I see a lot of these dramas to be more nationalism (or patriotism as addressed in the west) and definitely marketing to their own Chinese citizens! So far, I don't see much propagandas but rather accounting what transpired in history and how the families/people are dealing with adversities/hardships in this drama.
Same messages on propaganda on the "Nanjing" movie MDL page! 🤦🏻♀️ No one ever says the movie , Schindler's List, is filled with propaganda? 🤷🏻♀️. Totally on board that it is propaganda to some audiences simply because the entertainment is from China (a communist country).
