Honestly, the ending might be unsatisfactory, but it is a hopeful one.
Admittedly, my inital reaction was indeed frustration. The good thing is that the show has lots of great aspects overall so this type of ending didn't lessen my watching experience.
I hope the people who haven't rated this yet will consider the charm of the show when you give your scores, so that more people will still be encouraged to watch.
Dubbing makes the actor rely on the voice artist's emotions thus makes them lazy and put little effort on their performance. With the amount of talent fee these actors get for sure they should be responsible on putting their best.
Since the director agreed to use CXX's voice, in their professional opinion, his deep voice and line delivery suits the character the most.
But yeah every viewers still have their own preference at the end of the day. Some might like clean voice cuts from studio recording, some might like the authentic voice coming from the set while actors are shooting.
From the moment youku released teasers about this series last year, I've already checked the feedback and reactions of int cdrama viewers. Unfortunately, most are not interested because they are not a fan of the two leads and most feel like it would be another typical xianxia with nothing new to offer.
I am a fan of CXX and I was a bit frustrated seeing those uninterested and nonchalant remarks before, so I promised myself to visit this page and other platforms to hype the show even though I myself is not fond of xianxia series.
On a perspective of a casual watcher and my first xianxia, I can honestly say this series in general is really good. It has all the right flavors to get you hooked.
Now that the tides were changed, I am just really glad that most of the viewers are enjoying the show. The attention TSL gets is authentic, from the people who genuinely love the show in its entirety.
All the actors did their best, and it really shows because the end product is magnificent.
A darkhorse, an underdog but got the well deserved victory ❤

Not sure with other youku popular dramas, but 10k heat index mark refreshes daily so it is possible for a drama to have a lower score the next day. To maintain this mark means the show is consistent with its performance.

Well that's the point of his role in the first few episodes, which is to be "boring", so if you felt bored and sleepy watching him then that means he's really doing a great job at it. 🤣
