It's quite amusing to read varying takes about the current happenings of this drama.
Some people are not pleased with the pacing, while others are enjoying how the plot unfolds.
Others are ranting about the "lack" of romance/skinship/official couple status, while there are viewers who are enjoying the leads' banter, their witty flirting and intense chemistry even without the typical PDAs you see on idol dramas.
It just proves that The Double is such a great series that lots of people are bothering to leave their comments here and share their takes.
What I only find annoying are those who are posting unconfirmed rumors from untranslated posts on weibo (re: cut episodes from 40 to 36 eps) that create unnecessary panic and takes out the enjoyment of some fans *shrugs*
1. The leads started with few ineteractions from the first few episodes, but they are impactful enough to crave us for more. The other characters are also quite interesting so the flow of the story is still entertaining while we wait for the Leads gaining momentum of their relationship.
2. It is indeed a slow burn, but I think ep 15 is good enough to be a starting point of their romance.
3. I like how in the recent episodes, ML's voice/tone is a bit gentle when talking to the FL.
4. Most people who are watching this series are aware that WJY is more "experienced" actor than WXY, so there are some people who feels off with their pairing, and felt like she's too old coz we've seen her around for quite some time.
But if both of them are newbies with the same age gap, it wouldn't be a big deal. Their face (for me) and acting are enough to ignite their chemistry.
I initialy thought that this drama was a trash when I read the comments here, turns out it was not really that bad after watching up to the latest episode. It just suffers from a draggy flow beacuase of so many episodes.
Many are complaining about the female characters, on how they handle their respective romantic affairs, but they are more than that. Their world does not revolve around their boyfriends and they are also striving on their own careers. I just see them as people who also have their flaws.
Some users here are complaining how awful this drama is, but when I looked at their profiles, they rated popular dramas with 10 or 9 even though those series were dry, cliche, and typical.
Maybe if traffic actors starred in Men in Love, they will also be a bit forgiving and lenient lol.
It has the same typical highschool story, but I like the fact that on this series we get to see an almost perfect, flawless FL and a goofy ML for a change. And most of the pov is on the ML's side. Usually for dramas like this, its always the FL who needs character growth.
So far I am enjoying the series as a whole. Just some points I'd like to note.
1. ZHHZ's portrayal of YCW was too short to make an impact.
2. Between the two actresses, I really don't care who performed better for the FL's role. I am still quite satisfied with the current outcome because the actual character is somewhat sensible with her decisions and actions.
3. The most pointless/ annoying character for me is the 2nd FL. I don't get the purpose of her role at all.
4. Liu Xue Yi is still hot as ever.
5. Li Ge Yang and his character is what I look forward on every episode. Hope to see more of him other than being ML on short dramas.
Okay, so while waiting for the other episodes. Idk if you miss me guys but I was gone after so long, any recommendations?…
If you like low angst / with mature relationship with the leads. They also have supporting characters who have their own world/lives and not just revolving around the ML and FL:
Meet Yourself Day Of Becoming You Hi Venus
There are also lots of feel good modern romance released from 2021:
Crush Love Scenery My Little Happiness Our Secret Sweet Teeth
1. The drama has the right fluff that I enjoy. Nothing special, but still entertaining to watch.
2. The viewers can see the ML's attraction to the FL, but on YQL's pov, I feel like there's really nothing special (from ep 8-10) that GX has done yet that is worth mentioning. He just suddenly follows her around the next day he rejected her. Maybe there will be more chances of sweet encounters as we go along the next episodes.
3. Notably, Zhou Ye's character here as YQL has more depth and more "human" than her previous role from LMLMV. On the opposite, Lin Yi's character from Love Scenery was way better in showing how to properly "chase" a girl.
CXX has the face, body and acting skills an ideal male lead should posses, and being paired up with Dilireba will make this series truly a great one (with the right script of course)
I adore them both, and they deserve to be on a project where they can shine the most.
I am hoping for the best with this project and for it to turn out well.
Yup, for youku their highest is 10000 and the drama's popularity will depend on how fast they achieve this mark and for how many days they can sustain it.
ZRN's acting is pretty decent so far. She's an energetic, wide eyed newbie.
If her character is as calm and composed as the ML, who's already an experienced professional on their field, it will be a pretty weird dynamic considering this show is a romcom.
What an original plot. I've never seen anything like this in a cdrama. The scriptwriter must have worked hard.😜😜😜…
how did you figure out that this show is a typical romcom? We didn't realize it until you pointed it out. Seems like your comment is as original as this show's plot. Good thing you won't check it out 😂
But the way these characters are set up and their dynamics, they wouldn't come up with a marriage alliance.
But based on the latest videos:
XH will be out of the capital> Princess and SYR will corner JL > XH will save her > SYR will be in jail.

Considering its romcom premise, this rating is pretty high 👀
Other dramas having traffic actors are scoring more than 8.0 with questionable acting and recycled plot.
It is already airing on other platforms depending on your region : Linmon Pictures Youtube, viki, viu
