Anyway, I'm worried about the final lineup: Junseo and Geonwoo need to get tf out.
And I don't see anyone saying this but... It's so weird that Yunseo is still there. I'm not trying to bash him in any way, I think he's cute and has a great personality but he's SO YOUNG. And he looks young, it's not like his visual is misleading.
People keep yapping about not debuting minors and how sexualizing them is wrong, there's always backlash about it when girl groups are involved but when it's about guys there seem to be plenty of people supporting that.
Maybe kr votes from noonas are a lot? Idk, but it feels icky.
It also limits the kind of concepts and lyrics his future group could perform, unless their producers won't give a damn about it. I don't know which option is worse.

LMAO. It's been years since I've started watching these survivial shows and I'm still BAFFLED that people are shocked when the contestants' visual is taken into consideration when voting.
I mean... yeah? Water is wet. Newsflash.
Idols have always been (with few exceptions) models that dance and sing decently. Some are also very talented, some are dozens that are carried by the rest of the team.
Is it fair? Nah. Is it nice? Sometimes yes, when a group is well balanced.

That being said...
I'm fairly sure my favourite (Harry June) won't debut, but I hope this show will give him enough exposure to boost his career.

I still ship the Gold Digger and the Lawyer. Here, I said what I said. I know it's twisted and she's clearly looking for someone with a lot of money, but DAMN THEY'RE ADORABLE TOGETHER.
He keeps giggling every time she says something off and I can't help but cheer for them. They seem compatible, the kind of couple that doesn't really get frustrated with each other when they just need to chill.
I just think she needs to catch the dentist saying some messed up stuff and she'll quickly snap out of it. Maybe I'm wrong, but GD won't tolerate that kind of remarks like the desperate School Teacher. And by the way, when a man asks you to let him see his crush at 2 am, any sane woman should smile, say sure and then lock him out of the house and out of her life.
That dude's body is made by 50% creepiness and 50% audacity.

About the other couples... I don't think I care for anyone else but those two in the couple zone that during the last episode had the talk about his sister's death. It's a shame we didn't get to see more of them in episode 7th, but I assume we can take for granted that they're going strong, there's no drama and the producers didn't want to bore the audience.

I also want to add few lines about the pharmacist guy:
I get why he's single. He's... nice but plain. And cannot read women at all.
It's not great to be that fixed on someone that doesn't really show you that you're a priority and he seems to believe that if you're a nice guy = you deserve the girl.
It's a bit icky, I don't know if I'm the only one that noticed that. If he wasn't that handsome, people would be very annoyed about his behavior.

I don't think I ship the Gold Digger (sorry, I struggle remembering names!) and the Lawyer anymore. I felt a bit sorry for her when he revealed he wanted to talk to more people and I guess it's a very good choice for him but idk, I thought that they had a chance as a couple if at least half of the pair was truly devoted lol. She could warm up to him at least, date a bit and then inevitably break up after few months/weeks after the show.
I can't fault him though, because so far GD talked a lot about money and nothing else, unless the editing censored a lot of their conversations (which, to be fair, could be possible).
Anyway I don't hate GD, I find pretty sad that she's trying to get married with money in mind, but she's upfront and sincere about that, so she's not hurting anyone and I can respect her for that. She's not fake.

Moving on to the School Teacher and Scumbag, I am baffled. During every single episode he confirms to be the worst and I don't get WHY she can't see it. Her older brother might have a reason to be so inquisitive: if that's a pattern, he's probably used to question what the hell his sister is doing. And to be honest, the few snippets of conversation that we saw were pretty tame. I mean: is it that bad to ask if your little sis is "your first choice"?
And by the way, Scumbag is dumb. I mean, if you want to behave like a sleazy villain, the LEAST you can do is also play smart and lie a little. I'm no mastermind and I know that if somebody asks me a question like that I must reply something witty or vague "she wasn't at first, but she's winning me over" would have sufficed. And then he could bullshit something else to choose someone else few hours/days after. Ugh so frustrating.
When she comforted him after the meeting and then he started to talk about how GD was cute, I thought about hiring a hitman and take care of him myself.

The couple that had a very nice date with the dude's parents is lovely tho. I really like them and the story about his little sister was unexpected. On one hand, heartbreaking. On the other hand, he seems such a great and sensitive guy. Of course, all could be scripted (and probably is!) but it's a nice break from everyone else in this show. Between betrayals, wishy-washy people, lack of chemistry or dudes/girls not ready for marriage, it was a nice change.

Overall I'm quite pleased with this season! It's as entertaining as the previous one, maybe a little bit more. Hoping for S3 to come as well :)

I don't know what's wrong with me but now I lowkey ship the gold digger and the lawyer.
Maybe it's because they shared lipstick and their scene in the snow was cute.
Maybe it's because he was such a loser when he tried to charm the tall girl that came from the couple zone.
Maybe this show is corrupting my soul.
Maybe I'm going mad.
Maybe reality shows are lowering my EQ.

Discussing the show here is almost more enjoyable than the show itself!

Man #11 is so gross. I think he might be the worst man out of these 2 seasons so far, unless I have forgotten someone else (?) as rotten as him. I wonder how he will be perceived by the korean audience... because unless he gets married during the show, I don't think he'll be able to date for a while.
His partner, the school teacher, is a bit spineless tho. I mean: he was so disrespectful and then she stayed anyway. WHY. When he pretended to call her like she was a puppy, I was expecting and wishing for a slap :'D

Woman #19 gave me the same vibe you described. The fact that they discussed her scandals and aired that "she wasn't at fault, she didn't do anything wrong" was weird. It felt so scripted, adding to the fact that she was invited to the Palace """""randomly""""".
My best guess is that she knows someone behind the scenes and asked to be added to the cast.
Prediction for the rest of the series: she'll flirt with the dude that likes her, then at the end she will say no citing that "she's not ready" or "she doesn't want to drag him down with her public image" or something.

And even before that, I really disliked him. All the "I don't like her, but I must say yes to keep a good image" was revolting.
Him bullying the girl when they were chatting together was just the ice on the cake.

Also I forgot to mention the US lawyer that got rejected and booted out the program.
I mean... he took the "delulu is the solulu" meme quite at heart. How a man can think "yeah, we fundamentally disagree on where to raise kids, we're compatible! She'll say yes" is beyond me.

First, the gold digger's name is literally similar to gold digger (unless the subs are wrong).
Then, the dude she chose - that reassured her he'll be able to afford luxury like she wanted - is deeply in debt and broke. How poetic.
It's so perfect I wouldn't be surprised if it was scripted!

I'm worried about woman #5 tho. At first, I thought that the long haired dude was about to change things, but after seeing him choosing her to go to the palace and then ditch her suddely to go to the single zone... I think he just grabbed his chance to keep himself under the spotlight and stay few more episodes. If I remember correctly he's a model, so it makes sense because of his job. Such a pity...

I don't like woman #19 at all. I don't care about the rumors and I don't know anything about her, but overall what I saw during these few episodes is a pretty face. That's it. That's all she's shown so far. I don't get her personality. She rejected the dude that invited her to the palace, then showed up because it was a good chance for the show to create drama. I'm also 100% sure that the guy she rejected will attempt to give her another chance, but I don't care.

Overall I'm still a bit disappointed. I mean, I knew how unserious was the show because S1 was the same, but I was hoping for more drama. Hopefully people will deliver during the next few episodes.

Woman #6 was pretty smart: if something so minor triggers a man so much, then he's a total red flag. She verified this by playing smart.
When he left her alone waiting he was punishing her 100%. And it's not something A HUSBAND should do, let alone a stranger lol.
Also idk, I got the vibe that he was telling her all the right things she wanted to hear ("yeah, I'm totally like your friend's nice husband..." Ykes.)

Hopefully he'll run away as soon as he snaps out of it. I mean, beauty can be distracting but she's so entitled that I think she'll auto-sabotage her chances.

3 episodes in and... idk if I'm cheering for any couple to be honest :')
It's still the beginning and I hope to see more about the contestants. So far I don't think I see long-term potential. Most are choosing each other because of silly reasons or purely because they're pretty/handsome.

Also, the blonde girl is insufferable. It might be my culture, wildly different from a korean one, but all that talking about owning an expensive house, money, "I'll maintain my figure"... screamed to me "I'm going to be a trophy wife and I'll leave you as soon as you'll earn $1 less".
I pity the fool that will end up with her.

Yessss! I was so disappointed when I saw that Woman #2 didn't pick him :(
He seemed so genuine... Maybe one of the contestants that seemed more down to earth and serious about being willing to marry. However, I think he did too much. Logically speaking, they had few conversations and in each one of them he went on about his background and how undesirable it might be. It gets old really fast, especially if you're a stranger and you don't want to keep reassuring your partner.

The thing is, I believe that all participants didn't expect this show to be a mess...
So I think Gwanyoo believed that getting into Starlight Boys would be a good choice, then he tried until he realized there was no hope. So he did what he did as early as possible.
I mean, withdrawing is huge and I don't think it's something that an idol would do easily. He now has to deal with angry fans and wasted a lot of time! Also, he was injured as well (he had back pain...)

Nobody knows for certain, because it seems like the contestants aren't free to speak about what's going on behind the scenes.
From what I gathered lurking online, the issues are... well, a lot.
First, there are accusations of mistreatment. Which, well, since we've seen the troublesome challenge about the program's theme song, I guess we can say for sure it's true. Apparently a lot of contestants went to the hospital and people are injured quite often.
Those injured, sometimes don't receive proper treatment or aids (no wheelchair/crutches etc). So they're risking their health and maybe careers :/
The judges are rumored to be really harsh and unhelpful with their criticism, one (we don't know who) apparently told Ying Hao that he wasn't suitable as Polaris because he was "too feminine". Bullying remarks seem to be common.

But I think the worst, from a contestant perspective, it's also the fact that the show is flopping in Korea/China. So one might end up debuting... With a contract that will trap them for 3 years and in a group that will never reach popularity!
I believe this is the reason that even the 1st placed contestant decided to give up. It's just speculation on my part, but I don't see any other reason to withdraw, unless he was sure it was better for his career not to debut at all in the group under Iqiyi.

Last but not least, there are rumors circulating that Boys Planet II will gladly accept to recruit contestants with experience. So people might want to go there instead (BP II will be popular for sure, just saying...)

But also, I find really distasteful the way he reacted after knowing that the divorced lady was maybe into him: gushing about it, visibly excited, MULTIPLE times when talking with the girl you're supposed to bond with? Eww.
It's baffling how some contestants went to a show like that and they're clearly nowhere ready for marriage lol
