All 3 main leads are excellent in this, and Jung Woo Sung did a superb job directing, IMO. His first film as director, and already produced something this good.

What the hell? Why the low rating? (yeah, I know it's MDL users, what can I say).

As action thrillers go, this one is very well done -- superb action scenes with phenomenal stunt driving and body stunts, great performances by Jung Woo Sung, Kim Nam Gil and Park Sung Woong, and it's very well directed. Kept me on the edge of my seat through most of it.

If you want a fast-paced action film with an ending that definitely won't piss you off, it's a 9 out of 10. If you want a cozy drama with zero violence that doesn't upset you or "offend" you, don't watch it. It really is as simple as that.

There is always time to disappoint. Look at Dr Cha -- a drama I loved for the first 7 or 8 episodes, then wanted to put my fist through the screen for the rest :)

I'm one of those annoying people who, if someone tells me to do something, I do exactly the opposite :) Hence, if a rating is terrible, I'm even more likely to watch a drama.

Case in point, my planned viewing tonight is Jung Woo Sung's 'A Man of Reason' (https://kisskh.at/59105-the-protector), as I figure it likely doesn't deserve that 7.3 MDL rating ;) EDIT: It didn't -- A Man of Reason is very entertaining :)

As a journalist, I sometimes report on ratings from various sites, but in my personal life I pay ZERO attention to them. Don't look at them at all before I start watching a drama, as I don't want my judgement tainted by fangirls or, conversely, by the woke who are "offended" with just about everything that doesn't fit their extremely narrow view of the world.

In over 20 years of watching/reporting on K-dramas, I have loved the worst rated dramas and been bored stiff with some of the so-called best. That's why I always make my own mind up, and couldn't care less what other people think about something I enjoy/hate :)

I honestly don't understand sometimes what people are looking for. They will uprate the biggest piece of crap because it stars one of their favorite K-pop stars/actors who, half the time, can't even act, and then downrate something because some minor line in it "offended" them. The older I get, the less I like half the planet, and yep, sue me :)

Love this so much. In Top 10 of the year for me, unless it suddenly goes downhill. First two episodes though -- perfect!

Phenomenal first episode, with everything about it -- cinematography, performances, plot, pacing, writing, music -- absolutely superb. Easily one of best of the year if this continues on in the same way.

Ye Gods, this is waaaaaay better than I expected. First two episodes are fire -- and the chemistry between Song Kang and Kim Yoo Jung is off the charts. Def looking forward to Ep 3 as the first two were a helluva lot of fun :)

WTF are you talking about? She is talking about her own relatives (ie: they're Korean and living in Peru), and says "Do they ever wash? I can barely tell them from the Alpacas". -- No mention of anyone Peruvian.

ROTFL, of course they're NOT. Hilarious that anyone would think they would be filming up to the day a drama goes on air, and then that drama would be edited, with effects, voice tracks, music etc added ready to go on air that night. Hahahaha.

That could be true. Let's see how it goes from here :) I like the drama so far though -- interesting characters and premise, and it's well-written and beautifully filmed -- so even if that is a directorial choice, it's not bothering me overly much. Especially as, I think, he will become an incredibly sympathetic character once he stops being such an arrogant a-hole :)

She's excellent in this so far. Nails the character perfectly. Rowoon is a bit "hammy" (ie; taking both the comedic and the dramatic too far with his overly-exaggerated facial gestures and body language), but he's not too annoying and hopefully will have grown into the role in future episodes :).

Absolutely agree. No idea why half these stations aired superb dramas that then got massacred in the ratings because of the Games. I mean it's not like the Games hadn't been planned for the last 3 years :)

Arthdral Chronicles 2 is another one -- with 2 episodes aired 'back to back' on 2 different nights just to squash them in. Screwed that excellent drama's ratings too.

Live Your Own Life got its much deserved ratings bump last night tho -- I think it will likely only go up from there :)

They had no choice in postponing episodes. The Asian Games was on and it is hugely popular in Asia, so if they had aired the episodes the ratings would have dropped anyway as half the population was watching the South Korean football team kick Japan's ass :)

Besides, to say it was postponed so many times, it's doing really well. A big increase over the last episode with Ep 6, and likely to increase a fair bit again tonight. Plus it has 50 episodes and we're only on Ep 6. PLENTY of time for the ratings to skyrocket.

😂😂😂😂 I don't even like football, but I'll be checking the score of tonight's game. I like to see SK kicking Japan's ass now and again :)

Can't blame KBS2 airing the football game though. It's a MASSIVE deal for Koreans as, if they win, it will be the first time any country has ever won three consecutive gold medals in the sport. Fingers crossed, eh? :)

Dull, pointless, with little plot and shaky camera work that is supposed to look "artsy" and is just annoying. Particularly in the fight scenes. Couldn't care less about any person in the entire 90 minutes, most of which I watched on double speed. Hugely disappointing. Could have been interesting, but instead it's just a shallow rip-off of a thousand movies that are so much better. 6/10 just because it was short and the cast did their best with a very poor script.
