it’s a rollercoaster of emotions and there is stuff like the ML leaves the FL for a period of time but it’s lighter than eternal love. i would say give this a watch! it’s a very happy ending.

damn, i was hoping this one would have a serious tone. the plot sounds so cute, i’m a sucker for the bubbly girl and the heartless guy kind of thing but i can see them absolutely ruining it with comedy and whatever body swapping. will still give it a try but gonna seriously lower my expectations for it now.

i’m confused. is si feng an reincarnation of the star of mosha? or is he just a normal mortal? currently on episode 6 and it’s a bit slow so if anyone could give me a spoiler regarding this, i’ll be grateful :)

agree with the comments saying the pic should get changed. not a coincidence her and FSF’s pics were changed at the same time so it makes sense to change them both now that they’re divorced. really think there should some voting system when it comes to MDL headshots.

it was an intense skipping game lol i had so much hope that it’d get better at some point but it never did. had so much potential though :/
I also managed 2 mins of LOYX before dropping it too hahaha

normally i love the cliche romance fluffy drama, but this was was not good.

pros:
- enjoyed the ML’s acting
- some nice fluffy romantic moments
- was engaging in the first half
- second couple was cute

cons:
- the FL’s acting. she wasn’t terrible but it wasn’t main lead quality of acting.
- as a result of her acting, i felt there was poor chemistry between the main couple.
- storyline was messy. they got together officially for like 2 eps (and that took 21 eps) and spent the next 4 eps broken up until the last episode.
- on top of the above point, characters lacked depth. i did not feel any attachment to any of the characters.
- i normally overlook the questionable a parts of relationships in dramas because they’re normally minor but the couple was always arguing like kids with no communication.
- skipped heavily from episode 22-30 and i’m glad i did.

overall, 5.5/10. i’m so disappointed because i was waiting for this to be subbed before starting so i could binge watch but it fell flat. there’s nothing wrong with cliches and predictability in dramas, i love them. but it’s when it’s done poorly that i find them annoying. i would not recommend this drama.

that being said, i am interested in the ML’s future dramas though!

yikes, thought he was mad cute and liked his roles in dramas. disappointing.

think this comment is a bit harsh considering her stupidity at the beginning was for the plot to move forward because her characters develops really well as the drama goes on.

pros of this drama:
- don’t be fooled by the age gap, the leads have AMAZING CHEMISTRY
- the visuals of shen yue and jerry are off the charts
- nice cinematography and colour scheme
- the fashion side is somewhat interesting
- side couples were cute
- top notch acting from the cast.
- i loved that they used everyone’s real voices! jerry’s taiwan accent is so cute!

cons:
- everything else lol
i understand that it’s a slow paced drama and not meant to be romance centred but the leads got to together far too late. i lost interest in this drama around episode 22. barely any fluffy cute scenes after they became a couple. the storyline was overall uneventful, considering the romantic aspect wasn’t strong. ML had little character development until episode 34 and never communicated with the FL. i did not find ML’s personality enjoyable to watch. overall a 7.5/10.

it’s a good drama but would not watch again. i look forward to jerry yan’s and shen yue’s future projects. always a pleasure to see them act :)

don’t normally ship irl people but if him and Xu Ruohan ever decide to become a thing, I 100% support it lol they have great chemistry on and off screen! (pls give them another collab together, would love a republican or ancient drama of them hehe)
will look forward to his future projects in the meantime! love his acting <3

dropped after 2 episodes. really petty of me but the leads’ voice dub was jarring me. it’s like they recorded it with a microwave. the FL looks too old for the ML imo and it affected their chemistry for me. and also hearing that he loses his memory a second time... once is enough, jesus. i suppose you would like this if you enjoy office romance with amnesia but lol this isn’t for me at all. a shame because i generally do love the steamy kisses.

also that ending is literally all i ask for in chinese dramas PLEASE lol the perfect fanfic type of ending

i’m a sucker for republican era dramas because of the costumes so this is a bummer :( will probs give a pass now unless i’m in the mood for my heart to be broken. thank you for telling me!

i enjoyed this so much! well exceeded my expectations. definitely deserves a higher rating. while the FL is a bit jarring, she gets better after about 6 episodes. even then, it wasn’t unbearable enough to drop the drama, i’ve seen worse childish FL in chinese dramas before. the plot is nice and the pacing is good. leads has brilliant chemistry and although the drama clearly didn’t have the highest budget (that beautify filter was abused in some scenes lol), i still thought the set and costumes were very nice! i liked that the ML knew of the FL real identity early on and fell in love with the FL for who she was. one thing i thought was a bit rushed was how they dealt with the real Lu Yiling.
other than that, a nice cliche drama with cute romance. don’t go in expecting anything outside the box and you'll enjoy it loads. the best for when you want something not too stressful. defo recommend! 8/10.
