I know I shouldn't take this drama seriously but OMFG I hate Kim so much! How can one be so stupid and survive into adulthood? Somebody needs to keep slapping him until his brain starts working.
This is getting so ridiculous that I'm half cheering for him to drop dead. Kamol might be an obsessive stalker and have the worst tattoo ever but even him deserves better. At this point he should be better off with any of his bodyguard, Cherry, Danai or a random dude down the street.
I've just binge watched the first 3 episodes and I must admit that this show really grow on me! Wasn't expecting that lol. The only thing that I will forever criticize about this kind of dating show is when they record all the episodes in the shortest time possible (aka: few days, a week etc.) It's definitely too short to develop genuine feelings. But of course that's just me bitching about shows that might be scripted as hell, so whatever :P
This is my take on the contestants so far:
-Eun Chan: I liked him a lot at first, but his interest in Hyeok Jun baffles me, it seems so quick considering that they've been knowing each other for like...2-3 days? And idk if the editing was crap, but their conversations weren't deep at all, so it's basically lust at first sight/taking interest in the idea of someone instead of the real person you should be getting to know. I hope I'm wrong though. Personality wise, he seems sweet and polite, his shyness is very endearing. His ears turning red so often are a cute trait :D
-Hyeok Jun: a nice dude, I was so surprised when he revealed his job! I think I get why he's so popular, since he's polite and smiley and possibily one of the most seeked "types" that guys like (I get the feeling that he's a gym rat or something lol ). I loved his interactions with Hyeon, they seem to get each other and feel comfortable, which is rare in dating shows ahah. With Eun Chan he was sweet but a bit stiff (?). But it's understandable since they don't know the others well.
-Hyeon: I don't have much to say about him since he's new, but I like what I saw so far. Wasn't expecting him to do drag at all, but that's so cool! I hope he will show himself more and maybe plan a date when he performs :) I don't see him click with anybody but Hyeok to be honest, so I predict that he will keep Hyeok as "target", unless someone new shows up.
-Changyu: one of my faves in episode 1, then... I must admit other contestants caught my attention. I get the feeling that no one of the group is the right fit for him, especially seeing how nobody called him and seemed impressed by his looks/personality. He admitted he want's someone a bit clingy and willing to spoil him, but I don't see those tendencies in the other contestants. So yeah, I feel for him. His date with Seon Yul was quite awkward in my eyes. I got the feeling that Seon Yul chose him because he dislikes Jeong Hyun a lot and wanted to avoid him. That's it. It was a bit painful to watch sweet Changyu trying to flirt 3
-Seon Yul: when I was reading the comments, I was so surprised to learn that a lot of people like him/find him adorable. He's my least favorite contestant and I know that my opinion will be controversial lol. But I don't really care. Of course it might be because of the editing, but what I learned about him so far is that he chose Changmin because of looks and... that's it? I mean, I repeat: I know that they filmed for a short period of time, but I was hoping to see more positive stuff about him. Instead I just see him as a bit shallow (which is odd, because Seon Yul himself said something like he didn't consider himself the most attractive so he was hoping to win people's heart with his voice (?) I was expecting him to be more open minded tbh.) I think he started to dislike Jeong Hyun since the dude spoke to people addressing them as "seniors". I get that it's not the most polite thing to do but c'mon... no shade, because Seon Yul is a good looking man in my opinion, but he looks 30+. He does look way older than Jeong Hyun. Anyway, sometimes people just don't click and I guess that's what happened. I don't see any chemistry with Changmin either though!
-Changmin: handsome. I am convinced that since he's good looking, he might not be used to chase anyone lol. That's why he's so passive/doesn't really take initiative. Also he might be one of those people that watches others for a while before liking someone, which is understandable and - to me - a nice habit. I get the feeling that he might end up liking Jeong Hyun, or maybe Changyu. I can't wait to see what will happen if he does decide to start to be proactive. That being said, I think it's unfortunate that he seems dense when it comes to use words and explain his feelings. I didn't like his first date with Jeong Hyun and the comments he made afterwards. I don't think he was insulting on purpose, but wow :(
-Jeong Hyun: my favorite. I am biased and I don't care to show it. As I said for Changyu, I don't think he's much compatible with the other contestants, my bet is on Changmin. He seems smart and sassy and I felt sorry for him when he received zero calls. I suspect the "pretty idol" image he has isn't that popular between the other guys and with his clumsy jokes about age/being old he doesn't help his cause. Honestly, his jokes about age gaps are the only stuff that I can criticize him for and they keep reminding others that he's a baby compared to them. It's also a bit childish to keep commenting on that. BUT -- again, he did it few times and it's been just few days, maybe he'll stop soon.
Overall, I'm very curious about the new contestant, but I hope they won't add other people in the next episodes, since they don't have much time to get to know each other.
And this is the end T_T I can't believe it still... And I'm not in the right mind to write a wall of text about this finale. I just want to say that I love (love love love) VegasPete and that their last scene was *chef's kiss* everything I wanted for them. I'd love an extra about their life together after the whole battle/mess.
The only thing I hated was the whole deal about their mother, which I guess should be the S2 villain, if we do end up getting a S2 confirmed. I think it's the worst plot choice ever and Chay and Porsche hugging her while she's standing still with a face that says "who are these little shits, ewww no" was hilariously unbelievable.
Ps. Tankhun is confirmed my favorite character after Vegas. What a legend. What a man <3
Okay, y'all, I need your help. Someone needs to help a clown (aka: me) figure out if this episode was disappointing or it's me that doesn't get subtle hints or whatever.
I mean, I was so hyped for today and then I spent 50% of this episode thinking "wtf". Half of what I watched seemed forced and rushed and I want to hear some analysis and explanations/theories about that. Or maybe you'll end up telling me that I'm right and then I'll go brooding in a corner.
- Why the hell Kim now tries to call Chay, when he's been a tool until now? There's no apparent reason. He straight up rejected him when Chay tried to get some closure and now he's suddenly reaching out after the whole "I almost caught you doing drugs with your friends". Maybe *now* he's concerned because of that? Idk. It seems to me that it needed to happen because the plot had to go on and probably a happy ending is near. - Same goes for Kinn: his behavior is forced to me. I mean, he was never a genius, but believing that Porsche is really okay after what his father revealed to both of them? C'mon. And yes, he eventually starts to figure out that Porsche is hiding something, but I got the feeling that his I.Q was lowered because, again, the plot had to go that way. - I get why Porsche doesn't trust Kinn 100%, but he might be the character I have the most issues with: he welcomes Pete back, he sees that his bff is traumatized and actually gets to take care of him and notice ALL the cuts, bruises, blood. He somehow figures out that Vegas is behind all that, even if Pete doesn't say anything, (lmao, howwwwwww???) and YET he sells Pete out and takes him to a bar to meet his potential torturer/abuser. Whatttttt. That's fucked up! It's also out of characters in my opinion. I mean, Porsche was assaulted (when he was drugged) so he must know a thing or two about being traumatized by someone. And Pete survived something that was clearly even worse. Empathy where? - Let's get to Pete. In previous episodes, he's kinda calm. He stays in Vegas' room, reads books, doesn't really freak tf out when he's tortured. The first scene in ep 13 it's about him reassuring Vegas ffs. Talking about "accepting himself" and being all fluffy and peaceful. We have a time skip and then he's suddenly angsty and borderline suicidal. Weeping and crying and asking to be murdered. Why. What happened. Idk if I got the wrong subs but I don't get what he says before Vegas gets to him. "I don't like this" + "then why did I say yes". Excuse me but in ep 12 we clearly see him consenting to sex and enjoying being eaten out like his ass is a whole gourmet meal. Again, it seemed to me that an angsty and dramatic Pete was suddenly needed because the plot required it. It felt forced :( - I laughed out loud when Vegas' father appeared slapping things/his son around. I mean, Vegas didn't do anything. He's alone in that huge mansion in the middle of nowhere. So how tf it's his fault if something happened and the main family is complaining about something? It was so random. "Today I woke up pissed so let's get to my son and go on mumbling about what a disappointment he is". Also, if the mansion is in the middle of nowhere, it means that a busy man like Vegas dad spent at least an hour (or few hours) just to drive there, slap and vent, then go back to business. LMAO.
Pls, correct me if I'm wrong. Give me another perspective bc I feel like I'm going crazy.
Damn, I just got here to check out wholesome/funny comments and I found out about Build :/ I'm so disappointed. I have no words. I think I will finish watching KP, because the cast/staff behind this project don't deserve to be snubbed or boycotted because of what a single person did.
Why can't we have nice things T_T
I hope his apology was sincere, because if that's not the case, his personality and beliefs are shit.
One thing I'm low-key disappointed about is Porchay I understand he had a heartbreak...the guy he loves is an…
I get what you're saying and I do agree that it's the dumbest decision that Chay had ever taken since the beginning of the series. But that being said, I think it's also painfully obvious that Porchay is... young. And young people unfortunately do dumb stuff when they experience heartbreak. Hell, Chay also experienced trauma (because of the kidnapping), so the makeover and throwing away his resume could be a sick way of reclaiming control of himself/his life. Without telling Porsche because he doesn't want to ruin his brother's dream :(
Bottom line --- it's disappointing, you're totally right, but it's believable T_T
I have no idea if this is an unpopular opinion but: I loved all the VP scenes and I'm satisfied with how the series is treating them so far. Did they deserve more? A longer storyline in S1? Yes. BUT --- so much worse could've been done! They are slowly becoming my favorite couple, but I just know that episode 13 will be angsty af. I believe it's not a coincidence that Vegas said something about "all the things I love eventually leave me". Pete is going back/escaping, maybe, and he's going to rage and raise hell. At least that's my theory :') In ep 14, I predict that Pete will decide to go back to him because something bad happens to the second family (Vegas' father dies maybe? Or---- Macau?!) and will come running as soon as Vegas is unstable.
If this doesn't happen, I have a fanfiction to write lol.
To add few more points:
-Kinn and Porsche are sweet, however I'd love to see more Porsche and Porchay scenes. Chay needs his big bro :( -Kim is dead to me lol. I appreciate that he came to rescue Chay, but I don't like him a bit. He needs to grovel and beg for forgiveness and maybe ( m a y b e ) after a while Porchay can eventually stop hating him. That's all I can allow. -No Tankhun I'm sad :( I need him to smack his father with a tray asap. Pls Khun, I have faith in u.
Ps. Also --- Porsche's uncle should end up in a ditch soon, or something.
Honestly, I know that a lot of people are disappointed with this episode, but I really liked it! And I say this as a VP fan :) It's not perfect, of course, but I like what they did with all the couples, since there's not that much time to deal with all the characters/relationships/dynamics. I wasn't expecting the series to follow the novel to a T and I believe that Pete and Vegas are not in love yet, but just attracted to each other (maybe now I see Vegas way more into Pete...), so I am satisfied with that. I also love that we finally get an explanation about why Kinn & the others don't try to find Pete anymore.
One thing that ended up disappointing me tho is how was played Vegas' father abuse. I mean... I get that slaps are bad but... I was expecting more gruesome stuff that would kinda explain why Vegas is a messed up sadist lol. But again, Macau is not that bad, so maybe Vegas' worst traits are 10% caused by his father and 90% just him (?)
ps. Since he wasn't mentioned even once... it's safe to assume that Big IS dead. lmao. Still salty about that.
As someone who hasn't read the novel, I'm kind of confused on the reviews on the VegasPete scene. Like, some people…
I have read all the VP parts, but keep in mind that the screenwriters changed so much stuff about everything that spoilers might be useless. Also my memory sucks, so if I say something wrong pls people correct me lol.
That being said, VP is starting like in the novel: Pete is caught by Vegas in his room. What's important is that at first, Vegas doesn't like Pete and Pete hates Vegas. So their relationship at the start is being 100% enemies. I believe what we saw already in the episode is the same (or maybe Pete is intrigued by Vegas when he's "working" -first hint of masochism). Therefore, in ep.10 we looked at pure torture and that's why people aren't romanticizing it. I mean, most fans are excited that their storyline is starting and that's it. The hints about Pete being a masochist are not the only ones that made people realize that we're talking about a masochist/sadist dynamic: for example, there's the fact that Vegas has "equipment" in his room (the gag). Because of all this, Pete's reaction to the torture is bit hard to judge with 100% accuracy. One can interpret that he didn't enjoy at all what happened, others might say that it's his first experience being hurt and a tiny bit of pleasure might've been present even during those circumstances (i.e: not consenting, being in an unsafe environment etc). But don't get me wrong... even if Pete 1% liked it: in ep. 10 there's no room for consent and it's possible that there won't be for... well, almost their entire time together until Vegas starts to fall for Pete (which is NOT soon), if they follow the novel. In the VP parts, Vegas doesn't give a damn about consent and doesn't care about Pete's pleasure. He is 100% self-centered and doesn't care when Pete bleeds or begs for mercy, doesn't care when Pete doesn't want to have sex with him. He takes what he wants. In fact, he enjoys inflicting pain. That is, until he starts to fall for Pete. If that's how it's going to go in the series as well, Pete will get through hell at least for few episodes. Since BOC needs to show them as a couple though, we might get more about Pete masochistic tendencies and less about Vegas being so terrible with him (I'm talking about r**e). I think they will play with blurred lines, dub-con and interpretation, because the fandom needs to at least be intrigued and not disgusted at the idea that these two might end up together. In short... they're a trainwreck in the novel, in the series it might be less of a disaster, but they're a complicated ship. If you want explicit answers and a right/wrong explanation about their dynamic, I think you might end up disappointed. But maybe I'll be proved wrong because I'm a clown, ha.
Are we really really sure that Big is dead and not just seriously hurt?
...well, now that you ask, I'm starting to wonder as well! I thought he was dead because when characters were talking about him after the shooting/explosion, a body in a white bag was being moved not that far away. But it's true that nobody said anything specific about him being dead. If he's not dead, then that would be great and I'm ready to take back all my rant about him! It would definitely make this episode way less disappointing to me.
I sooooo agreeeee. This episode was seriously a disappointment for me. Most of it all i freaking hate how Pete…
I honestly enjoyed this series and I'm still enjoying it. It's a great step towards producing more high budget and serious BLs and this alone makes it special in my eyes. I like Porsche and Kinn together, the actors have chemistry and are doing an amazing job. The novel had so much messed up stuff that I have to say KP is turning out great in comparison. But that being said, in my opinion it's not a perfect series and I can definitely see why someone would feel disappointed. I have high hopes for Vegas and Pete and I'm waiting to see how Kinn and Porsche will grow. For now, I choose to be optimistic about everything!
“Maybe I am wrong, but Chay and Porsche were established like loving brothers that only had each other and were…
I'm not saying that Chay had to forgive and forget instantly. Nor that he shouldn't be mad. I think we'll have to agree to disagree instead, because I believe that Chay's character was portrayed in a very different way from ep1 to ep9: he was never ever selfish. He idolized Porsche. He's the only family he has left and giving up so coldly seems more than odd. What's frustrating to be honest is that we might be both wrong, because their argument wasn't shown. So to me all of this would make sense only if Chay spent quite some time begging Porsche to quit, asking why he decided to work such dangerous job (money, of course) and maybe offer to work part time to help out. However, since we only saw Chay being pissed after the whole Tawan/Vegas stunt and then got this info... One can argue that all we got was a butched version of what went down, that doesn't really adds up.
Finally, I've watched today's episode. While I do think that KP is a great series (don't get me wrong) I'm sooooo disappointed in how the screenwriters managed the second half of ep 10. So please let me whine a bit <3
At the end of the day nobody cared about Big's death. Kinn seemed troubled at first when he saw him down and bleeding, but then nothing. Not a funeral, not even Porsche feeling guilty or at least regretful. Kinn lost a man that has been with him (showing loyalty) for YEARS and the whole thing was disregarded in few minutes. Porchay and Porsche's scenes were too few :/ If Porchay had asked Porsche to resign, that means they must've had a second fight that the viewers don't know about. We were so robbed /: Also... Let me put it this way: my big brother is involved with the mafia. There was an explosion and shooting. The first thing I do is bitching because he lied to me. Not asking if he's okay, be traumatized and shaking (let's not forget that it's Chay's first kidnapping!) or idk, cling to him. Maybe I am wrong, but Chay and Porsche were established like loving brothers that only had each other and were VERY attached. Now Chay wants to cut him off, like it's nothing? And what about Kim? Disappearing like that... smh. Maybe I am the only one left that don't like his character and don't like him with Chay because I don't get him. I hope Chay knows that he was involved in all that happened and ditch his ass. Last but not least, Kinn forgetting about Pete made my blood boil while I was reading the novel and I hoped SO MUCH that this would get fixed in the series. I mean, so much was changed already! Vegas is smart enough to figure out how to make it seem that Pete is going on holiday or something. He has Pete's cellphone, ffs, and he must know that someone from the main family (presumably Kinn) must've sent him in his private room. Instead, we got the dumbest explanation possible: Vegas does nothing, Porsche doesn't check on his supposed bodyguard bestie (and roommate) and Kinn has selective amnesia. Pete deserves better and I am ready to choose him as my favorite character. Speaking of Pete, my love for this man knows no limits. I know I'll love when Vegas starts simping for him (but sorry dude, simp #1 is moi). VP will be the main reason I'd keep watching and appreciating this series, I just know it already. Also Apo's waist is another damn good reason.
Ps. I hate Tawan less than expected. Dude was played and while he deserved everything he got, I did feel a tiny bit sorry for him when it was shown how Vegas manipulated him. Never trust a man that ask you to do stuff so that his papa will accept you as a couple. lol.
Kinda disappointed and sad about how the KP fans are reacting to the new episode, especially on twitter. I haven't watched it yet (soon I'll start my binge) but there's so much drama and negativity. And I say this as someone that wants to see VegasPete and has read all their parts in the novel. I mean, the series title is "Kinnporsche". Not "let me give you a detailed copy of one of the secondary couples that -by the way- it's barely mentioned in the first book". There's also the fact that from what I understand, KP has very different plot/characterization from the novel. So there's no way to know if VegasPete will be established too late, will be cut unfairly etc. Maybe their plot will be wildly different, who knows. Maybe we'll get a bit of non-con, an escape and no falling in love yet, but more in S2.
Also, fluff is sometimes necessary to show that the characters are bonding and are progressing in their relationship. :(
How can one be so stupid and survive into adulthood? Somebody needs to keep slapping him until his brain starts working.
This is getting so ridiculous that I'm half cheering for him to drop dead. Kamol might be an obsessive stalker and have the worst tattoo ever but even him deserves better. At this point he should be better off with any of his bodyguard, Cherry, Danai or a random dude down the street.

At least that's my theory :')
In ep 14, I predict that Pete will decide to go back to him because something bad happens to the second family (Vegas' father dies maybe? Or---- Macau?!) and will come running as soon as Vegas is unstable.
If this doesn't happen, I have a fanfiction to write lol.
To add few more points:
-Kinn and Porsche are sweet, however I'd love to see more Porsche and Porchay scenes. Chay needs his big bro :(
-Kim is dead to me lol.
And I say this as a VP fan :)
It's not perfect, of course, but I like what they did with all the couples, since there's not that much time to deal with all the characters/relationships/dynamics.
But don't get me wrong... even if Pete 1% liked it:
in ep.
If he's not dead, then that would be great and I'm ready to take back all my rant about him! It would definitely make this episode way less disappointing to me.
We were so robbed /:
Also...
Never trust a man that ask you to do stuff so that his papa will accept you as a couple. lol.
Evil screenwriters >:(
Wish me well. I don't think I'm going to survive T_T
So there's no official translation, right? I know that only book 1 was translated T_T
