Before I get inundated and get the plots all messed up with the four periods/historical dramas, I thought Iβll make this postβ¦ lol π π€¦π»ββοΈ
The only similarities between this drama and joy of life are the time travel, comedy, and a little confusion regarding the female leads identity in the beginning! Thatβs about it!
FL: as I shared with my MDL friends, I was hesitant to watch this drama because I didnβt like her character (off putting) in a drama βin betweenβ ! Iβm glad I gave this drama a chance because Iam enjoying it starting episode 15 and the FL is pretty & π in this. She actually looks good ( especially without that headdress, even though itβs necessary)! πβ¨
Mai & Le were my favourite characters but Mr Frank and Casey stole my heart. That friendship story was way more…
π Juvenile middle aged father....lol It was hilarious when he shared some tips on a 'happy' marriage at the wedding...I'm like "really?" lol π€¦π»ββοΈπ€£
ζη₯ (How Could I Know?) - εΈζε¨δΎι« (Curley Gao)γ倧ε₯ζζ΄δΊΊ Guardians of the DafengγChi/Eng/Pinyin…
Always appreciative of your ost shares; fyi, I was hoping you would share for the drama, Begin Again (2024)! π€£ A few of us are liking the music in that drama!
I found some OST for that show on YouTube recently so no worries! I literally commented on that page that I wish you were there! Happy new year! π
I find that's quite normal depending on where you go aboard. I would never put my bag on an empty chair or hang…
This is a good reply, Rilka.
I feel pretty safe traveling in Asia, especially in Singapore, China, Korea, Japan, etc., with all the CCTV!
Another component is the courtesy component because when you put a bag on an empty chair, especially at a busy restaurant in Asia it can be construed as youβre saving it for somebody! At a busy crowded restaurant every seat counts! πΈ
I find that a lot of people reminds me to zip up my handbag when Iβm traveling in Europe because of all the theft that result even when youβre riding public transportation or walking around! π€¦π»ββοΈ
Please take this as an objective reply to your remark above; what constitute as a 'chick flick'? Simply because…
LOL You're NOT being rude at all; I like directness as opposed to going in circles or passive aggressive (typical of US west coast) lol I'm direct and went to school on the east coast of US (among other things) , therefore, I'm acclimated to people who are straight shooters (funny at times). I have affinities toward old people and young Childs because they talk sans filters at times and I find it comical! lol
I like(d) how you also experienced the 'something' with your parents lol
I really love this drama, I watch all types if dramas and this is very different pace and very beautiful and soothing…
Wow, you even invested 3 eps. They are introducing in other characters in eps 10. Tbh, I've been disappointed in many asian dramas but overall, it is still more entertaining than US movies/dramas for me. I understand some of what you're writing because I find myself even fast forwarding on some female/male lead characters in a few dramas.
Same! I read the schedule wrong. I thought they were going to drop eps 1 thru 16 yesterday! π€£π€¦π»ββοΈ…
Love veggies! π₯ πSo much more beneficial and healthier! I also like seafood dishes. Do we know if it is 18 eps or 20 eps? Oh yeah, forgot to ask, where is your next destination of choice in this world? Mine is going to Beijing (to fulfill my beloved parents' dreams since they only have been to Shanghai).
Every morning, I check how the stock market is doing, check the MDL's messages board, and this drama!

Blossom: I actually rewatched some eps of earlier Blossom eps but the middle was meh. The last 4-5 eps redeemed the drama for me.
I want to shoutout to some of the unlikeable characters, at first, i.e FL's uncle and father; their scenes/acting were really good in eps 30+. I like to recognize more seasoned/older actors because vanity/beauty are not prevalent to them, their jobs are to portray their roles effectively/well! πππΌ
Begin Again: In my subjective opinion, K-dramas circa early 2015 to 2020 were good (some these days) in incorporating music at the crucial moments. In this production, I feel like they are GOOD at capturing/captivating us with their musicality (which is lacking in 'most' c-dramas) at the key moments. So far, we're (based upon reading others' comments) enjoying how the production (inclusion of actors/etc) team are putting something together that is appealing to some of us. It is OK if you don't like/want to view it. See you around! π

See, I'm glad I inquired; your delineation/extension means that it's a literal chick flick then! lol π *Giggling*
*Some messages (on MDL) are funny because someone would simply state "I have issues with this" (without extending further) and then another'd reply with "What do you have issue(s) with?" (i.e.) It's like my parents saying, "Can you go get 'something' for me?" What is that 'something'? lol π
I've no personal gain in this drama production so I won't try to convince you to like/watch it however (being aware and also watched these 'chick' flicks you mentioned) I haven't found any pairings where you want 'punch' someone lol Kidding aside, I like some of the characters and what their storylines are dealing with. I didn't know that Alex Fong (dad) is from Macau and I like his storyline in this. π

π I also heart this drama; both Blossom and this drama are dramaland's gifts π to me this holiday season! Keep on enjoying.
Beyond the romance, this drama also showcase the dynamics of Chinese families as well as 'ye hay' (integrity) of business/people (more like remembering people's kindnesses) and how people HELP each other. β€οΈ that aspect.

Not sure what part of the world youβre in, but let me tell you the not so good Asian food in Asia are still better than the better food here in the US! lol π π€¦π»ββοΈβ¨
Luckily, we improvise a lot by cooking at home! lol happy holidays ππβ¨
Wtf is this... hella cringe and feels like a chick flick
Please take this as an objective reply to your remark above; what constitute as a 'chick flick'? Simply because it is romance oriented?
Trying to be gender neutrality here even though I am a female. In fact, due to my chosen occupation, in addendum to romance flicks, I actually ENJOY espionage or action flicks/type (i.e. Mission impossible, Mysteries,/Histories, The Agency, Bruce Lee/Jackie Chan, etc]. I take it as a compliment that romance genre is still popular and that for marketing purposes, people still want to produce entertainment which curtails to my specific gender as you so expressed as 'chick' flick(s).
Two different dialects of Chinese. The one on Macao is different dialect? She is having so much trouble understanding?
There are funnies generated from similiarities in annotations between Cantonese and other dialects; being an America,n, I miss hearing the tongue (Cantonese) of my beloved mom. Only via grocery shopping or restaurants in the US do I get the opportunity to practice/use it.
I.e. In Cantonese, 'lie' (means pull) and the same 'lie' could be construe as come (closer); as my beloved mom delineated once, she wanted her friend to 'lie' (pull the strings of an overhead lamp) but instead her friend kept inching closer to her! lol ππ€¦π»ββοΈπ€£.
Let me know when you're ready for an airport joke between a foreigner and a Hong Konger Cab driver.

Fl is attractive (captivating) as well.
