Very good episodes. Much progress made. I am glad Yuan Yuan stood up for herself and didn't fall back into her…
I wish there are more viewers/commenters like us who are currently watching this show. TBH, this is one show I'm currently watching sans fast forwarding like LOA, etc.
All of the female characters are intriguing and their careers/romances stories are progressing/developing beautifully.
Yeah, Not quite getting why they are hiding Jin Yan from Zi Yuan. It isn't like she hasn't spent the last 10 years…
OMG! I thought I was the only who thinks others are being selfish for not sharing with her (it isn't like she can't keep a secret or low profile/DL on things π€£). Thanks for your candor/acknowledging/ranting about this. π
I read your arguments/perspective (appreciate how you're putting it out there); please excuse the brevity of this…
I love your sounding reply (indicative of intelligent/fair) and basically, I appreciate how you're vocalizing and taking a different perspective/angle for this 'character'! My beloved mom has a saying, "Even the nicest person has someone who does not like them and the meanest/most difficult person has a friend!" *wink* I get your point as well; she was not mature enough (young age) to gasp what she was giving up (i.e. freedom/commitment & diligence on becoming fake DZY/ etc) in place for a new life. Understood; she has every right to feel BITTER and to be fair, she doesn't have the social education/etc that some of us have the luxuries of having (sans parents' teachings/wisdoms/etc)! Valid. Definitely a flawed character to induce 'drama'/antagonism/comments on MDL. lol
Maybe some of us are expecting her to be 'noble' or come to the realization that 1) Yes, she was used as a pawn, however, she is still alive as opposed to the 80K soldiers and DZY's family who lost their lives!,......I feel like other commenters already listed multitude of reasonings on how she ought to be grateful for her new stationing in life.
π€£ Yes, most of us are guilty of fast forwarding, walking away, or muting due to our disdain for her character and how much screen time she is getting (as opposed to novel)! π Keep on enjoying and love reading all these comments! π₯°
Making a defence for Di Chengen - yes I can already hear the calls for me to be banished from MDL, but please…
I read your arguments/perspective (appreciate how you're putting it out there); please excuse the brevity of this reply. *I love shares and differences in opinions/viewpoints. I agreed with the sentiment of victimization for the past 10 years, however, as a humble person, one would greatly appreciate the change in circumstance (you had mentioned this). In my subjective opinion, she is greatly guilty of 'entitlement' issues! There are plenty of 'victim(s) characters' out there in the real world/or dramaland who are GRATEFUL/or complecent for their current 'better' stations in the world post 'sufferings'.
IMHO...i.e. I didn't like her 'entitled' tones and in addendum, I did not like how she was cornering and thinking she is 'better' than Ren Anle when she thought Anle was a threat (CP). As a CP and future Empress, she has to accept the fact that CP's or Emperor's affections will be shared. Off topic, she was so GOOD at playing a b*&)* that I sometime wonders if she is one in real life. lol π€£π€¦π»ββοΈ
No, Ren Anle never becomes crown princess in the novel.I'm only up to episode 11, but it tracks pretty well except:-…
Thank you for your last bullet and shares on novel vs. drama; I was thinking that the novel writer/or screenwriter must not have been realistic since most emperors' have multiple offsprings (not just two..)! π€£ π€¦π»ββοΈ
Some entertainers (i.e. actors/etc) become more comfortable in their own skin as they mature/age; they tend to improvise and rely on their own experiences/prowess as opposed to being 'told' or less guidance. π I believed that is happening with Dilraba here; she is able to inject more humor/quirkiness in her character here! π
I hate to admit this but I finally understand why he has so many fans like you out there! Yes, I was one of them…
Appearance wise, I like him in historical better; maybe I'm not acclimated to the styling/dated look for Youth Memories even though he looks very attractive there as well.

Thanks again for your shares! Correct points on his improvements. Let's not get started how π₯ WYB is (in Born to Fly) because I don't want to take away from XZ's presence and this drama.
If you don't mind my candor, I did try to watch OoL and the one with Bai Lu but was not as invested as this one. Pairings matter (casting agents take note)! See you around and keep on enjoying. Xue Xue!

See...I'm not the only one! Thanks for being understanding; I appreciate how you're a loyal shipper of XZ. We all have our affinities; mine was Wang Yi Bo because my guy actually looks like him many years ago. Now he looks more white. π€¦π»ββοΈπ€¦π»ββοΈπ€£π
I hope someday (assuming you haven't) you'll be able to meet him XZ in person! ππ₯° Do you like him in modern or historical?

Please read my reply to TaianD regarding the Untamed...I'll try to watch that dram in its entirety! lol π€£π€¦π»ββοΈ Thank YOU! For me, I tend to base my liking on the pairings (i.e FLs, etc) as well. In this one, towards the latter eps, I find that he really 'tried' and I was cheering for ZY and SY! Ja You! πͺπΌ

Thank YOU (& others in earlier threads) for this recommendation! Not sure how I didn't catch the Youth Memories (I might have mistook Youth Memories as Miles to Go (another Li Qin's dramas in that era). Yes, I know he is very attractive but he was 'meh' to me until now (I know what you guys are thinking...how is that possible after The Untamed?!!) π€£ π€¦π»ββοΈ lol Sry, I like to formulate my own opinions on dramas/etc.
xiao zhan acting was top notch.. cheff kis.. he never fail impress me... his microexpression so good that it gave…

I totally concur on hotheaded replies and at times itβs necessary to step back re-read and understand the other perspectives/shares! π
Hopefully we wonβt be kicked off MDL lol π
