TSL never claims to be different and unique. It still has the typical xianxia elements that you can see from previous dramas and will probably shown with those upcoming ones within the same genre.
TSL's selling point is the great acting, pacing and character developments of almost the entire cast. It is like a comfort show for most of us.
If you are starting this with the hopes of seeing a groundbreaking, indepth show, I believe cdramas in general is not for you.
Also, I don't know why people seem to start watching a drama when they already have a prejudice on the characters and then complains how they dislike it?
yup, (also, oh XD not just cdramas but also ones from other asian countries and regions too) same I def. wasn't…
I guess it's just a general thought that FLs are more prone to criticisms than MLs. Just like how drama watchers find it hot or attractive if the male character has a bad boy aura. If the roles are reversed, the female character will mostly receive hate.
Just started this and my god - can we stop with the bratty, rebellious teenager FL's characters - it's just annoying…
Uhm the FL is only 18 on her mortal form but she is waay older than the ML, technically.
It's part of the plot but I guess you won't have the patience to stick through if you are already annoyed and has a prejudice with her despite all the hardships she has to endure to survive.
What and what? Who was edited out & why? Who was hated for a character (CXX?)?
It is kinda funny, I was just scrolling on Romance of a Twin Flower's MDL page because I was planning to watch that show next. One PXR fan said in the comment that PXR was also attacked by her co-star's fans. By that statement, I assume this fan is pertaining to CXX. Their acting like CXX did not get hate on the show.
Anyways, another thing I read on twitter from another user (if you're here please correct me if I'm wrong because I onky used gtrans) they said CXX was the only actor among the cast from TSL that posted the trailer using his own voice, while the rest of the cast used the one with the voice actor's dub.
In the end, the version that was shown is with CXX's voice. Imagine if it didn't turn out that way. His efforts in making differences with the soul shards' expressions and voices will be put into waste.
I hope he will have projects on other platforms, youku is such an *ss.
I love how chatty we still are. 2,000 + comments after it ended. Wow. Got to love this comment section. It never…
It is because the show itself has lots of great moments that we can enjoy, it really helps to have these scenes in keeping a positive energy.
I also think another reason is because CXX and LLD are not traffic stars so they don't attract toxic people who hype their faves while bringing down other artists.
I just hope CXX's next FL does not have those type of fans lol
I've come across a post from a user under NiuDi (CXX×LLD) cp trend on weibo. I just used auto trans but it's still pretty good.
They said the reason why their pairing was welcomed and a hit than what was expected are because of:
1. Their acting skills 2. They were schoolmates so lots of topics to talk about in common, thus resulted to a natural chemistry. 3. They are both great actors who are not traffic stars, therefore no fightings from fans which resulted to a great viewing experience among the drama watchers.
They also hope drama fans will stay harmonius even with all these cp moments so that the actors will continue to be more comfortable even outside the show.
i don't know how they will incorporate lakorn into cdrama because lakorn is very unusual angst type of drama so…
compared to previous years of cdrama, the recent ones are more tame specially the leads who are mostly likeable characters unlike CXX's character in GMP before. So if ever they continue with the lakorn adaptation, perhaps it will be a bit lighter than the original.
I remember I've read a melon few months ago about CXX doing the chinese remake of a thai lakorn titled Game Sanaeha ( Chi Ai You Xi) with Bailu as the FL. Turns out BL was still doing the drama with WHD and CXX just finished shooting Our Interpreter with Song Qian.
There's no update yet if he will accept the role, but it is still on his mdl profile. Hopefully we can get PXR or Landi as FL. LLD said in an interview before that she would like to do a villain type of role. I haven't watched the lakorn, but apparently that show is full of angst, enemies to lovers type. That would be a great reunion project.
Can I just say, Peng Xiao Ran is soooo pretty. She and Li Landi have this fresh face and don't need to put filters to be beutiful. They also cry prettily.
I'm at ep 5 now. I need motivation to continue watching. I'm a little annoying to FL's voice and her character.…
Ye Tan and Bai Feng Xi are both princess, but that's the only simillarities they have. I think comparing them would actually be impossible.
Just like what the other OP mentioned few comments below, YT's character might appear like that in the earlier episodes because of all the hardships she has to endure growing up. She needs to adapt and to protect herself and will have a strong development throughout the series. WRTW's FL on the other hand, grew up pampered and has a freedom to do whatever she likes.
Maybe after watching several episodes or reading great reviews and you are still annoyed by the FL's character, it might not be your cup of tea 😊
Guys I have a question that I'm hoping you seasoned drama watchers can help me out. They seem to have been able…
Yeah, there are instances that actors will agree to promote a drama as a cp, some choose to just move on to their next series.
Maybe in this case, the cast and production can easily gather because most of them have already been working with each other from previous projects, they already have that bond. And I think both leads don't have any ongoing filming schedule so they can focus with TSL's promos.
Good lord, the micromanaging of CXX's an Li Land's body fat in China...all these peeps insisting that they starve…
Lol wtf was that. But then there are series who use body suits and some are even fakimg their abs with make up. I also watched a show that used a mascular body double when the ML was topless 🤣
CXX's face, height and body is like an ideal drama lead yet they still criticize him for something so ridiculous.
I think the whole drama is overall good, it’s just that we didn’t expect seeing the drama ending at showing…
I truly understand you on that aspect because I myself watch cdramas with mostly fluff themes or those shows with leads who are strong because I can't bear to watch too much angst.
The good thing about this series is that the light and comedy themes are more prevalent than angst so it is really not that challenging to watch.

I was not even as wise and mentally strong as her when I was 18 😅
It's part of the plot but I guess you won't have the patience to stick through if you are already annoyed and has a prejudice with her despite all the hardships she has to endure to survive.
Hope you find a show you can enjoy 🙂
Most of the bl production and actors are being lowkey right now.

There are also other melon accounts who post rumored shows and casts. I just search them sometimes.
