'm growing a bit tired of the…
Well said and, yes, that's one of the main reasons why I've just dropped it at the end of Episode 3. She's still not remotely capable and really kind of a stupid person.
I don't do well with women like that (in real life or on screen :) ) Throw in that Jo Bo Ah is badly cast in this and overacts in almost every scene, and not even Rowoon can save this for me. Too many other better dramas to watch, IMO.
who actually thinks Jo boah is doing a good job in this role, feels like a miscast
Very miscast. She is my least favorite Korean actress as it is, but she's terrible in this part. I just finished Episode 3 and it's a drop for me. I just find her too annoying to sit through 13 more episodes.
This drama is based on famous American old movie Gone With the Wind (which in turn is based on Margaret Mitchell…
It's why I won't be watching past Episode 2 until Part 2 ends. I detest Gone with the Wind, so if this one ends the same way, I don't want to waste my time having watched 18 more episodes and still hate the ending :)
Because ‘The First Responders’ is just the english title of the drama. The real korean title is : 소방서…
IMO, the Korean title is much better than the bland, boring English-version. I don't know why they often do that? A descriptive, cool and unusual Korean title gets translated into "Blah, blah, blah, what's that show called again?" :)
Park Kyung Hee is literally everywhere!!!!movingmy lovely liarand this one again ! wow I hope gets a lead role…
I love her, and she's fabulous in this. She was wonderful in Love in Contract (not a fan of the drama, but she was great) and she was superb in Touch Your Heart (so cute).
Like you said, I would love to see her get a lead role -- in a quirky rom com where she plays a "very strange" female lead. She would be amazing 😃.
what I thought we had a lot of content from him on ep 1
Agreed. If he had hardly shown up, I would have dropped it by now as Episode 1 is mind-numbingly boring. I only stuck it through Episode 2 because of Rowoon. Glad I did, as the drama has definitely improved :)
You didnt feel ok with first two episodes, if you didnt you will never do....dramas is a hook at first sight or…
That's why, when people tell me "stick with (whatever drama they're talking about), as you've only watched 2 episodes" I end up dropping it, as yep, that might be the case, but there are also 19,872 other dramas I haven't started watching yet :)
Can I ask female lead's character? Is she childish energetic and very talkative ? I mean childish annoying?
Very very very annoying, talks to herself, laughs inappropriately (the spell book scene was incredibly annoying) and a very stupid person. I don't like her character at all. But... I have a feeling we will see huge character growth as the drama goes on.
Oh and btw, if you haven't started it yet, Episode 1 is the most boring K-drama episode I've watched in a long time, but give it a chance as Episode 2 is much, much better and suggests the drama could end up being very good.

I have been asking Yen Press for months to get the licensing for it so we can read it legally in English, but the only reply I get is "sorry". :(
