there isnt a novel , drama isnt an adaptation, it's original script. There are 10 chapters (revealed in synopsis ) wrote as lines for the script. It's all we have, nobody knows how script writers developed or changed the story.

Not to say FL and ML not in good terms from the beginning. Hate, betray, love....not boring at all. It's the story/journey of a slave (dive to pick pearls) who will become a wealthy business woman

first is a matter of choice ..remember she left Yu Zheng's show- actual BL's boss- coz she got the FL role in TROTAR after auditions. YZ told her that drama wont be successful, but he can offer her a role in his drama (role took by BL in the end). This is how Lusi got that nickname we all dislike, man was upset she refused him. She filmed TROTAR, that drama exploded, had 52 or 57 mil/ep and brought Lusi her Best Actress Award at Hengdian Film and TV Festival of China. All chars Lusi played have great development. All drama she chose are female centric dramas (even WRTW should be female centric, but the script was modified a bit in order to give the ML more screen time. And this happens almost every time when the ML is the first billing and top /high traffic actor) LLTG is also female centric, Lusi has more screen time than all her ML+ SMLs together. I still think screen time and the billing positions were negotiated and she chose to have more screen time- but coz we dont have evidence, this is just a supposition and has to be treated this way

You should know that actors in their beginning of their career take webdramas or low budget drama as first billing or 2nd billing. If they are promising, they can be 2nd, 3rd , 4th billing etc in bigger productions (TLB). The next step is to be second billing in even bigger productions (as WRTW, LLTG). As a second billing or less they only get exposure, not any other benefits like drama data, endorsements, promotions etc. They all go to the first billing. But if those dramas explode, they push second billings career, so they can be the first billing in other dramas (big productions like TLI which is S and TSOPG wich is S+, considered very high budget drama) If a low budget drama as HL finished its run as a S drama (incomes), TLI , a S drama finished its run as S+ drama, shows the fact Lusi can carry a high budget drama

Lusi did it in 6 years, without working back to back, with more than 3 months breaks between dramas for a better understanding of chars, with no varshows, attracted lot of hate for every each achievment mainly coz her growing was fast. the way CCTV (chinese national radio tv) media departments (as CCTV entertainment, CCTV6, CCTV VIDEO) hype this drama every 2 weeks, for almost 1 year, posting shorts/cuts , interviews, is impressive. I think they love this drama as much as we do :)
